Pound for pound, the Power Stop Z26 Street Warrior Pad and Rotor Kit might just offer the best bang for your buck when it comes to adding stopping power, but on a budget. Now the Z26 kit will fit non-Brembo '05 to '14 GTs and will be a step up in stopping power over Power Stop's Z23 kit, thanks largely to the carbon ceramic pads which are included. This kit will also toss in a brand new set of zinc-coated slotted and drilled rotors and everything is going to come to a $160 price tag, which I feel is very reasonable given the parts. Now, you're install will be relatively straightforward, so let's go strong one out three wrenches on the difficulty meter here because yes, there is some work involved, but it is very, very straightforward. So, for those wondering, Power Stop is a very popular option when it comes to affordable brake upgrades here on the site, and I like the fact that they give Mustang owners a few different flavors if you will when it comes to how aggressive they want to get with their brakes. For instance, they have the extremely bare-bones OE replacement kit, which will also be the most affordable, all the way down to their super aggressive Track Day stuff and everything in between. But the Z26 kit that we are talking about here today will offer a pad that will be one step below their Track Day option in regards to aggressiveness and material while also pairing it up with that brand new set of slotted and drilled rotors. However, since the pad is so unique here to this kit, let's talk about it a little bit more. Again, this is a carbon-ceramic option and that's going to offer a little bit more bite compared to the Z23 kit that we mentioned earlier, which is going to utilize a more run of the mill ceramic option. Now, Power Stop even claims that their Z26 pad will be both noise and dust-free. However, it's been my experience that the carbon-ceramic stuff will typically produce a little bit more of both when compared to a straight up ceramic pad. Now, full disclosure, I do have a carbon-ceramic pad currently on my S197, and yes, I will say the stopping power is rather impressive. However, I do pick up a little bit more dust than before, while noise is minimal at best. Now, in fact, don't take my word for it here guys, this is a great time to remind you to head on over to the customer review section as there are a lot of guys out there saying a lot of positive stuff about the Power Stop kit, including that big-time upgrade to stopping power. But obviously, the pads are only half of the equation here with the Power Stop kit, you're also going to be receiving a brand new set of rotors. And as you can see, they have been given that slotted and drilled treatment to help combat some of the heat and fade, but at the same time looking very cool behind your favorite set of wheels. Now, these cast rotors have been mill balanced and rotor run out has been tested to be within OE spec, which basically means you shouldn't experience any nasty vibration or inconsistencies with the rotors themselves. Finally, guys, the silver zinc plating is in place to help reduce any unsightly surface rust or corrosion on the non-friction areas of the rotors themselves. Now, just a quick heads up here, guys, Power Stop does offer a matching setup for the rear of your S197 as well, which you can also find here at AM. So, if you're looking to freshen up all four corners of your S197, we've got you covered, and pricing for the rears will be a little bit cheaper than the front and all together looking to be around 300 bucks for all four corners at the end of the day. So, very much affordable when compared to some of your other big brake options that you will encounter here on the site. Now, a big thing to keep in mind when installing a new set of pads and rotors like this is to follow Power Stop's bedding procedures. This typically involves a few slowdowns or stops repeatedly in order to ensure proper operation, but also proper performance of the brand new setup. But wrapping things up here, gang, if you're looking for an awesome way to really pump up the braking performance on your non-Brembo S197 GT, then you'll want to check out the Power Stop Z26 kit right here at americanmuscle.com.

Supercharged Braking Power. The zero to 60 of your Stang is impressive, but the PowerStop Z26 Street Warrior Brake & Rotor Pad Kit's 60 to zero is even more impressive. This powerful kit features perfectly matched ceramic pads and drilled, slotted rotors, plus heavy-duty stainless steel hardware — everything you need to take your braking power to the next level.
Powerful Rotors. When you've got bigger wheels or more power than a stock configuration, your brakes have to work harder, which means more heat and more pressure. For that reason, PowerStop includes their Z26 Street Warrior Rotors in this kit. They're cast in pure iron using G3000 metallurgy for incredible durability and then coated in silver zinc for superior rust and corrosion resistance.
Vented, Drilled and Slotted. PowerStop Rotors are precision-drilled and vented to keep them cool in extreme braking environments. They're also strategically slotted, which helps wick away debris, water and dust for a consistently clean braking surface. All of these design features combine to give you more reliable performance, better bite and longer life.
Carbon Fiber Ceramic Brake Pads. To be a true street warrior, you need extreme stopping power that won't interfere with your everyday driving. The PowerStop Z26 Street Warrior Brake & Rotor Pad Kit includes Extreme Performance pads made with carbon-reinforced ceramic. That superior construction means a longer lifespan, more consistent bite in varying temperatures, quieter operation and less dust.
Quieter and Cleaner. Let's face it — dirty, noisy wheels just aren't acceptable on a high-performance machine like your Pony. Thanks to their carbon fiber ceramic construction, stainless steel shims and slotted design, the Extreme Performance pads in the Z26 Street Warrior Kit produce minimal dust and operate almost silently.
Bolt-On Installation. In your kit, you'll find everything you need to install your new Z26 brake pads and rotors. With some moderate mechanical skill, you should be enjoying your new braking power in around three hours.
Entire Front Kit. This kit comes complete with everything you need to upgrade your Mustang's braking, including (2) Pairs of Front Brake Pads, (2) Front Rotors, stainless steel hardware and high-temp lubricant.
PowerStop Warranty. PowerStop offers a 3-Year, 36,000-mile warranty on your new Z26 pads and rotors.
Application. The PowerStop Z26 Street Warrior Brake & Rotor Pad Kit is built to fit any 2005-2010 GT and 2011-2014 Standard GT, excluding GT models with Brembo calipers.
