Hey I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, here with a quick breakdown of the SR Performance throttle spacer fitting all 2005-2010 Mustang GTs. SR Performance is a company that has been earning the attention and respect of a lot of Mustang owners lately thanks to their high quality yet budget friendly performance and suspension components for a wide variety of Mustangs. If you would like to stay up to date with all the latest SR products released for your ride, just click on the banner to subscribe to our YouTube channel if you haven’t done so already. The SR Performance throttle body spacer is designed to work specifically with the twin 55mm throttle body on all 3 valve Mustangs, with the goal of increasing your plenum volume which in turn should give you a little bump in power and torque and even throttle response. The throttle body spacer itself is made from 100% solid billet aluminum, and while it won’t add a ton of power on its own, it is a great compliment to those other basic bolt ons, such as your headers, your exhaust, your cold air intake system, and even superchargers. If you do want to hear what other 3 valve owners are saying about this part from SR Performance, I do encourage you to click the link below to head back to the product page, if you’re not there already, just to read up on some of those reviews. The spacer does come along with all the necessary hardware and gaskets needed for the installation and best of all does not require a tune. Speaking of the install, this one is pretty much as easy as it gets, you’ll want to first remove the factory throttle body, install the spacer to your factory intake manifold and then reinstall the throttle body to the spacer itself. We do call this one an hour on the site but don’t be surprised if you get it done a little faster. Either way if you do have any questions or concerns, or need some help installing the throttle body spacer, feel free to give us a call or shoot us an email. So if you’re looking for an easy to install, inexpensive part that’s only going to help your performance as more parts are added, then you have to check out SR Performance’s throttle body spacer available right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

WARNING: Bolts might be a bit too long
Overall... I like this product... especially for only $40... as compared to other more expensive options ( perhaps they are charging extra for the colored finish?? ). Even with my criticisms below, it gets 4-stars because I got what I expected from it. Fun to work on my car... and a little "whistle" added to the acceleration. Performance... I gave it 2-stars because I think it's misleading... I Seriously Doubt there is any "noticeable" power/performance gain from this spacer, even when it's installed with the most ideal conditions. It's "plausible" that it might improve throttle response... but I'm willing to bet that everybody who installs this, just as I did, will also take the time to clean the Throttle-Body and the Mass Air Flow Sensor... which, will increase throttle response all by themselves... especially if you disconnect the battery and let the computer reset as well (like you are supposed to). FIT - 3 stars... bolts are too long... add washers. It says "straight forward bolt-on installation"... the new bolts bottomed out before they even tightened down on the lock-washers that came with it. I've seen several reviews where people had engine problems after the install, and I'd bet some of them might not have noticed if that happened. If it can't tighten down... there's no seal... obviously you're not supposed to wrench-down on this thing, but it needs to be tight enough to create a seal for that thin gasket they included. In any case, I added a few washers to each bolt.. problem solved. Simple solution, but I shouldn't have to do that.Helpful (0)

The only problem was that the bolts were a 1/2 to long. Had to grind them down in order to fit. Other then that, I am pleased with this productHelpful (0)

Throttle Body Spacer
This throttle body spacer made a difference in my peddle response. I was really surprised in the difference in HP also.Helpful (0)

Throttle Body Spacer
If you have an intake cover on your 4.6 you will have to remove it completely or modify it to fit with the Throttle Spacer. I also had problems with the blots that came with it. They were to long so I had to use washers to take up that extra space. Other than those two issues i am very satisfied with the performance. There is quicker throttle response and maybe a small gain in HP.Helpful (1)

Bought it 'cause it was $29, though I might as well. It's been pretty well debunked already, but obviously it provides no power gains. My biggest gripe is that it seems like the bolts were too long, the ends of the throttle body started to bulge.Helpful (1)

Looks good but....
Install took a little longer than I was hoping. Hardest part was getting the stock studs out. but it wasn't much. Looks good under the hood. Maybe noticed a little bit better throttle response. Also might have lost a little MPG instead of the gain some people talk about.Helpful (0)

SR Performance TB Spacer
I will say that the spacer itself looks very well made. Did not take but about 15 minutes for me to install it. There isn't much performance gain thus far that I can notice, product claims it can help with MPG so time will tell if it does. I did notice a little more throttle response though but isn't much. I would still recommend this product to anyone doing light mods to the vehicle or like in my case trying to squeeze a few more MPGs from your pony.Helpful (0)

will the SR performance throttle body spacer fit a bbk 62mm throttle body? do the bores on the spacer match the bores on the bbk throttle body 62mm?? or are they different because the spacer fits a stock throttle body with 55mm bore?? i know V6 models do from prior experience but is it the same on a GT?? need to know before i buy either. thank you!
The bore size on this spacer is designed for the stock throttle body only. Using this spacer with the 62mm aftermarket throttle body would actually restrict your airflow and negatively affect your power gains. Hope this helps!
Will this fit on the Ford racing intake that you guys carry?
Yes it does. I replaced my orginal intake from ford with the ford racing intake this summer and it works perfect. I have pictures posted on the intake section and you should be able to see the spacer in the pics.
do you need a tuner for this? i don't have a tuner and i am not sure if this needs one. can someone please tell me if a tune is required?
Nope, threw it on my 06' and no check engine lights.
How does this improve performance?
The throttle body spacer is based on the theory that air entering a chamber will have a greater velocity and more mass if spun. The helical groves on the throttle body spacer are designed to make the air spin, thus delivering a greater volume of air to the engines cylinder. This in turn, increases the power of detonation by adding more air to the fuel/air mixture. Additionally, on older model Mustangs with throttle body injection, the swirling air mixes the air and fuel much better, providing a more consistent spark and hotter detonation. More air & a stronger detonation = more power.
I recently purchased this item for my 2010 Mustang GT. After I installed it I noticed that the Powered by Ford engine cover that goes over the intake manifold would no longer fit on top of the engine. Is there anyway to get it bolted back on or is it just something you have to forfeit when installing a throttle body spacer ?
We have seen the SR Performance Throttle Body Spacer cause fitment issues with the engine cover, typically when the bolt heads come into contact with the engine cover. If this is the issue you are experiencing, a set of upper bolts with a lower profile bolt head will correct this. If you are having a different issue than this, please contact our Customer Service department so that we may best assist you.
You would see more results from a throttle body than just the spacer.
The SR Performance Throttle Body Spacer will not fit properly with the nitrous plate kit, so we would not be able to confirm the fitment of this spacer with a plate kit and an intake.
Unfortunately, the SR Performance Throttle Body Spacer will not fit on a 2003 Cobra.
Hello, This will increase low to mid range torque from around 800-2500 RPM.
Similar to a new throttle body, a throttle body spacer isn't going to give you true gains in terms of numbers. It will improve your throttle response and allow better air flow, which frees up your other performance modifications to run more optimally, which is where your power gains are really going to come from.
Yes it's an easy direct bolt on. I had the same setup took maybe 15 min.
The SR Performance Throttle Body Spacer (05-10 GT) should not add any whistling noise. Normally an aftermarket CAI will create a noise while driving. The Throttle Body Spacer will simply change the way the air flows by making it spiral.
I didn't have to alter anything. Fit right over new bolts with just a little stretching.
Should add to the benefits of a cold air intake.
no i had to buy another one with built in cover on the plenum the stock one doesnt fit because you have extended the throttle body
