Simple installation for anyone.
Justin from AmericanMuscle.com, we're here with Chris Thompson from Airaid. He stopped by the shop to tell us a little more about these great Airaid products. We're very familiar with Airaid; we use them on our project cars with great success. Chris, what can you tell us about Airaid that makes it so unique? "Everything we do is digitally designed. It's engineered to fit, it's engineered to work, it's engineered to work without any special tuning. Now, tuning is much, much better. You guys offer a lot of great choices in aftermarket tuning. It'll only enhance the performance of the Mustang. We design our intakes so there's no special gluing required, there's no cutting or hacking of the engine required. If somebody decided to put a stock intake back on, they don't have to go back to Ford to buy another part to put the piece back on. Every intake we do is digitally designed. It's all about the design of the airflow and the linear charge to the throttle body. We use the rotational molding not so much for the heat soaking, but for the shape of the tube we can come up with. By using the rotational molding, it allows us to really give the right shape and form to make sure the product works well." We're very excited—we've got our 2013 Mustang here, probably not even 10 miles on this thing yet, and we already have an Airaid intake on it. Tell us a little more about that. "This is awesome. We're really excited to be here today. This is the first Airaid intake on a 2013 Mustang. We're really excited to be here with you guys. As you can see it fits. We know for sure it fits. We believe we have a hit. We'll do a little bit more testing on it before we release it to the public, but that should happen anytime now." Now, you were telling me earlier, you're working with some legends in the Mustang world. "Well, we're excited about working with Parnelli Jones and his son PJ. Parnelli's been instrumental in helping us come along with the Boss 302 intakes we're trying to develop. Nobody knows the heritage of the Boss 302 better than Parnelli Jones. We worked with PJ on the side by side utility vehicles (Razors, Rhinos, and TRX's). We also sponsored him in the past on his endeavors in the American Le Mans Series, which he ran last year." Chris, thank you so much for educating us on your great Airaid products. And as always, you can find those great Airaid products right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Airaid intake tube
I also bought the airaid drop in dry filter. The engine sounds different better response. I also got rid of the stupid sound tube, don’t need it when you have a 5.0 with Fowmaster Outlaws..Helpful (0)

Added this air tube along with the Ford Performance Power Pack. Did not notice any significant changes to sound after install (this went on first with all the stock stuff still) but only did a short run test in the shop. I did not re-install the lovely sound pipe either. It took about 30 min to install and the instructions were straight forward. Greatly improved the under hood looks.Helpful (0)

Easy improvement for your Mustang
I want to improve the performance of my 2013 Mustang GT but wish to keep it looking as close to stock looks as I can. I've always like having a sleeper car. The Airaid Modular tube will keep a very close to stock look yet will smooth out the air flow into the intake and help overall performance. This will also work if I install a Roush Cold air intake later if I so chose. I don't expect major gains with this plus a the KandN filter in the stock box but even an extra 8 to 10 HP will help some.Helpful (7)

Great product to avoid tuning your car
Wanted an intake that would not require me to have the car tuned, still have warrantee on car so that was not an option. This combined with the roush cold box work great. All benefits of a cold air intake but no tune required. If your looking to go the same route this is a best way to do it.Helpful (6)

Easy to install and cleans up the look over the factory intake. Also gives the ability to delete sound tube. Good option to be able to maintain factory air box to keep IAT down.Helpful (9)

How much horsepower will be gained without a tune?
I've read that this has baffles inside, does it or not? Thank you.
This intake tube will not have sound-canceling baffles.
Will this work with the Boss 302 intake manifold?
This will work with the Boss 302 Intake Manifold.
Will this fit the bbk 85 mm throttle body?
Yes, this item would work with the BBK 85mm throttle body.
Will this fit with a 90mm BBK Throttle body? I’m looking to install the Boss 302 intake with a 90mm TB
A 90mm throttle body would be large for this Airaid Modular Intake Tube and it would require a coupler with different diameter ends. Additionally, it may not port match since the throttle body is so large.
In order to verify fitment of this Airaid Modular Intake Tube (11-14 GT) with your Airaid CAI that you purchased from us please give us a call at 1-888-327-2339 or chat in with our live support team! This Airaid Modular Intake Tube is 50-state smog legal under Carb EO# D-609-11.
Yes, this Airaid Modular Intake Tube would fit an automatic 2012 GT.
Disconnecting the battery is not strictly necessary, however it is a safety step to prevent damage to vehicle electronics, and will also reset adaptive parameters, allowing the car to "learn" the new part more quickly.
Hello! The Airaid Modular Intake Tube is only designed to fit the 11-14 GTs
Yes its made specifically for that application, stock air box and filter. The tuner aspect will not make a difference with the procal, I would recommend a custom tune.
The Airaid Modular Intake Tube (11-14 GT) will work just fine paired up with the Roush Cold Air Intake (10-14 GT). This Airaid intake tube will not have any reducing coupler in it. If you are referring to restrictive sleeve that mounts inside of the MAF sensor housing, than yes, if your intake is equipped with that sleeve you can certainly remove it and tune the car accordingly.
The Airaid Modular Intake Tube (11-14 GT) will work amazingly with the Roush Cold Air Intake (10-14 GT), item # 69057, (http://www.americanmuscle.com/roush-cai-2010gt.html). If you scroll down the page, you can find some Customer Submitted Photo's of the same set up.
Daniel on AM chat said I do not need a tune..
