Excellent!

Sound so good!!! Popping sound is amazing. Installing is easy but fit it in stock pipes that require a lot of strength. For that kind of price , this is exactly what I expected

How much louder is this compared to the Borla touring Cat Back? Also, will there be any drone whatsoever? Any sound clips available?

nvkicks

  • The Pypes Street Pro Touring Axle-Back Exhaust (15-17 V6) will be substantially louder than the Borla Touring exhaust. The Borla kit is going to be a bigger muffler to help give a much quieter but deep tone where the Pypes Street Pro Touring is going to be a smaller single chambered muffler that will allow for a lot more airflow. Any aftermarket exhaust will have drone, the only kit that will not have any drone will be your factory exhaust. Unfortunately we do not have any sound clips available at the moment for this kit.

Is this exhaust quieter / less aggressive than the Borla type S axle back? (Looking for a louder-than-stock but not too loud exhaust for the V6 convertible).

JohnP

  • The Pypes Street Pro Touring Axle-Back Exhaust substantially louder than the Borla Touring exhaust (as a comparison) but is slightly quieter than the the Borla Type S exhaust. The Pypes Street Pro Touring is going to be a smaller single chambered muffler that will allow for a lot more airflow than your factory mufflers.

Between the Pypes Street Pro Touring axle-back and the Roush axle-back which is really louder? and also why? the way they are built looks similar, what would cause one to be louder than the other?

karatekidd

  • Between the Pypes Street Pro Touring axle-back and the Roush axle-back the Roush is the louder system. The construction and design are similar and there are many factors that can effect volume such as thickness and type of materials the exhaust is made with.

In the installed video, the tips look like they are sagging from the bumper. Is this how this exhaust is set up or does that vary on the install?

JohnS

  • When installed, the tips do not sag. The hangers of this exhaust is different than the stock exhaust and since the cans are of a shorter length it gives you an illusion that the exhaust is sagging. Hope this helps!

Hey a friend of mine is selling this same Ecoboost exhaust. I wanna know if it will fit my 2017 v6??????

Tshome

  • Unfortunately, this axle-back is only designed to work on an Ecoboost. It will not fit properly on a V6. You will need the Pypes Street Pro Touring Axle-Back Exhaust (15-17 V6), item # 390322B, (http://www.americanmuscle.com/pypes-street-pro-touring-axleback-1517v6.html).

I am really interested to hear what this sounds like on the 2015 Mustang. I do not want the raspy sound and like the deep Sound. Are you all planning on making a video of this product?

Pr3dsfan

  • There may be a video in the future for this axle-back. I suggest going onto Youtube and looking up this exhaust on a 2015 Mustang. There may be multiple exhaust clips that can help give you a better idea of what this will sound like on your car.

    Great Sound and Look

Installed the Pypes Street Pro Touring Axle-Back exhaust system on my 2016 V6 Mustang. Installation took around 1 hour...pretty simple process. Had a slight problem with an offset figment on the right/passenger side muffler. Got in contact with Pypes and they sent me a new one that fit perfect and looks great. The look and shine of the stainless steel tips certainly adds to the overall appearance of the car as well. There is little to no drone with this axle-back exhaust and it really gives your V6 Mustang a deep, aggressive sound.

    Poor fitment

I recently installed the Pypes Pro Touring exhaust on my 2016 v6 mustang. The sound is nice and there is very little drone. However, I was quite disappointed with the fitment. The exhaust tips sit somewhat crooked in the openings and the entire system is loose as it is supported by only one hanger. Also one of the clamps was different from the other and had to be modified to work properly. It took longer than expected to install due to all of the adjustments that had to be made. Im now looking to buy the Flow Master American Thunder exhaust as a replacement.

    Drone attack

I totally loved the sound driving in the city, but go over 50 to 70 plus MPH and your ears will start to ring from the drone. Maybe it's just me. Your choice though

    Aggressive deep sound!

Installed these myself and took about an hour more or less. Very easy install. When i started the car i noticed immideately the deeper growl!! I was shocked at how great it sounded! No raspyness at all while driving on the highway! Extremely pleased!!

    Low tone, not too loud.

Hopefully you're doing your research as part of deciding which exhaust will make you happy. Having a V6, I wanted an exhaust that gives a deeper tone, sounds aggressive when accelerating, has a "blurble" when you let off the gas, but wasn't raspy or crazy loud. The loudness rating is low compared to other exhausts, but when I rev the engine while going through an underpass, it makes a deep mean roar that always puts a smile on my face. This exhaust delivered on all of these points that I wanted and was just the right price. There is a little drone, but nothing too bad; I think you'll get a drone with any aftermarket exhaust though. Both AM and Pypes customer support gave helpful advice when needed. Be sure to listen to various exhausts on YouTube with headphones on- that's what ultimately got me to buy this exhaust.

Review from Pypes Street Pro Touring Axle-Back Exhaust (15-17 EcoBoost)

good note, not a lot of volume

It sounds good, but is not much louder than stock. It has a nice tone, but could probably use more volume. I bought this because I didn't want a system that would be clearly audible from within a cop car 100 yards down the road, as that has gotten me in trouble in the past. This system is definitely audible within your cabin, yet not audible inside a nearby cop car!
