The SEC10 Quarter Marker Smoked Tint Kit that we have here today will be the most affordable way for all 2015 and newer owners out there looking to tint those factory markers on their S550. Now this kit is going to include 2 pieces of 5-mil PVC vinyl that has been cut perfectly to cover up those markers on your ride for right around 50 bucks. Now, the install itself is gonna get a soft one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter here. And the site is gonna call this one an hour to complete from start to finish, probably take you half of that, but regardless, hang with me for a bit and walk you through that job later in the video. Now, when looking to modify the quarter markers in your S550, you certainly have a number of options. Now, if you're looking for that smoked appearance, but you really would like to add some LED upgraded lighting, well, then you might want to consider a full replacement from companies like Axial or even MP Concepts. Now, typically, yes, those full replacements are gonna be a bit more money as you're replacing both markers that typically have some upgraded bells and whistles. However, if you don't really need the fancy LED lighting and those bells and whistles, well, you can always consider a tint kit like the option we have here, which will be a fraction of the price of some of those full-blown replacements while delivering a very similar look. Now as for the vinyl itself here, guys, you're gonna find what is called an optically clear 5-mil vinyl, which basically despite its very dark smoked appearance will still allow for up to 80% of the light to shine through, which is very solid. Now that vinyl again is a 5-mil thick material, which is designed specifically for covering lights on automobiles and does consist of three individual layers. You have your outermost protective layer, the tint layer in the middle, which is gonna give you that kind of smoked appearance, and then last but not least, you have what is called the backing layer, which is going to allow the vinyl to adhere to your markers. Now it does bear mentioning here that the protective layer will not only protect the vinyl piece itself but also add some protection to the marker lenses against any impacts from gravel or debris and so on. Now last but not least, guys, I do want to point out that this product does have well over 100 positive reviews here at americanmuscle.com, along with a ton of customer-submitted images. So, as always, feel free to check those out on the site to see how fellow S550 owners are enjoying their kit. But now comes a time in the video where we want to show you just what it takes to get the SEC10 kit installed on your S550 at home. So, without further ado, let's get into our detailed walk-through right now.Items used for this installation include a spray bottle filled with a soap and water mixture, microfiber towel, and the included squeegee. Getting started with our tint install, guys, it's always important to start with a nice, clean surface before you actually get to adhering your tint to your car. So we got some soapy water mixture here along with a nice clean microfiber towel, we're gonna clean off our area first. With our surface clean, we can remove our tint portion here from the backing paper. Now a big important thing to point out here, guys, is that with this particular tint kit, you don't need to saturate the heck out of it in order for it to get on the car properly. In fact, the more water you spray on it, the worse off you're gonna be because it's gonna take forever to dry. So a very light mist is really all you need with your soapy water mixture. And then you really want to nail your placement first with the vinyl tint kit, because you don't want to go sliding it around, that's how you might end up wrinkling or creasing the vinyl itself. So light mist, nail it the first time and then use your squeegee to work out any extra moisture. The nice thing about it being a little wet is that if you don't nail it the first time, you can lightly peel it off and start again. Also, it helps too, just in case you don't want to scratch the vinyl, go ahead and use your microfiber and wrap it around your squeegee, that'll make a nice soft surface. Once you got it in place, go ahead and use your squeegee to carefully remove any excess water from behind the vinyl itself. And there you go.I'm pretty happy with that outcome. Patience is gonna be your best friend here. Take your time. If you don't nail it the first time, it's all good. The tint is pretty forgiving, gently peel it off, reapply and you should be good to go in a few minutes. Hey, guys, we hope you enjoyed this brief review and install of the SEC10 Smoked Tint here for your quarter markers for that 2015 and newer Mustang at home.
