Hey everybody. I'm Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and this is my breakdown of the Airaid Race Cold Air Intake system, equipped with a Dry Track Day filter fitting your 2015 Mustang GT. Airaid continues to be one of the leaders in aftermarket filtration for many Mustang owners, thanks to their many options and configurations that should cater just about to every owner and his or her needs. Now, this particular option from Airaid is their Track Day offering, which will differ slightly from some of the other options from Airaid available here on the site. Now right off the bat, you can see visually the biggest difference is with the air box, or lack thereof, here with the Track Day option. Now, the standard option for your Coyote powered 2015 GT does come with that fancy plastic air box with the plexiglass window, stainless steel trimmed; very, very appealing. Now, the track option here, is pretty much all business as you can see, yet still very attractive with the stamped, stainless steel heat shield in place of that ABS plastic air box. But what really makes this a race-oriented intake is that Dry Track Day filter that is included here with this kit. Now, Airaid says you can oil the filter if you want, but again, it does ship dry to you. And what really is going to separate this is the construction. Now, it starts off life as your typical filter. You've got the polyurethane casing matched with that wire mesh skeleton, but the inside or guts of this filter is what really provides that maximum flow. They use a high flow cotton gauze that really will still catch those larger particles, but it's not going to offer the same benefits or filtration as their SynthaMax or SynthaFlow, filters for instance. So that is why Airaid strongly recommends using this filter for track day purposes only. So that pretty much covers the intake filter itself, and the heat shield. Now, as for the plastic intake tube itself, the standard offering here that you will find with other options from Airaid for your 2015 GT, same roto-molded plastic construction, same diameter, which means you can run this intake either with or without a custom tune, if you choose to. Now of course, here at AmericanMuscle.com, we always recommend upgrading to a custom tune just to really maximize the performance gains possible here with this Airaid. Obviously, more horsepower and torque are to be expected, but also increased driveability, throttle response, things like that, and increased shift firmness and shift points here with the automatic cars. Now, of course, guys, we have to get this thing installed first. So, to do so, you're going to need some few basic hand tools and about an hour's worth of your time, but if you do get a little jammed up, reach out to a Mustang expert any time. We already have our baseline numbers from today, using our six-speed 2015 GT behind me. So with the intake installed, let's make another hit here on the Dynojet and see what kind of gains we're looking at. Our baseline run using our six speed 2015 GT gave us 387 horsepower and 365 pound feet of torque at the rear wheels. With the Race Cold Air Intake System in place from Airaid, the car is now making 413 horsepower and 384 pound feet of torque, giving us a peak gain of 26 horsepower over those baseline numbers, and gains of as much as 34 horsepower and 30 pound feet of torque under the curve. So if you guys are serious about tracking your Mustang and are looking for maximum performance without compromising the safety of your motor, well then you have to take a closer look at the Race Cold Air Intake option from Airaid with the Track Day filter, available right here at AmericanMuscle.com.
