Simple installation for anyone.
Justin from AmericanMuscle.com, we're here with Chris Thompson from Airaid. He stopped by the shop to tell us a little more about these great Airaid products. We're very familiar with Airaid; we use them on our project cars with great success. Chris, what can you tell us about Airaid that makes it so unique? "Everything we do is digitally designed. It's engineered to fit, it's engineered to work, it's engineered to work without any special tuning. Now, tuning is much, much better. You guys offer a lot of great choices in aftermarket tuning. It'll only enhance the performance of the Mustang. We design our intakes so there's no special gluing required, there's no cutting or hacking of the engine required. If somebody decided to put a stock intake back on, they don't have to go back to Ford to buy another part to put the piece back on. Every intake we do is digitally designed. It's all about the design of the airflow and the linear charge to the throttle body. We use the rotational molding not so much for the heat soaking, but for the shape of the tube we can come up with. By using the rotational molding, it allows us to really give the right shape and form to make sure the product works well." We're very excited—we've got our 2013 Mustang here, probably not even 10 miles on this thing yet, and we already have an Airaid intake on it. Tell us a little more about that. "This is awesome. We're really excited to be here today. This is the first Airaid intake on a 2013 Mustang. We're really excited to be here with you guys. As you can see it fits. We know for sure it fits. We believe we have a hit. We'll do a little bit more testing on it before we release it to the public, but that should happen anytime now." Now, you were telling me earlier, you're working with some legends in the Mustang world. "Well, we're excited about working with Parnelli Jones and his son PJ. Parnelli's been instrumental in helping us come along with the Boss 302 intakes we're trying to develop. Nobody knows the heritage of the Boss 302 better than Parnelli Jones. We worked with PJ on the side by side utility vehicles (Razors, Rhinos, and TRX's). We also sponsored him in the past on his endeavors in the American Le Mans Series, which he ran last year." Chris, thank you so much for educating us on your great Airaid products. And as always, you can find those great Airaid products right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

airaid intake for 2010 V6
Intake was easy to install. Took about an hour because Im not much of a mechanic and I meticulously followed step by step instructions! It wasn't really very hard at all! Haven't noticed a huge difference in HP or gas milage yet but it really looks good under the hood! I like the washable reusable filter also. Overall very pleasedHelpful (5)

Noticable performance gains
Remember to read the instructions in order while putting this together, Do NOT USE THE FACTORY MAF SCREWS, you will mess up the threading.Helpful (5)

Cold Air Intake
The Airaid MXP Series Cold Air Intake is a great aftermarket addition to my 2010 4L V6 Mustang Convertible. The fuel economy has significantly increased with the installation of this kit! Slight bump in HP too! Very pleased with the product quality and appearance. Thank you American Muscle!! JimHelpful (7)

Very happy with the results
Easy install, perfect first mod for a beginner like myself, took about 40 minutes. Don't expect a big change in sound but I did immediately notice the car just drove better, the ride was more smooth and I saw a somewhat subtle but noticeable gain in horsepower, more than I had originally thought. Would definitely recommend this, especially as a first mod.Helpful (8)

I bought this in hopes of adding a little more power and more air to take in for more accumulation of hp, i have never done this before or worked on a car and i did it in two hours tops, i didn't have the proper tools and lighting but still managed, turned out great. Not as loud as i wanted to sound but it added some good low tone and power! If a girl can do it, so can you!Helpful (12)

Really easy hook up took 20 minutes to remove old intake and add this one. You can hear the engine breath as soon as I crank the car on. Adds great horse power I can feel the differenceHelpful (10)

Great buy for price
Perfect fit. Very easy to install and makes car sound so much better. Makes it sound deeper and a little louder also. When you are driving you will be able to hear a faint whistle noise from the filter sucking in a lot more air. I did combine this with a Bama tune and didn't really notice that much of a difference power wise. Still very happy with this purchase and would recommend to anyone to start of modding their mustang.Helpful (10)
As the tuner is optional, would I be able to buy it at a later time after I have installed the intake?
The Airaid MXP intake does not require a tune so you can definitely add one at a later time.
This has a no tune required. Would you still be able to write a tune for this and get more HP increase?
The Airaid MXP Series Cold Air Intake does not require a tune in order to operate with your Mustang. However, pairing this air intake with a tune will absolutely help create additional horse power .
Will this fit with a BBK 70mm throttle body? I'm planning on buying a high quality CAI, but it needs to fit the BBK throttle body. If this does fit does it also require an additional part or will the kit come with it?
The Airaid Cold Air Intake will fit with the BBK throttle body. Depending on the size throttle body, you may need to stretch the coupler from the intake to the throttle body, or a new coupler would need to be acquired.
