    Features & Details

    • Superior Quality
    • CNC-Cut from 8620 Gear Steel
    • 4.10 Gear Ratio
    • 7.5" Ring Gear Diameter
    • For Street or Track Use
    • Fits 2005-2010 V6 Mustangs
Improve Performance. Wake up your V6-powered pony for faster acceleration off the line with a set of 4.10 Motive Performance Plus gears. A steeper set of gears will get you into your power band faster for faster launches and more punch off the line.

Superior Construction. These Motive ring and pinon gears are CNC cut from high grade 8620 gear steel, and factory lapped for precision fit. Each set is hardness tested prior to leaving the factory to ensure the highest quality.

Recommended Upgrade. Changing the rear axle gear ratio will throw off the calibration of your Mustangs speedometer, but a Ford Racing Speedometer Recalibration Tool is an inexpensive way to fix this issue.

Application. This Motive Performance Plus Ring and Pinion Gear set will fit all 2005 to 2010 V6 Ford Mustangs equipped with a 7.5" rear end. A master bearing kit is recommended by most installers, especially on high mileage vehicles, see drop down option above.

Technical Note. Installation costs will vary, but a good rule of thumb is between $250 and $300. Be sure to work with a reliable shop that you trust for installations.

If I want to put these in my 2010 V6 and I'm already running a bama custom tune, do I still need a recalibration tool or will going through bama for a new tune solve that issue?

    • BAMA will be able to tune for these gears when installed.

Will this make 20-40 roll race times slower ? I know launch time from 0-60 is vey much improved but i havent seen many post about roll races.

    • Hi, I do not recommend using these Motive Performance Plus 4.10 Gears in a roll race because you will run out of gear pretty fast, I suggest using Motive Performance Plus 3.73 Gears Item# 21107G05 using 3.73s your power band will be longer. Here is the link

Will the 4.10 gears work on the stock v6 diff? I was wondering of the 4.10 gears would fit with the stock 2007 v6 diff or would i have to get a LSD?

    • yes it should work fine. but go ahead and spend a little extra to get the diff rebuild kit. it is deffently wourth your while.

I have a 2010 V6 of course. And was wondering is this part all I need? No kit or limited slip differential?

    • In addition to this Motive Performance Plus 4.10 Gears, we would highly recommend a few items. They are not technically required, but to avoid any issues we would recommend these items below: The Motive Rear End Installation and Bearing Kit - item 21202 The Ford Performance Friction Modifier - Item 50377 The Royal Purple Max Gear 75w90 Gear Oil - Item 45003

I'd like to know the main difference between these 4.10 and the 3.73 gears for a 2010 v6. Which Are recommended more ?

    • The higher the gear ratio, the quicker your Mustang will reach the top end of each gear. With that being said, you also lose out on your top speed the higher the gear ratio for that same reason. So, a 4.10 will likely put more stress on your Mustang relative to the 3.73, but of course you'll get a quicker 0-60 with the 4.10s. Now, we suggest that if you have a manual and drive on the highway or similar driving, you may be better off with a 3.73. With an automatic, the overdrive feature allows less issue of stress to the engine so you can get away with 4.10s regardless if you are driving on the highway.

How can i determine if these will fit my car or not?

    • These Motive Performance Plus 4.10 Gears are designed for Mustangs with the 7.5" rear end. The 7.5" rear end was used for V6 Mustangs through 2010 before it was replaced in 2011 with the 8.8"

its a mess but worth it to install

Well i bought these and when i went to install them i noticed some problems. the number one problem was that the cross shaft pin absolutely has to be grinded down if you do not buy the posi trac diffriental. the ring gear is alot thicker than that of the stock 323 gears. another thing is that the recommended parts does not say anything about this. TRUST ME IT IS A MESS TO INSTALL BY YOUR SELF BUT WELL WORTH THE POWER DIFFERENCE. IT IS NICE TO SHIFT INTO FOURTH GEAR AND HEAR A BARK WITH BRAND NEW TIRES LOL AND BY THE WAY EVERY ONE THAT COMPLAINS ABOUT THE WHINING NEEDS TO CHECK THEIR BACK LASH ON THEIR CRUSH SLEEVE BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT CAUSES IT TO WHINE

      AWESOME performance...HUGE SMILE!!!

I myself would wonder what performance rear gears would bring and all I can say is WOW! I was amazed with the performance and differnence it brought. Along with Diablo 93 tune, Flowmaster exhaust Ford T-Lok, and AFE CAI, this performance is a MUST and will not disappoint you. I highly recommend this product. It brought a huge smile on my face (as others have said) and I'm sure it will add a smile to yours..Thank you American Muscle for the great product, quality, shipping and savings!!! Overall, it really wakes up your car and should be one of the first performance mod.

I have many upgrades on my 2008 V6 and this BY FAR is the best I have ever installed. Dont even consider 3.73s ANYONE. The 4.10s do not decrease top end, because you can rev up higher and they pull SO hard. Insulated with a lsd, cost me 271.26! Nice!

      Manual Tranny w/ 4.10\'s

Now I\'ve heard that 4.10\'s with a manual transmission are a bad mix. The gears, they say, would be too short. The Facts: 1st - Pretty short, but not too short. PULLS! 2nd - Pulls like 1st did with stock gears 3rd - Surprising improvement 4th - Great for slaughtering traffic 5th - 2600rpm @ 70mph. Revs are a little high at freeway speeds, but in town, 5th is actually usable. If I did it all over again, I\'d might get 3.73\'s just because of the freeway revs, but I do NOT regret this mod. If all you\'re looking for is acceleration, 4.10\'s are the way to go.

      4.10 Gears (V6)

Got these installed and at first I was taking it easy on the car and began to wonder why I'd bothered getting the gears. Then I stepped on it and that was the moment I fell in love. The car pulls much better combined with the 7.5" Tlok.

      4.10s make a huge difference

My pony pulls real hard now I definitely recommend these gears to anyone wanting to have a seat pinning experience on a V6 I didn't have enough cash for a posi unit but my stang still runs like a champ (Best man for differential work in the Rio Grande Valley is Johnny Gears)

These really wake your pony up big time. Be sure you have a tuner or your speedometer will be off by about 15mph. Also be sure to be very gentle with your throttle for the first 500 miles or you'll break your gears.

      awesome gears

These gears are awesome! They dont whine, but if your gears whine, just take them back to the shop. Thats what I did and the only thing wrong was that the crush sleeve needed to be crushed a little bit more. Thanks American Muscle!

Jumps straight into the power band.

It is a great performance enhancement that I'm glad I undertook. It's like a whole new machine. My baby jumps up and goes with the press of the pedal. You won't be disappointed with this if ya throw in a BAMA tune to get it all tied into a nice li'l package. Installed this along with the Ukon LSD!

It seems the mods that have the biggest difference are power adders and gears. I ditched the freeway 3.31 gears for the 4.10's and I'm not disappointed. When combined with my nitrous, turbo, and isopropyl injection, it packs a heck of a punch.

Gears are the way to go

I had these gears installed along with a Ford Racing T-Lok. I'm still in my break in period, but the difference between these 4.10's and my stock 3.31's is really noticeable. i really get put back into my seat when i jump on it. Best mod i have done so far with the T-Lok.

      Awesome times ten!

I can't believe that this wasn't the absolute first thing I did to my v6. Although the installation was a nightmare (nothing against American Muscle's parts, it was all on our end). One hint is either have all and I mean ALL the tools required to do the install or it is gonna stretch the process out for days. This product was awesome though, everything was good and hearty, no cheap parts here. I also recommend ordering with the bearing kit just because it is easier to replace than be careful with the ones you have. I think the only thing that could have helped this process along was to have an installation manual, there was a lot of searching and guessing on what to do. Gears 1st SHORT but pulls hard 2nd pulls like first, I can now squeal my tires in second. 3rd awesome at slaughtering in town traffic 4th feels like third 5th feels like you're in fourth, but runs a little high on the rpms at highway speeds, that was to be anticipated though. Overall I give this a five/five and I'll never go back to stock!

      Couldnt ask for more!!!

This made my v6, with only exhaust, and intake, feel like my dads 2004 v8! These gears are no joke, and will greatly improve your acceleration! Just make sure you know what your doing when putting them in, because the slightest overlook, could turn into the biggest problem, but I do recommend buying a posi-traction differential along with it, and you will be running right next to the GTs!

Great for acceleration but maybe too much for me

Great gears. Shop took about a whole day to install these. About 5-10 hours and it cost me roughly $550. The acceleration gain is highly noticeable and it completely kicks up with my Vortech V-3 Si Supercharger. I just got it installed so no issues yet but the only issue that I care about is gas mileage at highway speeds. 60-80mph and I'm up at the 3k rpms and my gas is going. If anyone is a highway cruiser then I would definitely take it into consideration of looking into the 3.73 gears other than that I'm pretty satisfied! Also it will throw off your speedometer but that's to be expected.
