    Features & Details

    • Affordable.
    • Better Than Resurfacing.
    • Provides Fresh Bedding Surface.
    • Ideal for New Clutch.
    • Fits SPEC #SF64A & SF64S.
Restore Your Flywheel. If you're replacing your Mustang's clutch or just need to have your SPEC flywheel resurfaced as maintenance, consider a SPEC replacement flywheel friction plate. A SPEC replacement friction plate is designed to fit your existing SPEC flywheel perfectly, providing a brand new surface for your new clutch.

    Better Than Resurfacing.
Replacing your flywheel's friction plate is significantly better than resurfacing it, because during resurfacing the plate is simply "flattened" by removing enough material to create a clean, flat surface. There are a few problems with this - one, you're losing some of your friction plate to this process. Second, any damage that was done to the plate due to heat or stress isn't fixed. Replacing the plate is better than resurfacing to give you a completely fresh start.

Application. This SPEC flywheel replacement friction plate is designed for the 6 bolt SPEC flywheels for the 96-98 and mid-01-04 Mustang GT, which are SPEC part numbers #SF64A & SF64S.

            No removable friction plate?

Did not fit my 03 GT, maybe my car didn't have the stock flywheel with removable friction plate.

I was still operating on the original face of the flywheel and when I upgraded to a TKO600 I needed to replace the plate. The installation went quick and easy with the new hardware SPEC provided. I have been driving the car for a week now and not one complaint. Clutch grabs hard and clean. The only reason it takes less than an hour to install is if you already have the flywheel out of the car.

            Fits 08 mustang gt

I have had this insert for awhile. I thought i left a comment but i guess not. This is not listed under 05-10 but it does fit my 08 mustang gt. If you're wondering if it fits it does. Use your old bolts but put lock tight on them.

            works great

I like not having to what to have flywheel resurfaced. The performance is gained from the aluminum flywheel is very noticeable.

            Must buy when replacing clutch!

It comes with everything you need minus tools. Has all new hardware and fits perfect. I was surprised and happy to see how thick it was. As per Spec torque bolts back down to 6-7ft-lbs.

Best way to get a fresh flywheel surface.

Easy install. There are no torque specs for the bolts but 20 lb-ft seems to do good. Also this will fit a spec flywheel for a 5.0 fox body.

            Great Flywheel

I had to replace my clutch in my pony and when i pulled the old clutch plate off i found out that the guy who owned my car before had installed a spec alum billet flywheel. It was much easier to just replace the old friction plate with this new one. Little bit more expensive than just putting a new cast iron one on from oriellys, but i have to say this was the right choice. The grip and performance gain is phenomenal! Thanks AM!
