Description
Functional Heat Extractor Hood. The Type-ZL1 Style Heat Extractor Hood, unpainted, is designed to replace the factory hood with a model inspired by the ZL1. Its functional vents help accelerate the escape of hot air from the engine bay, enhancing cooling performance and under-hood temperature management — especially important for high-performance or spirited driving.
Construction And Appearance. Crafted from hand-laid high-quality fiberglass and resin, this hood offers durability combined with a smooth gel coat finish on both the top and underside. The gel coat finish simplifies paint preparation and ensures a professional look once installed. Included aluminum wire mesh grill inserts maintain airflow while protecting the vents where applicable.
Installation. Installation utilizes the factory hinges and latch, making the process simpler without the need for major modifications or drilling in most cases. It is recommended to dry fit the hood before painting and hand-finishing to ensure proper fit and finish.
Application. This hood is designed specifically for 2014-2015 Camaro LS and LT V6 models. It is not compatible with ZL1 or other Camaro generations, so proper fitment should be confirmed before purchase.
