    100% New. This SR Performance 130 Amp Mustang Alternator is 100% brand new, not re-manufactured like other companies sell and is fully tested at the time of assembly. It comes complete with internal voltage regulator and 6 groove pulley. The 130 Amp alternator will increase the charging capacity at all RPM Ranges with no modifications required.

    More Power. The SR Performance Alternator produces 65 amps at idle (1750 alternator shaft RPM), and 130 amps at maximum.

        Will this amp be able to supply enough power to keep up with the Mach 1000 sound system in my 2003 gt?

        • The SR Performance Alternator will output a maximum of 130 amps, 20 amps more than the OEM Alternator's 110 amp maximum output. This will be more than enough to keep up with the Mach1000 stereo.

        do i need to replace the power wire with this since it puts out 20 more amps than the stock alternator?

        • lt is not necessary to replace the power wire when installing this alternator.

            Alternator replacement?

            The alternator has never worked with my car. Bench tested good at shop, but doesn't charge on vehicle. My 04GT came with a 2pin alternator connector for the regulator, this one has three and for some reason doesn't pick up the exciter to make it charge. Hope you have better luck than me. Because it test good on the bench you won't be able to return it. Makes a good paper weight or door stopper.

            Good choice!

            Best price considering the other options. Solved my issue with backfiring on a cold start. Since mine was 18 years old and most likely on its way out, I just went ahead and replaced it. The video was helpful, and with a few tools, had it done in no time. If you decide to attempt it yourself, check and recheck the belt and make sure it’s right.

            Seized Alternator

            This was my first order with American Muscle. I installed this and it seized after the second car start to my chagrin. It made a strange clicking noise that sounded like the bearings were bad to begin with. now i have to go through the whole return process.

            Already locked up

            Bought this alternator to try out because it was a good price, but I’d recommend you spend the extra cash and get a better brand. This alternator locked up, and they don’t have any type of warranty, so now I have to buy another. Stay away from this alternator.

            questionable reliabillity

            Performed well once it got here in one piece and the price was extremely reasonable. beginning to wonder if you get what you pay for though as it didn't last long! The first one was smashed in the box with the ear broken off and case cracked. Exchange service was excellent and a replacement came in a few days. Now less than one year later the alternator is malfunctioning. Overall view - disappointed with the failure but faith filled that A.M. will do the correct thing here and exchange it and hold the manufacturer responsible to quality. The car is a convertible so as such its a closet queen and has not gone 1,0000 miles since it was replaced! Working now to see if A.M. stands behind the product or not since its under 1,000 miles use and 10 months old. Stay tuned for an update.

            Alternator Replacement

            This is a good, economical replacement to the old worn out stock alternator that was 18 years old. Also gives you a little bit more charging capacity, especially if you are running underdrive pulleys. Looks great and fits with no problems.
