        5 2012 V6 - Sloot Installation Time: Afternoon

        Really Good!

I just finished installing and on the ride home I was shocked at how well it sounded and hopefully going to see performance in the future out of it (I haven't tuned it but maybe in the future after an exhaust system upgrade). I am very new to the car community and this was my first time ever working on a car. So if you think you may not be able to do it, I promise you patience and some hand tools and you'll have yourself a very good upgrade. -The only con I have so far is that the fitment of the screw for the CAB wouldn't go completely flush with the fitment but it still tightened down.

        5 2012 V6 - TK Installation Time: Afternoon

Looks Great, Runs Great, Funky Install

Installed my CAI today and it came out really well. I do have a few observations for the folks who make and sell this. First, the instructions are really helpful, I recommend that before you install read them a few times. The kit was complete, but the parts are slightly problematic. The smaller hose clamp used to attach to the silicon hump hose to the Throttle Body is just too small. I had to take it apart and wrap it by hand to get it to fit. The Torx driver works on the OEM bolts to remove them but is the wrong size to install new bolts. Thus you need to have your own drivers. I also found the other reviewers who recommended attaching the intake to the Throtle first worked better. All in all very satisfied. Rule of Thumb, be prepared to improvise the process to install a great product. Took 90 minutes to prep, install and clean up.

        Best CAI for 3.7l V6!

Upgraded over the KandN CAI I got for a gift, with a mild tune on both of them, the initial throttle response with this one is much improved! Easy to install, looks nice (I have the black filter), and delivers like it claims!

        5 2014 V6 - JasonB Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

Made my biceps grow 3 inches!!!!

Actually was one of the best mods on my car...I have the SCT tuner so it went from bland on 87 octane to 93 octane, SCT tuned, Air Raid filtered beast. Breaks the back end loose now unintentionally with the traction control on. Massive gainz! No, my Biceps didn't grow, but it felt like it. One note, the fit from intake manifold to air box is a bit tight and tricky, but works out fine. 1 hr install for a first timer.

        4 2014 V6 - Chloe Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        Airaid MXP Series CAI

Good intake. I installed the 73mm throttle body at the same time and it definitely improved the throttle response. Also gives my exhaust a deeper sound. I had a lot of trouble putting the boot over the throttle body.

Any opinions on the Dry vs Oiled Airaids? It says it can be washed, but I don't know how I feel about that. I honestly don't mind cleaning an oiled one, and have read that they are better, since they trap more junk. Only difference is, this one comes with the black filter!!!

      • I have dry one for already one year and i don't have any problems.

Hi there, just want to find out i want to purchase the AIRAID COLD AIR INTAKE - SYNTHAMAX DRY FILTER (11-14 V6) it mentions that i will get a increase of 20HP an 28 Tq is this by just installing the cold air intake ? or have i got to purchase the tuner in order to get those gains ?

      • Hello! The Airaid Cold Air Intake - SynthaMax Dry Filter is reporting the power increase of 20HP and 28TQ with an optional tune. Without the tune, you will receive less of a benefit.

Does anyone have this on a convertible? Is the sound to annoying with your top down. I have a 14, V6, automatic.

      • This Airaid Cold Air Intake is louder than the traditional enclosed box filter, and it is able to be heard with the windows down. If this was a concern with the top down, I would highly recommend an aftermarket enclosed cold air intake system.

Once the CAI is successfully installed, how do you go about correctly tuning it? If I purchase the bama tuner AM is recommending in the checkout how do I get that tuner to correctly sync with this CAI?

      • The Airaid MXP Series Cold Air Intake w/ SynthaMax Dry Filter does not require a tune. If you'd like a custom tune for the intake to get more HP you will need either have the car custom dyno'd by a local shop and have them set you up with a custom tune and tuner set up or you can get a tuner that comes with custom tunes from our site, like our Bama tuner option. If you go the Bama route, after you place the order you will need to submit the custom tune sheet with the modifications done to the car and they will get you set up with a custom tune!

Will this fit with 73mm throttle body?

      • This Airaid Cold Air Intake will fit over 73mm throttle bodies, such as the BBK 73mm Throttle body, item 56146. Since the throttle body is larger, you may need to wiggle on the coupler of the intake or possibly warm it up to expand the coupler.
