Review & Installation Video

Review & Install Video

Hey, guys. Stephanie with americanmuscle.com, here with the review of the Nitrous Outlet Plate System, for the 2011 and newer GT Mustang. In this video, we're gonna talk about the different components of this kit, and we're going to talk about the install. The install for this one is a little time consuming, but overall it isn't difficult. We're gonna call it a two out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter, because you are looking at some delicate stuff, running lines, and things of that nature. The Nitrous Outlet Plate System is going to be for the 2011 and newer Coyote owners out there, that are looking for the most powerful, Single Stage Wet Plate System that's available. This kit comes with five different jets that include a 200, and 250 horsepower option, which are larger than anything offered by the other systems in this site, for you guys that have big plans for your cars. So, looking at your jetting options right away since that's one of the main concerns here, this kit is gonna include 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 horsepower jets. You do have some options here, but just know that you can't go lower than a 50 shot and that this kit does give you the highest horsepower jetting option that's currently available on the site, with a 250 shot option. If you don't have plans of running a 250 shot, you might wanna check out some other options on this site that might be better suited for you, and maybe you can save a couple bucks while you're at it. Getting back to this particular kit, what I like about this kit is that it's vehicle specific. This isn't a generic kit. This has vehicle specific solenoid brackets, pre-bent hardline, and a specific fuel line adapter, so the kit will work with your stock fuel lines. This will make for a clean install and a good fitment. Looking at the individual components, this is a big kit, but it's gonna include everything that you're going to need. You have a 10-pound bottle which will arrive to you empty, just so you guys know. Your black anodized nitrous plate, your jets, fuel rail adapter so you can keep your stock lines relay in harness, hardline, solenoid brackets, your wide open throttle switch and bracket and all of the necessary hardware. So, getting back to the basics for a second, this is a Single Stage Wet Plate System. When I say that this is a wet system, it means that this plate right here has nitrous and fuel discharge ports, that are designed to completely saturate the air intake charge, and give the best mixture possible. You want a good mixture because it's gonna enter the air stream better, and be distributed equally to each cylinder. When it comes to price, you can expect to spend just south of the $900 mark. Now, if you wanna compare that price to other kits that are available, you have to keep in mind the jets that this kit offers, and the fact that this kit gives you that 200 and 250 horsepower option. You also have to keep in mind that this is a plate kit, which is gonna be slightly different in price than some of the other less expensive Wet kit options. Moving on to the install, the install for this is gonna be a two out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter, and you can expect to spend about four hours or so getting everything done. I'll say if you've done this or something like it before, or if you have a ton of experience, the install's fairly simple, but I wouldn't really recommend anyone taking this on as their first project with their car. You need a handful of different tools to get the job done, but nothing out of the ordinary. Gonna glaze over the details here just to give you guys an idea since we aren't showing you a full install, but there are step by step instructions that come with the kit. You'll have some assembly of the components once you get the kit, and you're gonna wanna take your time and make sure everything is assembled correctly. You need to pull the throttle body, install your plate, and mount the solenoids, install your adapter for the fuel lines, place the nitrous and fuel jets to your desired horsepower, run all of your lines, and finish up the install with your electrical wiring. Wrapping things up here with the Nitrous Outlet Plate System, this is a Single Stage Wet Plate System that offers you a shot of up to 250 horsepower. The kit comes with everything that you need for the install. It works with the stock fuel lines, and you can check it out more online right here at americanmuscle.com.

Will this kit fit a 2017 Mustang gt with a Roush phase 1 supercharger?

  • With a proper tune, this kit will certainly work with a supercharged and turbocharged applications.

i have the nitrous system but im wondering which manifold would be better for the nitrous. ive been told gt350 manifold ive also been told the boss manifold and the cobra jet manifold, just wanted to get one last suggestion.

  • The better intake manifold for the 2011-2014 models and this nitrous would be the Boss 302 intake manifold, item 50179. For a 2015-2017 model, we would recommend the Ford Performance GT350 5.2L Voodoo Intake Manifold, item 390664. http://www.americanmuscle.com/boss-intake-manifold-2011gt.html http://www.americanmuscle.com/frpp-gt350-intake-manifold.html

i have a GT 2016 With a Stock Engine i am Wondering if installing a Nitros Kit will harm the engine, and there is any upgrade i need to add for the engine before i install this Kit ...

  • Hello! Whether or not the Nitrous Outlet Plate System will damage your motor depends entirely on the tune, the installation, and how hard you push the car. The biggest upgrade you'll need with this kit is a high quality custom tune.

I have 2015 GT with Ford Performance Stage 2 upgrade. Is this nitrous system compatible with the GT350 throttle body and CAI and the Ford tune now on car. Also what's the max HP jet suggested if this is compatible.

  • Unfortunately, this kit is not designed to work with the GT350 throttle body. This kit is plate injection, so you will need a plate that fits with the GT350. The highest jet is a 250 HP jet included in this kit. I suggesting calling Nitrous Outlet to see what the largest jet you can use.

I was wondering as far as the tuning, if you run a lower shot of nos (for example a 100 shot) in guessing you still need a custom tune right? No matter the size of the shot

  • It is definitely recommended to tune the car regardless of the shot you are running. This will ensure that everything is functioning properly.

Would this kit fit the 2015 v6 3.7 mustang with a 73mm throttle body, or at all? What modifications would it need if any, and if it is not compatible what would be my/our option?

  • Unfortunately, this kit will not fit with a 2015 V6. This is plate injection, meaning it attaches a plate to the throttle body and that is how the nitrous is injected The V6 does not come with the same size throttle body as a GT. You would want to get a kit that is designed for your car so that everything fits and works properly.

    Great complete kit

Kit is complete and downloadable instructions from the Nitrous Outlet site are pretty good. The fitment with an aftermarket CAI is very, very tight. I had to order additional items to route the purge solenoid. If you have some experience under the hood you can completely install the kit in a weekend. Also, the electrical wiring can be daunting for a first timer. The more components you add, the more complex the wiring, so be mindful. Overall though, great kit for the price.

    Nitrous plate kit 2012

This product does not come with a long enough hose to connect the gas line. The gas line adapter points the wrong way. The gas line is designed to fit a non plated system. I had to buy an extra part to make it work.
