Justin: Hey, everybody. I'm Justin with americanmuscle.com and today we're taking a closer look at and installing the MP Concepts Quarter Window Scoops available in gloss black fitting your 2016 and newer Coupe. You should be checking out the MP Concepts options for your sixth gen if you're looking for a modern interpretation on that classic design, would prefer to keep things black as opposed to maybe color matching everything. Now as far as your features are concerned here, guys, the MP Concept Scoops are exactly as advertised. They are essentially a nonfunctional scoop designed to cover the quarter window and add a little bit more aggressiveness to the overall styling of your Camaro. Now a lot of owners out there go with the more traditional louvered look if you're trying to maybe achieve that old-school or retro vibe. But again, these are a bit more of a modern twist in my opinion which I feel fits more the angular body of the sixth gens a little bit better overall. But again, everything is subjective with styling. Now either way, guys, I will always encourage you to check out the rest of our selection here at AM before pulling the trigger and while you're checking out the different options, browse that customer review section and the customer submitted images because that way you can get a better sense of what style might look best for your own ride and you get a better sense of what everything looks like when installed.Your construction's gonna be very solid for the MP Concepts options thanks largely to the injection molded ABS plastic build which will be very lightweight but also very durable. Now another plus with these scoops is that they are finished in gloss black as you guys can see. That means they're ready to install right out of the box using your included 3M tape. Now other more affordable options out there might require a little bit of additional prep or even some paint work to get installed. But that's not the case here as the MP Concept Scoops, again, gloss black finish, very consistent and looks great right out of the box.Now the scoops again, I did talk about a little bit, but they will install using the included 3M tape and all of your prep supplies which will be very valuable and almost essential for having these stay in place on your ride for a very long time. All for right around 150 bucks which I will say for a pair of painted scoops is pretty reasonable overall. Now if you did wanna step into a different option, maybe color match to your Camaro, well, you're gonna have to spend a little bit more dough at the end of the day but what I will say again for the MP options here, something that is ready to go, ready to install right out of the box. The price point is certainly fair.Switching gears. Let's get into the install. And the site's gonna call this a solid one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. At least 30 minutes, maybe a little bit more depending on how much time you take to prep. Now your install, guys, is going to strongly depend on the quality of your prep work. So definitely take your time. Make sure you get this right. Make sure you utilize all of the cleaning supplies and the 3M adhesion promoter to make sure these things don't go flying off on you on the highway. But now to give you a better idea of just how that prep work might look on your own ride at home, check out our detailed walkthrough now.Man: The tools you'll need for this project are a utility knife or scissors, the supplied 3M double-sided tape and some rubbing alcohol. Hi, everyone. Today we're installing a set of quarter window scoops on our Camaro. So, let's get started.First thing we're gonna wanna do is make sure that we've got a clean surface for our scoops to attach to. We've already cleaned our windows. Now we're just gonna give it an extra shot by cleaning off with some alcohol. You don't need to clean the whole window with the alcohol. Basically, you just need to go around the edges like so. Now you do wanna come back a little bit farther on the quarter windows because of how the scoop is going to attach. Just go around the edges real good. And I'll give that a couple of minutes to dry off. And now while we're doing that, we can go ahead and prepare the scoop to attach it to the window.I like to do the same thing to the scoops that we did to the window itself. Just use an alcohol pad or, if you don't have a pad, you can just use alcohol and a clean cloth. And just go along the edges where we're going to be applying the tape. Now as you can see from looking at this scoop here, you'll know why I mentioned earlier to go a little bit further back from the front of the window because of this wide section here on the scoop itself. So, once you've got that wiped down with alcohol, give that a couple minutes to actually dry up. And then we can go ahead and start applying the supplied 3M double-sided tape. We're just gonna start rolling out the tape along the edge of our scoop here. And we'll go up to this front gap on the scoop itself. And just cut that off with our utility knife or you can use a pair of scissors or a razorblade, whatever you've got handy. Go ahead and press that down. And then go to the other side. Now we'll go ahead and apply some on this end piece here.Like I said, just go around pressing down on the tape to make sure that it adheres to the scoop like we want it to. And now we can go ahead and test fit this to make sure that it's actually gonna fit on the window like we think it will.Since we're not making this a permanent addition to our vehicle, we're not gonna remove all of the backing. We're just gonna remove a little bit so that we can stick it to the window and show you what it'll look like. When you do this, of course, you'll want to remove all of the backing. So, we'll just peel this back a little bit.And like I said, when you do this, you'll remove all of the backing at once. And then just like our test fit, we'll go ahead and start in this back corner. Kinda roll it around the top, make sure the top is where we want it. And then press it into place. Now you'll wanna give a pretty good, firm pressure all around the edges where the tape is at just to make sure that it seats properly. And then I like to recommend giving it about 24 hours to sit in about 60-degree weather or more just to give it a chance to really adhere and then you can go ahead and drive it. Now that it's installed on this side, we can go ahead and repeat that whole process for the other side. And that wraps up our review and install of the MP Concepts Quarter Window Scoops in gloss black for the '16 to '23 Camaro Coupe. Thanks for watching and remember, for all things Camaro, keep it right here at americanmuscle.com.
