Manage More Power. The factory OEM alternator power wire was not designed to carry the larger loads that high AMP replacement alternators produce, that is why it is so important to upgrade your Mustang's power wire when you upgrade the alternator. Installing this SR Performance Premium Power Wire Upgrade Kit will allow you to safely manage the extra electrical capacity of a high AMP alternator.

Premium Wire. SR Performance manufactures their Premium Power Wire Kits from the highest quality #4 gauge wire, with increased number of strands, electrolytic copper and bundle wrapping to reduce the noise in high end sound systems. All this while still being incredibly flexible and sporting a show quality finish.

Application. This SR Performance Premium Power Wire Kit will work with your factory alternator; however, it's designed for use in 1994-2014 Mustangs with higher than stock AMP alternators, including V6, GT, Bullitt, Mach 1, Cobra and BOSS 302 models. This Power Wire Kit is not compatible with Shelby GT500 models.

Where do I hang the fuse?

It’s a great kit. The only thing is, I can't hang the fuse box anywhere. I don't want zip ties everywhere.

            Easy Build

These weren’t in stock so I used the picture and built my own. Paid less than $20 for 48 inches of 4 gauge wire, 4 ring terminals, a 250 fuse and the housing for it. Will post pictures soon!

            Quality product

This wire is a serious upgrade from the original power supply wire. It’s a way thicker gauge with a high quality insulation around it, and is plenty ling enough to run the wire the same route as the original and still have enough slack to mount the fuse box to the side somewhere.

            Nice update

After installing a new sound system on my 24 years 95 Cobra, it was time to upgrade the power wire. I also upgraded to the 200 amps altenator, which make things run smooth with the additional power . This wire is well made and install, just remove the old wire and connect it to the battery positive .

Works as advertised. Wish there was directions.

The wiring kit made my 200 AMP Alternator runs smoothly. Everything is strong and tough. There wasn't any directions, which is the only reason it's not a 5 star review. *Note* Attach the long end of the wiring kit to the alternator terminal and route the fuze box end to the Positive Battery terminal. Avoid routing to the Terminal on the Power Distribution Box like another user said. The reason is because the hex nut on it could be rusted on there and you could break the terminal on the Power Distribution Box. I did that and that terminal is needed for the car to run. It came loose while idling and killed my car. Was able to repair it with foil and solder. If you don't have a battery terminal that can fit the end of the wire, replace the terminal. Leave the old wires in as it won't hurt anything. This is the easiest way to go about it. My car is a v6 2002 Mustang, so I didn't have to do any crazy re-routing.

Great Product, but no install instructions

I installed this power wire kit when I upgraded my alternator. The item doesn't come with any installation instructions, but its pretty simple to figure out. For anyone wondering, it routes from the terminal on the alternator to the terminal at the fuse block. Since the factory wire is inside the wire loom, i used this one in addition to the factory one. Works as advertised and gives me peace of mind for the added amperage from the new alternator.

            Power wire lit

I was able to remove the original power wire on my 2005 Roush and install the new improved wire in just over 30 minutes.

            2000 Saleen

My stang runs smoothly; throttle response feels better. It accelerates through all RPMs smoothly when flooring it. Also got rid of the blinking battery light when I floor it. I installed it in parallel to the original wire as specified by American Muscle’s instructions and the manufacturer’s recommendations. I found many views on this on the forums but I decided to go with the company’s steps. I purchased a 170amp alternator as well.
