Street or Strip. Powergrip clutches are great for modified street/strip Mustangs. And if you are replacing your clutch it is also a good idea to replace or resurface your flywheel at the same time to prolong the life of your new Clutch.

Superior Design. RAM Powergrip Mustang Clutch kits utilizes a unique blend of 900 and 300 series friction materials and increased clamp loads to give you the holding power needed for aggressive street driving, occasional drag strip use, and the all around performance you expect from your clutch system.

Application. The RAM Powergrip Clutch kits are the performance clutch for your street/strip Mustang. The Powergrip Mustang Clutch is designed for the 2005 to 2010 4.6L V8 Mustangs with a TR3650 manual transmission that have upgraded to a 26 spline input shaft, including the GT and Bullitt models. Some chatter will occur on takeoff.

    • Fits: 2005-2010 GT with a TR-3650 and a 26 spline input shaft upgrade
    • Disc Dimensions: 11" X 26T X 1-1/8"
    • Horse Power Rating: Up to 550
    • Includes: Pressure plate, clutch disc, and alignment tool

It's recommended that you add an SR Performance Braided Stainless Steel Hydraulic Clutch Line during your new clutch install. Stock plastic clutch lines can fail during aggressive driving. Stainless steel clutch lines help prevent gear lockout and provide superior clutch pedal feel, even under the toughest conditions.

Technical Note. The GT500 came with a dual disc clutch from the factory, this RAM single disc clutch requires the use of RAM's billet steel or a nodular iron (explosion resistant) flywheel for proper installation. The GT500's stock flywheel is not compatible. Wondering what kind of transmission you have? Click Here to find out!

      Not for the faint hearted

Quite a challenge this one - RAM technical help saying one thing and AM saying another. If you are looking for a straight replacement for your stock clutch think hard about paying the full (exorbitant) price a dealer will set you back. Clearly if you know what you are doing then this route is certainly cheaper BUT only if you have the know how to install yourself. My install set me back $500 labor and the shop wanted to charge nearly double that given how difficult it was to install. ISSUES : RAM technical help line did warn - after I bought the kit - that they did not recommend this kit as a replacement for the stock 2 plate clutch Strong left foot. Coming days will tell as the clutch beds in, but initial findings are that the clutch needs a strong left foot - I'd say its 30 to 40% heavier to engage than the stock - what gives me heart is most of the on line blogs say the clutch should be no heavier than stock - so hope it improves with use. BOTTOM LINE : NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED but can save a ton of money.
