    Review & Install Video

Hey, guys. Stephanie with AmericanMuscle.com and I'm checking out this clutch pedal extension for 1994 and up manual Mustangs. This clutch pedal extension is perfect for the owners out there that are looking for some improved ergonomics but that want something a little bit higher quality than a plastic extension. Comfortable driving is essential, and I'm sure that many of us have tried to drive a manual Mustang in an uncomfortable position since we have to move the seat so far up to get a good feel for the engagement and disengagement of the clutch. This pedal extension moves the clutch pedal a whole one-and-a-half inch closer to the driver, which means a more comfortable driving position without altering the performance of your clutch, or having your knees hitting the steering wheel. Sometimes you need to move the seat so far forward to get a good feel for the clutch functionality, but it really becomes uncomfortable. Sitting so close to the dash is uncomfortable. You're oftentimes hitting your knees and it makes it more difficult to get in and out of the car. But even if you aren't vertically challenged, this extension is a little item that can make a big difference in a daily driver, too. It allows for a better seat position for a more comfortable drive. If you're on the taller side, this can help you out, too. So you can get far enough away from the dash and steering wheel. You can see right away that the pedal extension is low key and hardly detectable. It's a CNC machined billet aluminum construction, so it's going to be durable and have a long life, too. You don't have to worry about it failing or breaking on you during hard driving either. It also has a black anodized finish, which helps it to stay camouflaged on the pedal, so it's not going to be very noticeable in the car. It works with both the stock and aftermarket pedal pads. When it comes to price, this aluminum option from SR Performance isn't that much more expensive than the ABS plastic version that's also available as an alternative. This extension costs right about $60, which is only $10 more. $60 for an item that will have a large impact on a daily driver, I'd say that isn't bad at all. Another plus here is the very simple install of the pedal extension. The pedal extension comes complete with the two stainless steel screws that you'll need, and getting this installed should take you about 15 minutes total. The most difficult part of the install will be getting the extension to fit perfectly over the cover. It is a tight fit, but that's actually a good thing. You want it to be a tight fit so that it doesn't change pedal feel, and it allows the clutch to function properly. You can always use hot soapy water to help it get in the pedal or use the heat of the sun to keep the parts malleable. Overall, this clutch pedal extension is a very easy way to improve driving comfort for anyone without any permanent modifications. Very easy to install and it's inexpensive as well, even though it's made from a high quality billet aluminum that's anodized. If you've got a manual transmission Mustang, you can check this out more online for yourself right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Improves Driver Ergonomics. Improve the driving ergonomics of your manual equipped Ford Mustang with a SR Performance Clutch Pedal Extension for a much more comfortable seating position. This SR Performance Pedal Extension moves the clutch pedal 1.5" (40mm) closer to the driver so that you don't have to sit so far forward to fully engage/disengage your Mustangs clutch. This pedal extension will not affect your clutch's performance; it is only designed to improve driver comfort.

Superior Quality. CNC machined from aircraft quality 6061 billet aluminum for superior durability, this SR Performance Clutch Pedal Extension features a black anodized finish for long lasting corrosion resistance.

Application. This SR Performance Clutch Pedal Extension is designed to fit all 1994 to 2019 Mustangs equipped with a manual transmission, including the V6, EcoBoost, GT, Bullitt, Mach 1, SVT Cobra, BOSS, Shelby GT500 and Shelby GT350 models.

Please Note. A clutch pedal pad is not included with the Clutch Pedal Extension. You will use your stock or an aftermarket clutch pedal pad.

So, i received the sr performance billet, are you suppose to put this over your pedal or take the peddle off and then attached the billet clutch extension and then place your pedal on top? im a little confused as the customer photos seem to have the pedal on top of the extension.

        • With this Clutch Pedal Extension you will want to remove your clutch pedal, then install the extension, and lastly install your pedal cover over the extension.

Having some trouble installing this on my 2004 gt. The 2 halves seem like they wont make it over the curve. I have read that using a C-Clamp is working for some. Do you guys recommened i do that?

        • Thank you for your question about the SR Performance Billet Aluminum Clutch Pedal Extension (94-17 Manual). I would not recommend using a C-clamp initially to remedy your installation issue. I would suggest sending photos in to support@americanmuscle.com. From there we should be able to determine if you may have a defective pedal extension and can replace it with another if necessary.

Have you tested Roush 4-Piece Performance Pedal Kit (15-19 w/ Manual Transmission) with this extension? will they fit well together?

        • We have not yet test fit this combination and would be unable to verify.

Having some difficulties re-installing the clutch pedal cover onto the extender. Any advice?

        • You can soak the pedal cover in some hot water for a few minutes to help expand the rubber to make it easier to install. Just make sure the cover is dry before driving.

I'm having difficulty removing the clutch pedal cover, any tips? I was not given instructions with the part

        • The factory clutch pedal cover is installed on the clutch assembly with adhesive so it can be a bit tricky to get get off. We recommend using a heat gun to heat the cover up slightly which will break down some of the adhesive materiel underneath. Once warm to the touch, pry upwards on the pedal cover (Patience is needed) and should slowly lift away from the assembly.

            Billet Clutch Pedal Extension

Perfect fit and allowed my wife and daughter to operate the clutch pedal much easier. I also don't mind the shorter reach to the floor with the extension mounted up.

            Well made.

I was pleased with the quality of material these were made of. They gave me the added distance I need to adjust my seat back and still be able to completely depress the clutch.

            FINE QUALITY EXTENSION

I went with the aluminum extension instead of the plastic and glad I did. Perfect fit. I installed the rubber pad on first on the workbench then spilt the back halves open to get it on the metal pedal. Blue locktite on the bolts just to be sure they never back off and it draws up tight. I'm 5' 7'' . The difference in height from the brake pedal is not a problem … feels natural.

            SR Billet pedal extension

Very nice product, fit perfectly. even though it is just a inch and half difference it gives that perfect feel, no more stretching to push the clutch to the floor. I am 6' tall and felt like the seat needed to be closer than I like before adding the extension.

            Fits both

Raise both pedals clutch and brake, fits both. Raise your brake as well. Unless your built really strange this will feel really natural and put you farther away from your air bag.

            Great for airbag safety!

My 5’1” daughter loves the clutch pedal extension. She no longer feels like she’s hugging the steering wheel. Also, a safe initial distance from the airbag is most important! Worth the money!

Great part, a little awkward at first

First, this part feels very well made and fits perfectly. You must remove the clutch pedal cover first, bolt this directly to the pedal and then you can place the cover back on the extension. Getting the cover off and the extension on was the easy part. Getting the cover back on the extension.... That was a bit of a pain. I got it using a little bit of elbow grease and a small tool. The extension itself feels like it puts my foot in a really weird place, but I'm getting more and more used to it. I would recommend to get this part sooner rather than later so you can adjust your clutch habits earlier if need be.

            Worth it

So I drive my 2014 Mustang V6 as a daily driver and I’m 5’10” and I always sat at a distance from the steering wheel but now with this I can go further back and be extremely relaxed through traffic. My girlfriend which is 5’1” is gonna start driving the car to work and school and test drove it with this new upgrade and she loves it so much more. Used to sit all the way up by the steering wheel and would sometimes stall but now it’s perfect. Worth the purchase. Will admit putting the pedal cover on is gonna be a hassle so I just left it be. Also the black looks cool.
