The SEC10 Reverse Light Tint Kit that we have here today will be the most affordable way for all 2015 and newer owners out there looking to tint that factory reverse light on their ride. Now, this kit will include a single piece of 5-mil PVC vinyl cut perfectly to cover up the reverse light on your ride for right around 30 bucks. Install on the other hand is gonna get a very soft 1 out of 3 wrenches on the difficulty meter and take you about 15 minutes or so to complete from start to finish. I have a feeling it'll take most of you a lot shorter than that. But as always, guys, hang with me for a bit and I'll walk you through that job later in the video. So, when addressing the reverse light or modifying a reverse light in your S550 you certainly have a few different options. Now, if you're looking for that really dark smoked appearance, but maybe with the benefit of some upgraded LED lighting, well then you might wanna consider a full replacement from companies like Axial, Raxiom, or MP Concepts. Now, typically yes, those full replacements are gonna run you a little bit more money as you're obviously replacing the entire housing along with acquiring some upgraded lighting, and some other bells and whistles. However, if you don't need that fancy LED lighting and those bells and whistles, well, you can always consider the tint kit that we have here from SEC10, which will be a fraction of the price of some of those replacements we just talked about and deliver a similar look. Now, as for the vinyl itself well you are gonna find what the company calls an optically clear 5-mil vinyl which despite its dark smoke appearance will still allow for up to 80% of the light to shine through the vinyl which is pretty solid. Now, that vinyl material again is a 5-mil thick cast vinyl material which is designed specifically for covering lights on cars and does consist of three individual layers. You have the outermost protective layer, the tint layer which is gonna live in the middle and give the vinyl its dark smoked appearance, and then last but not least, you have the backing layer which is basically gonna make the vinyl adhere to your reverse light. Now, it does bear mentioning, guys, that that protective layer will not only protect the vinyl piece itself but if you think about it will also help protect your reverse lens from any small impacts from gravel or debris or anything like that. Last but not least, I do wanna point out the fact that this product does have a bunch of positive reviews back on the customer page here, along with some customer submitted images. So, if you haven't done so already, feel free to check those out because it's a great way to see how fellow S550 owners are enjoying their kit and check out some pictures of the ride while you're there. But now comes the time in the video where I stopped yapping and I show you guys what it takes to get this small piece of vinyl installed on your ride. Again, very straightforward job, very flat surface you're working with. So, let's take out the included squeegee. We'll take the vinyl piece over to our ride and get it installed.Items used for this installation include a spray bottle filled with a soap and water mixture, microfiber towel, and the included squeegee. All right, getting started with our vinyl install here, guys, it's always important to start with a clean surface first, that's just gonna give you your best results at the end of the day. So, with that being said, get a nice clean microfiber along with some soap and water mixture, just gonna lightly mist the area first to make sure it's nice and clean. So, with our third brake light nice and clean now we have our SEC10 vinyl in hand. The big difference with this kit versus say maybe a different vinyl graphic that you would put on your car is that you don't wanna overly saturate the area or the vinyl piece itself. With other vinyl designs, you can get things a little saturated, move it around a bit, that's great. That's not really recommended here. You wanna lightly saturate the vinyl itself or the tint. And then at that point, just try to nail your placement the first time around, as opposed to again moving it around because that can cause creases, lines, and so on. So, we're gonna peel it off the backing paper now and then give it a light mist. With the vinyl lightly sprayed, now we can go ahead and apply it carefully to a reverse light down below. Again, we wanna make sure we try to nail this as best we can the first time around. But if you don't necessarily do that, not the end of the world, you can always peel it back off and start again. There is some room for overlap here so you can wrap around the edges. I like to kind of get it on, eyeball it, make sure we got enough excess on all four corners, that way we can wrap it around. And once you're kind of happy with the general placement, go ahead and grab your included squeegee and then start working it into place. All right, so it's going well so far, as you can see we've got the excess up top here. We've got a little excess on the side as well. So, at this time, we're gonna grab our squeegee and kind of use this to help press the extra tint up into that little groove there and help wrap it around the actual reversal light. And at this point too it might be helpful if you have hairdryer, heat gun, something like that to give you a little bit more flexibility with the vinyl itself. All right, and that looks pretty good. So, there you go, guys, not the most difficult install in the world but just definitely take your time. Again, light moisture on the back of your vinyl tint and a good bit of patience, and it'll be all wrapped up in no time.Hey, we hope you enjoyed this review and install of the SEC10 smoked third brake light vinyl kit available for your 2015 and your Mustang at home.
