Increases Overall Performance. Add even more horsepower and torque to the rear wheels of your 3.7L V6 Pony by eliminating those power robbing catalytic converters with a BBK Off-road shorty X-Pipe. A BBK X-Pipe will greatly improve your pony's exhaust flow to increase overall performance. This BBK x-pipe is specifically designed to be used with BBK's 1642 Series full length headers.

Race Car Growl. This free flowing BBK x-pipe for the 2011-2014 V6 Mustang's not only increases power, but it also adds a crisp raspy, race car growl to the sound of your exhaust with its modern "X" crossover pipe design.

Durable BBK Construction. BBK's X-Pipes use a free-flowing 2-3/4" diameter CNC mandrel bent aluminized tubing and a merged X crossover to improve flow. It also features OEM style hangers that attach in the stock locations for a perfect fit.

Application. This BBK Shorty Off-road X-Pipe is specifically designed to fit the 2011-2014 and newer 3.7L V6 Mustangs with BBK Long-Tube Headers installed. Intended for off-road use, does not include catalytic converters.

Note. Stock 2011 V6 Mustangs come stock with a Mid Pipe that resembles both the H-Pipe and X-Pipe designs. This hybrid Mid Pipe was created by Ford to help add additional power and sound to the V6 straight out of the factory. This aftermarket X-Pipe will further help you reach maximum air-flow equaling additional power.

Technical Note: This BBK product is intended for off road use, and is not legal for use in emission restrictive states.

  • No.This x pipe does not include the cats. However, you can get the catted version that cost more but ,they are smaller than stock cats on you vehicle which will increase the exhaust flow.

I'm trying to decide between these and the catted x-pipe, but I don't really know the difference between the two other than the fact that this does not include the cats, is that the only difference?

BoldizsarS

  • The difference between the BBK Off-Road X-Pipe and BBK Catted X-Pipe will be exactly that, the exclusion of cats on the off road mid pipe.

If I install the long tube header and the bbk x pipe, do I have to change the exhaust or will it fit on a stock exhaust?

KaaL

  • Installing this x pipe with the BBK long tube header would indeed connect up to an otherwise stock exhaust.

Does this have to be installed with the BBK long tube headers to work? I can't just apply it onto my stock headers?

Ananichapa

  • The BBK Off-Road X-Pipe (11-14 V6 w/ Long Tube Headers) is specifically designed to work with long tube header if you want to keep your stock headers and have a BBK x-pipe you can use the item #56233 which I have provided a link for below. http://www.americanmuscle.com/bbk-offroad-xpipe-1113v6.html

Will this x-pipe work for my 2016 v6 mustang along with Long Tube Headers?

Beyond

  • Unfortunately this will not, the 2015 and up Mustangs will have a completely different exhaust setup. The only part that will be compatible is the long tube headers by themselves.

I know this will fit with bbs long tube headers perfect however after the x how is the fitment on pipes, are 2014 mustang v6 2.5 i thought they were 2.25

Johnny

  • The over the axle pipes that are after the X pipe are going to be 2.25". This X pipe is 2.5" but will step down to 2.25" to pair up to the factory pipes.

Great product when it came to fitment. And about loudness ... hahaha I got this combined with bbk LT headers, Magnaflow street comp quad tips axle-back, BBK 73mm TB and Steeda CAI. These are the mods that should have an impact on the car's sound. The video in the link will say it all. And about performance, you will feel it when you hit the pedal hard due to no restriction but again I had a lot of mods done at once so the feel might differ but it will be there for sure! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3zaxFe0NnY

This is a great product and simple to install, if you don't include the time and effort to install the BBK Long Tube Headers. I did both in one day on ramps with no help to near the very end when my wife guided the headers onto the engine. The exhaust note is great at idle and WOT is something you have to hear to believe. Sound is not quite as pleasing between 2K and 4K. The car has gone from a pleasant daily driver to an absolute beast. Even guys running GTs on the street are caught by surprise.

    Offroad x pipe very nice

A friend and I installed this off road x pipe and the BBK ceramic headers and now my pony sounds like a racecar. I went with the offroad pipe mainly because of the price difference, and for the max horsepower gains. Like it says in the description, it gives your stang a mean racecar growl. The install of the headers and the x pipe took about 8 hours, but most of the time was spent removing the factory manifolds and connecting the headers to the engine. After that was done, the x pipe was installed in less than half an hour. The only complaint I have is that without the cats your exhaust will stink a lot more. Other than that, its a really good mod.

    Properly Armed

With the correct tools and planning, my wife and I were able to install the X-Pipe along with the BBK headers in just over four (4) hours! Take your time, use the correct tools, keep your fenders covered and use plenty of anti-seize (you'll appreciate it later).

    Race Car GROWL

installed these with the bbk longtube headers on my new 2012, everything else is stock but WOW sounds like a pure race car, couldn't ask for a better growl. soft at idle, but after 3,000RPM... good luck hearing yourself talk. Install was a good 30 minutes after the headers were on, very easy

    IT REALLY IS LOUD

so the fit and finish was nice...install only took about 20 minutes if u don't include the headers I also put on. Bang for ur buck is good cause ur getting something that's a bolt on performance part for less then 200 bucks...BUT! And yes there is a but...this thing makes ur car loud from about 2k rpm and up...so I would not recommend for on street. It sounds amazing at idle and also at WOT. But normal driving it kinda sounds like a Honda...to raspy. overall good product for the right people

    headers/xpipe/exhaust combo is L-O-U-D

BBK headers, xpipe and Ford Racing axlebacks are loud during normal driving, too loud from a stoplight, and ear plug loud at full throttle. You CANNOT go uphill quietly May have to go back to stock axlebacks.... It is that loud

I put in LT headers, a cai and this x pipe in within 6 hours. The x pipe gave my V6 a great muscle car sound that totally rips when I floor it. Even in park the idle sounds great, very satisfied with the outcome!

    BBK Off-Road X-Pipe

A must when installing long tube headers. I was skeptical that the off roads would sound really obnoxious, since high flow cats do give the car some tone. But I was completely wrong. The car sounds amazing and I definitely got an increase in power with this x-pipe and the long tube headers. A must for any V6 owner!

I am happy to say that I really enjoy this product. Was very easy to install and fit perfectly into the car. Sounds very good when bolted up to the long tube headers. Gives the v6 some power to its sound. I would highly recommend this product.

    Beautiful Sound

Definitely would go with the catted for any car that isn't for the track. Use my car for the track and they make it sound so aggressive and it's amazing. Had it done by a custom shop. Took them a day and a half with a cold air intake and headers tuned.

Awesome BUT beware of the sound

i got this with the bbk long tube headers/borla s-type axleback and this is just overbearingly loud for a DD. its high-pitched, raspy, and too loud for the actual speed with my setup. dont get me wrong i LOVE the performance it has added but i am working with an exhaust shop to change the volume and tone of the car. i would recommend this product but beware its loud in a raspy way and hard to control the sound with an automatic.

    Awesome product!!!

I had bought bbk catted x pipe before and the cats went bad so I decided to go for the straight pipe. Best desicion ever!!! A lot louder than before. Only thing is the check engine light stays on, nothing that a tuner can't take care of.

    LOUD !

Had the BBK headers & off road pipe installed, took my mechanic 4hrs , the off road pipe is very loud & raspy ! Too loud for my daily driving, great for the drag strip! So I'm going to get the cattted x pipe . This is a great product, just very loud.

i bought bbk's long tube headers and decided to go with an off-road x-pipe. first because of price difference and second for power. direct fit with new headers. didn't take anytime to put on. great sound and big horsepower gain. was worried about gas mileage. got a tune with my parts and didn't loose anything when i do it because of how i drive. would recommend to anyone.
