Jake: Jake here for AmericanMuscle. And today, I'm taking a look at this MP Concept's Rear Window Louver in Gloss Black for 2016 and newer Camaro Coupes. If you're looking for a way to add some of that unique old-school muscle car style to your modern Camaro in a way that's quick and easy, this is gonna be just right for you. There's not much that screams muscle car style louder than a set of louvers. And a set of rear window louvers like these are still absolutely iconic. This one, in particular, features a five-slot open louver design and they bring a classically aggressive style to the rear end of your Camaro. They keep some of the angular stylistic elements that work so well on the rest of the Camaro. And as you can see here, the louvers are pretty open as well. So this is not gonna kill your rearward visibility, which is important given how little there is on the Camaro anyway, so you will be able to see out of the back windows still. And the whole thing is obviously finished in this really nice gloss black that's gonna look good against any paint color and it's also gonna match well with the rest of your Camaros plastic trim. And it will blend in nicely too if you've got some tint on your windows. The finish also means that it will just look good, but it's also gonna be durable. Speaking of durability, this is made from molded ABS plastic and it's designed to fit over the rear window of your Camaro perfectly. Now, ABS plastic is known to be lightweight impact resistance, this is perfect for a car that you drive every day because it's gonna be able to stand up to the elements. Now, not everybody likes to think about cleaning their car, but if you're gonna drive your car daily, especially with this on, you might be thinking about how you're gonna be able to clean this or the window underneath. Since again, talking about visibility, that's rather important. Luckily, MP Concepts has thought of that. For easy cleaning, it features a convenient lift-off design. So the attachment points are nine of these little brackets right here with nuts on them, so you can just undo these nuts and lift the whole thing off to make it easy to clean both the louvers and the window. But more on that momentarily.First, I wanna touch on the pricing coming in at just about $300. I think this represents a pretty good value as far as louvers go. Now, this is a pretty classic style. It's not quite as extreme as some of them, and it's also not made of aluminum like some of the really high-end ones. But for a style upgrade, something that's gonna feature this nice finish, a good solid construction, and easy installation, I don't really think you could ask too much more of this. Now, about that install, because I promised I'd come back to it. This is again super easy. We already kind of covered a little bit of it. A one out of three on the difficulty meter is where it lands, and you only need one tool aside from your hands and the stuff that's in the box to do it. You're gonna start by cleaning that window really well and you're gonna attach these mounting points using the 3M double-sided tape that's provided in the kit. You also have some alcohol swabs and adhesion promoter to make sure those double-sided tape pieces stick really well and you've even got some of these little foam blocks to make sure that this isn't gonna rattle around once you've got it on the car. But that's really all there is to it. And to show you exactly how to get this done, let's head on over to the install bay right now.Man: Tools acquired for this install include a couple of microfiber cloths, an 8-millimeter wrench, an alcohol prep pad, and adhesive promoter. What's up, guys? Today, we're gonna be installing a set of louvers on our Camaro. Our first step's gonna be to mount all of our brackets. So, let's get started. So to install our bracket, we have our bracket with our threaded post and a nut. So we're gonna be putting our bracket through on the inside here. Now, when you lay these down, you're gonna want to have the side with the threaded post closest to the edge. And then we can take our nut on the other side and screw that onto our post. Now we can thread our nut on, just get it about hand-tight so it holds the bracket into place. So now we can thread on our nut and then we'll take an 8-millimeter wrench just to tighten it down a little bit. These are plastic threads, so make sure you be careful with them. And now we'll just do the same thing for the rest of our brackets. So now next, we can take our double-sided tape on the back of our brackets and we're gonna peel it back a little bit and dog gear it, that way we can lay everything down. We'll take our nuts off, remove our window louvers, and then we can peel back our double-sided tape and stick them down in the proper position. So our next step's gonna be to pull back on our double-sided tape backing and dog gear that. So we're gonna peel it up at the corner here and we're gonna peel it back just enough so that we have a little bit of overhang of our backing over the edge of our louver, that way we can lay everything down, get it into the proper position, and then we'll have that overhang that we can pull the backing tape out with. So now we can repeat that same process for the rest of our brackets. And then these bottom two, we're gonna dog gear inwards because we have a closer gap to the inside than we do to the outside. Now, before we install our louvers onto the car, we're gonna have to go ahead and clean up our windshield. So we're gonna be using our alcohol prep pad basically along the whole black border of the windshield, although this would be a great time to clean your entire windshield before you get the louvers installed. Now, our kit does include adhesive promoter that you can lay onto the windshield just to help that double-sided tape stick a little bit better because that's the only mounting point between the louvers and the windshield. We're not gonna be laying this down just for demonstration purposes, but at home, you just lay that down on your windshield to help that adhesion. So now we're ready to install our louvers onto the car. So we're gonna lay it down, line it up, and then we can peel our double-sided tape backing and stick it down. It might be a good idea to grab yourself a buddy to give you a hand with this so that you can line up one side while your buddy lines up the other. So, now with our louvers laid in place, we can start to pull back on that double-sided tape to stick everything down. So, lastly, we can install these foam blocks. Now, this piece of double-sided tape, we're gonna peel back. The sticky side is gonna go on the underside of our louver, and then the foam part's gonna sit against the windshield, that way when we're driving the wind doesn't force our louver down and make contact with the windshield. Now we're gonna skip this top one since this is pretty secure from our bracket here. So, that'll wrap up this review and install of the MP Concepts Rear Window Louvers and Gloss Black for your 2016 and newer Camaro Coupe. Thank you for watching. And for all things Camaro, keep it right here at americanmuscle.com.
