Popular Tire Setups for this Wheel
Hey everyone I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com and I’m taking a look at our 2003 Cobra style wheels for all 94-04 Mustangs in your choice of either black or chrome. These wheels pay tribute to the terminator Cobras that originated in 2003 and are hands down my favorite modern Mustang. With that signature supercharger whine, that aggressive front end, and these 5 spoke wheels, there wasn’t much not to like. These lightweight aluminum wheels are offered in 17” diameter only, and your choice of either triple dipped chrome, gloss black finish, and for the black deep dish option, black with a polished lip. Now we have the latter installed on our 2000 GT behind me, and on our 98 GT on our Dynojet, sporting the very stealthy gloss black look. Now it’s easy to see these wheels look great on both the SN95 and the New Edge platform. But without a doubt our most popular choice is shown right behind me on our V6, with the chrome deep dish 17x9’s up front, and the 17x10.5’s in the rear, giving us that staggered look that instantly transforms our ride into full on muscle car status. Not only that, you get to run a massive 315 size tire out back, giving you all the traction you can handle. Part of the reason you’re able to run such a massive tire in the rear is due to the fact that these wheels are offered in the very cool deep dish option. Now this simply means that the face of the wheel is set further back into the rim, resulting in that nice wide lip which looks awesome. Now with some of our other AmericanMuscle wheels you do have the option of mixing a standard fitment wheel up front with a deep dish wheel out back, however due to the design of these Cobra style wheels, you either have to go deep dish on all four corners, or standard fitment all around, it’s up to you. If you’ve never installed a new set of wheels and tires on your car, don’t worry, it couldn’t be easier. All you need is a few hand tools and a floor jack. First step is you want to make sure your car is on level ground, once you do that crack the lugs loose first, jack your car into the air and swap the wheels. That’s it, you’re done, it shouldn’t take you any more than an hour. Now obviously you can’t install these wheels without tires so you’ll definitely need to take care of that. You can always do that on your own or let us do all the work for you with one of our pre built tire and wheel combinations, here we give you a couple of different tire options which are guaranteed to fit your ride without rubbing even if you’re lowered a little bit. You’ll even save yourself a little money in the process thanks to our free mounting and balancing and as always free shipping and handling. And with all AmericanMuscle wheels you have peace of mind knowing that your wheels are backed by a 1 year warranty on finish, and a lifetime structural warranty as well. It’s easy to say that sometimes less is more, that’s exactly the case with these wheels, the aggressive 5 spoke design of these 2003 Cobra style wheels is sure to turn any Mustang from average to terminator in no time and they can be found right here at AmericanMuscle.com

Technical Note. Due to the limited space in the rear wheel wells of the 1994-2004 Mustangs, we highly recommend you flip or completely remove the rear quad shock for proper fitment. Slight rubbing may occur on the inside of the wheel and tire without this modification.
Fitment: 1994 1995 1996 1997 1998
Mounting & Balancing: AmericanMuscle offers professional mounting and balancing on all wheels and tires when purchased together on the same order. This will allow you to swap out your old wheels for your new set when they arrive.
What is TPMS? The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS for short) is a factory installed safety feature on all 2007 and newer Ford Mustangs that alerts you when your tire pressure drops to an unsafe limit.
How do I keep my TPMS feature? Aftermarket wheels do not come with TPMS sensors. However, if you select 'Add TPMS Sensor Kit' and your specific year range from the options listed above, we'll install the TPMS Sensors in your new wheels!

They are wonderful but...
The wheels look amazing, i’ve even gotten compliments on them, but when they arrived there was a 1/8 inch scrape on one of my rear wheels (barely noticeable once they were on the car). If there wasn’t a small scrape on the rim, I would give them 5 stars.Helpful (2)

Beautiful Wheels and Tires
When you pull these out of the box, they are impressive. The Mickey Thompson tires are really nice and look aggressive. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is due to the shipping (the boxes these came in were flimsy and looked as if they had been to war) A center cap was missing which AM shipped (expedited) to me no questions asked. There was a scuff on one of the wheels which I was able to buff out (white paint transfer of some sort) Better shipping container = 5 star review.Helpful (1)

Look amazing had it to me before the first race of season, but found a website selling them for 80 a wheel but it was taking like 4 months for them to come in. If I could of waited I would have bought the others, but American muscle got them to me fast and it was worth it.Helpful (0)

Will these wheels eliminate the wheel tuck in the rear, or does that require spacers?
The 17x10.5" 2003 Cobra Style Black Wheel is designed to sit flush with the rear quarter panel. We do not recommend using spacers with these wheels as this can create clearance issues.
will i need the low profile irs bolts to clear these on my 01 cobra?
Would 275/40/17 tires be fine for these wheels?
That size would fit on these wheels.
What is the off-set on these wheels?
The offset is +27mm (+1.10").
What size tire would you recommend to run on my 01’ GT?
We recommend 315/35R17's with these wheels.
The 17x10.5" 2003 Cobra Style Wheel will not fit the 15'-18' Mustangs. This wheel is only intended for installation on the 94'-04' Mustangs.
The 2003 Cobra Style Black Wheel will not fit on the 2005-2009 Mustangs.
We do offer the 03 Cobra style wheels in a deep dish. In this case it will come with a polished lip. I will post the options below: https://www.americanmuscle.com/blk-dd-cobra-17x105.html https://www.americanmuscle.com/blk-dd-cobra-17x9.html
With our free mounting and balancing you have the choice to fill your tires with air, or nitrogen give us a call to discuss the benefits of both. The OEM center caps will not fit these wheels without some modifications. https://www.americanmuscle.com/contact.html
The Mickey Thompson Street Comp Tires have a tread life rating of 300 AA A. This will allow for tread life between 15,000 miles and 30,000 miles, depending on how the vehicle is driven, and conditions, such as type of pavement, etc.
This wheel and tire package will not cause rubbing on your vehicle if it is at stock ride height or as far as a 2" drop with a lowered suspension.
If your 91 Notchback has a 5-lug conversion from our site or from a donor SN95, these will be able to work on your vehicle.
There are several options that you can take with these size wheels. For the 9's I would recommend a 255, and then for the 10.5's most people choose somewhere between a 285 and a 305.
This wheel and tire kit would not fit on a 1994 Cobra. The 17x10.5 included in the kit does not have sufficient clearance in the wheel well and will cause interference.
The Staggered 2003 Cobra Style Black Wheel & Mickey Thompson Tire Kit would be set as a single kit which includes 4 wheels and 4 tires mounted and balanced. Only a quantity of 1 is required.
Simple installation for anyone.
