Premium Quality. When you're shopping for a new flywheel, you want a flywheel that is made to the highest standards for both performance and safety. SPEC Billet Steel Flywheels are machined to a .001 tolerance (other brands are only made to .01) and designed and weighted for the perfect balance and surface to complement your new clutch.

Protects Your Investment. When replacing your clutch you have two options: resurfacing your flywheel, or getting a new flywheel. Most times, getting a new flywheel is better than resurfacing, as the flywheel will dictate how well your clutch will perform, as well as how long it will last.

Rebuildable. A cheaper flywheel won't stay that way - SPEC's steel flywheels have a replaceable steel friction plate which makes this flywheel rebuildable. And this flywheel surface is also made from a special type of steel specifically designed to help your new clutch "bed in" properly and to promote superior grip - so this might just be the last flywheel you ever have to buy.

SFI Certified. If you're using this flywheel in high performance or racing applications, SFI Certification is critical so you can run your Pony at the track or strip. And it's great for peace of mind even in a daily driver - at higher RPMs, stock cast flywheels have been known to explode.

Application. This Spec Billet Steel Flywheel fits late 2001-2004 GT and Bullitt Mustangs with a six bolt main crank. This the perfect companion to your new clutch.

Technical Note. This SPEC Billet Steel Flywheel is designed for the Mustang GT's with a six bolt main. 2001 Mustangs with production date after 06/01 have a six bolt main. Please check with your Ford dealer to determine if you have a 6 bolt or an 8 bolt main.

Please Note. Romeo built engines have 6 bolt cranks and Windsor built engines have 8 bolt cranks. If the 8th character in the VIN is an "X" its a Windsor block, if the 8th character in the VIN is a "W" it is a Romeo block. There is an exception to that rule as the 2001 Bullitt Edition Mustang feature a Romeo built engine. If unsure please check with your Ford dealer to determine if you have a 6 or an 8 bolt main.

      Flywheel Review

Excellent product. Now when i shift there is no hesitation. I can feel instant momentum. Love this product. I was actually thinking about the lightweight aluminum version but i have heard it chatters. I have no noise and maximum performance with this so im very happy.

      Excellent product

Great flywheel. Engine revs quicker and smoother. Definitely recommend if replacing your clutch (your already in there, why not replace your flywheel!?)

This flywheel is way better than any other I had ever used!!!! I love it!!!

It took me half a day but well worth the time spend. I'm in the break in point so I haven't really put it to the the test but feels really good. The other thing I like is that is reusable can't beat that.

Installed this myself with the help of some of my friends/coworkers at the shop, and everything seemed to fit and line up perfectly, but when it came down to the test drive, my poor pony, chattered right off the back, and now after 600 miles on it, my brand new Spec clutch is slipping worse than my stock 150,000 mile clutch was. Maybe it was a faulty part, or maybe I made a mistake, but nontheless, I was being helped by a few master mechanics so feel free to speculate. Not stoked that i'll have to pay for another clutch and flywheel though. Think this time I'll go through Ford Racing.

      Great Flywheel For The Money!

When looking for a flywheel - I chose this because of the quality, fit, and the fact that it has a replaceable friction plate. It is a pain to go through getting your flywheel resurfaced or dishing out a decent amount of cash on a new flywheel so having the option to just replace the friction plate is very appealing. I believe this purchase to be well worth it!

      Spec Steel Flywheel

My factory flywheel had ran its course and had to upgrade the Spec steel flywheel was a great choice both for performance and cost. Along with the Spec stage 3 clutch it works seamlessly.

      Bite hard

This was our first at-home major install. Paired this with a spec stage 1 clutch and is holding up and bites hard. We opted to get the rebuildable flywheel and tackle the job ourselves instead of paying to install clutch and only resurface flywheel, so the financial load will be less next time with just having to replace friction disc. Holds up well to a full bolt/cammed/dynoed mustang gt that sees track use and powershifted every weekend

      good price ,good product

The spec flywheel was a nice piece with a good price . helps on the 60 ft times having a heavier flywheel to get inertia to the ground.

      Incedible Customer Support

I\'ve been having some severe problems with my clutch over the past couple of months. Had a shop install a setup I bought somewhere else, and they jacked it up. So I ordered the SPEC Stage 1 Clutch Kit, and the SPEC Billet Steel Flywheel. Went to install the flywheel and the mounting bolts were misdrilled from the factory. Called American Muscle on a Saturday, absolutely no hassle about exchanging the flywheel. The new flywheel was shipped out on Monday, and it was at my door early Tuesday afternoon. Got everything installed and am very pleased with this flywheel and clutch combo. Thank you guys very much for support I have not seen in a very long time!!
