Improves Horsepower. A BBK Cold Air Intake improves the airflow path into your Mustang's engine for more power and better acceleration all while filtering out harmful power robbing dust particles. This BBK CAI kit completely replaces your 2011-2014 V6 Mustangs restrictive factory air box and paper filter element with a high flow BBK filter assembly for an increase of 8 to 10 rear wheel horsepower.

No Tune Required. Unlike other Cold Air Intakes on the market for the 2011-2014 V6 Mustangs the BBK CAI does not require a computer re-tune. The engineers at BBK really did their homework to improve your Pony's power using the factory tune.

Reusable Filter. BBK designed their high flow cotton air filter to be reusable. So no there is no need to go out and buy a new filter every few thousand miles. Just clean the filter, re-oil it, save money, and go!

Chrome Finish. This BBK CAI not only improves your Pony's horsepower and acceleration, but it also improves your Mustangs under hood appearance with a striking chrome finish. You'll be sure to win all the car shows with this jewel under the hood.

Easy Installation. BBK Cold Air Intake kits are designed to install with just basic hand tools. No extra modifications or special tools are required for an easy 1 hour installation.

Application. This BBK Cold Air Intake System is specifically designed to fit the 2011-2014 3.7L V6 Mustangs and does not require re-tuning the vehicles computer for operation.

I have never purchased a reusable air filter. How do you clean it and what type of oil is used for re-oiling? where do I find this oil and does the kit come with any oil? I can do most re-mods, but I just never tried this one. Thanks for your help and advise. Wayne47

    Wayne47

    • Step 1: Liberally spray Filter Cleaner onto both sides of filter and allow to soak for 10 minutes to loosen the dirt. Do not allow cleaner to dry on air filter. Step 2: Rinse your filter Step 3: Dry your filter Step 4: apply oil You can find nice little kits for cleaning your air filter at most auto-parts stores, or you can even contact BBK directly!

Air Intake through front grill? Whats up everyone! Quick question; The heat shield that comes with the BBK CAI doesn't seem to hook up with the factory air inlet from the grill so I was wondering will that rob me of any HP or should I replace the shield or make my own?

    HareB89

    • All the factory stuff is removed - it's actually pretty easy. The hardest part was removing the part that connects to the front of the car. The instructions say pull gently upwards - they don't tell you that you have to push a couple of tabs first. If a part does not remove easily, there is probably a tab that needs to be pushed. I was picky about removing all my original equipment because in a few year, I have to put it all back when I have to get mine smogged. And no, you won't lose any HP and the CAI will really improve throttle response and I think it sound great.

    Twan

    • sure, actully the cold air intake may gain up to 8-10 HP. If you add tune to it, you will get over 26 HP. the tuner by it self gains 16 HP. if you go to tuners> bama SCT tune v6> you will know more when you see the video. :) hope that helped you

      Great item

30 mins to install is about right. 20 of which were spent on getting the stock air intake out without breaking it :) I'd recommend it for everyone.

      Does look good.

This was a pretty easy install. It took me more than an hour(I'm old) but a lot less than an afternoon. Performance? I don't know. I hadn't really put the hammer down before doing it....still haven't. But it does look good.....a lot better than what came with the car. The fit is pretty tight....The directions are good, but ya' need to do a little "re-adjusting" when getting close to finishing up.

      All Satisfaction

I have to say, I am very happy with what my new BBK cold air intake has done to my 2011 mustang. It has gotten alot better gas milage, and has added an extra kick to my car. It had someone thinkin I was in a V8. They were shocked when I told em it was a V6 with a BBK cold air intake. I am looking to buy more items from this company, because I know for a fact they wont let my hopes down.

      small problems but awesome product!

first off i love this cai, it fits my v6 kona blue perfectly and matches my chrome strut tower brace and chrome dress up kit too. the good- cai looks good and makes a really nice whistle when you first punch the gas plus i could actually feel a good torque gain after the instal and i didnt even have a tune or need one. the bad- my first problem was while i was taking out the stock airbox there was a little breather airway that was a pain in the a** for me to take out (it took me about an hour to just take that piece out without breaking it) then there was a factory defect on the cai where the top left hole for the screw on the mass air flow sensor wasnt drilled right and ended up with me popping out that stupid top right rivet... it still works fine without the rivet and no top left screw but im going to have to take it to a shop so they can re-drill it and put a new rivet back in. other than that, i would honestly recommend this product to anyone over all the other brands because of style and performance. P.S. the reason there are 2 breather tubes is because on an automatic mustang there are two breathers. on a manual there is just one, so if you have a manual go to auto zone and pick up a small plastic cap to place around that tube since it wont be used. my picture is the kona blue one that is all chromed out =]

      GREAT MOD FOR BEGINNERS

I purchased this CAI after shopping around and comparing brands and I must say that I am very impressed. Installation was a breeze 35 mins and it was in and running great. Only thing i can say is that it is a very exact fit so when installing make sure you double check everything before tightening it all down also when reinstalling the mass air flow sensor be very careful with how tight you make the screws to tight and you WILL pop a rivet... However the car runs great no issues and an overall great product and the difference in how it drives and sounds is awesome. Quit comparing and just buy it!!!

      Pretty good

I was conserned it wouldnt give me the oomf i was looking for, but it did, and throttle response is crazy now, there is no longer a thing called launch control haha, by the way, it should only take you around 30 minutes to install but me and my friend were goofing around and it was super cold and we could barely feel our hands, do it somewhere warm and toasty

      BBK

I put this on with the BBK throttle body and it has made my car feel completely different. The throttle response is much better and it looks better than most of the other cold air intakes. Also it only took me about 40 minutes to get the throttle body and air intake off and the new ones put on. I highly recommend this product.

      bbk

Overall it sounds and looks great, would have given 5 stars across the board. Reason being, I had to basically force the mass air flow sensor into place and eventually use the screws to pull it all the way down tight, did not think it would fit at first but took the risk and it worked, and the other reason is that the intake has two places for breather hoses and my car only uses one, and it dose not come with any kind of plug, can buy a cheap set of caps from local auto store for a couple bucks, but bbk could easily throw one in the box, and perhaps even color matching

      BBK CAI and ITSX tuner

Simple installation of the BBK intake, took about 45 minutes while bs'ing with my buddies. Nice addition with nice power gains. Added the ITSX wireless tuner and the car has really come alive. Sounds great also, the combination of parts has added a deeper growl to the stock exhaust.

      Worth it

You'll make back the cost on gas alone, it sounds cool, and gives a slight low-end boost. Not to bad to install, just gotta make sure everything fits together.
