I’m Justin with, and today I have with me 3 different brake pad options, all from Hawk Performance. We’re looking at the ceramic, the HPS, and the HP+, for both front and rear that will offer a broad range of performance that will suit everything from a bone stock daily driver, to an all out race course monster. Any one of these pads will far outperform your stock pads in just about every way, more braking performance, less fade and dust. However it’s very important you select the right pad for your application, so with that in mind, let’s break these 3 options down a little further. First up is the ceramic option from Hawk. These are going to be an ideal OE replacement and be perfectly suited for any daily driver, they’re going to bite strong without needing to be hot, be very quiet, and offer very minimal dust. This is all thanks to that ceramic compounds, which offers a nice balance between performance and everyday streetability. The next pad, the Hawk HPS will be right in the middle between the ceramics and the HP+ and will be for a daily driver or a weekend warrior, whose car does see a little track time and are just looking for a little bit more bite, and less fade. These pads utilize a therocarbon compound which does benefit from a little heat in order to perform their best but still offer great performance when cold. It is worth pointing out that these pads can be a little noisy when cold, and will definitely put off a little bit more dust than the ceramics, but all around, the HPS are a solid performer. Finally, we have the HP+. These are going to be for someone who subjects their Mustang to road courses and auto crossing where repetitive fade and high heat can kill lesser pads. Can you use these pads on the street? Yes, however, these pads feature a high temperature specific compound with a very high friction coefficient, which means these pads need to be hot and stay hot in order to perform at their best, like on a road course or an auto cross track. Once hot, these HP+ pads will bite hard, and offer great performance with very little fade, these pads tend to be very noisy and put off a good amount of dust, however since they’re geared more towards a race car versus a show car, most folks should be fine with that. Installing these pads from Hawk or any brake pads at that matter is a pretty simple task if you’ve never tackled brakes before. Due to the aggressive compounds of these pads, Hawk included a grease, to be used in conjunction with the included shim located on the back of the pad just to keep the noise level down. It’s very important that you use the grease on the back of the pad and not on the front of the pad, just so you don’t mess up your new brakes. Overall, getting the fronts and rears installed should only take you about 2 hours from start to finish. When it comes down to it, brake pads and tires are 2 of the biggest factors when it comes to helping your car stop faster. So try upgrading your Mustang to a quality pad like one of these Hawk options, and discover the difference in your braking performance.

    Super brake pads! They are super quiet pads you just have to install them right! Follow the recommended instructions on installation and break them in properly. Great stopping power and clean rims all the time. I will be buying the front set soon.

    Great Up grade

    Ordered these for my GT500 on Thursday and had them on my car by Monday afternoon. First thing I noticed was the squeal was gone. The initial bite was hard and was reassuring. Great for daily driving. The best part is the lack of dust. The stock brakes would cover my wheels in a day. Its been a week and so far so good.

    Very Happy with these new brake pads

    I was hesitant in buying this brand of brake pads because I wasn't familiar with the name. But now I am glad I made the right choice. I am impressed with the low dust on my rims I haven't replaced the front stock pads yet but I can see the difference in the amount of brake dust between the two. I know that the front always has more dust than the rear but I can see the difference from when I was using stock rear pads.

    No issues

    These brake pads worked just fine. I dont know about the previous reviews talking about the retaining clips not working. If you know what you are doing they go in just fine. I have about 2200 miles on these pads and notice no extra noise and the brake dust is very low. I recomend these and will definately use them again.

    Hawk Performance Ceramic Brake Pads - Rear Pair (05-12 All)

    I love them, the stopping power is better than the OEM. The installation is simple if you have the correct tools (brake replacement tool kit) since the rear brake calipers are screwed in.

    Great breaks

    These break pads are great! Just like they advertise, ultra low dust. Also they have outstanding breaking power. I don't have any special rotors but I've had to make a few emergency stops and every time these breaks are there to quickly bring me to stop.

    Thsee brake pads are the best super quiet very low dust and will definitely exceed the factory oem pads definitely a bang for the buck but a great performance upgrade and reliable highly recommend these pads thanks American muscle

    Very easy to install the stopping power is way better over stock pads an rotors and the best part is after cleaning the wheels on my shelby I don't have to worry about them being covered in break dust.

    Bought these because the description said little dust. Just over 100 miles and my chrome wheels now are black. Never had this problem with the stock pads. I will probably just go back to the stock when brakes are needed again.

    Great upgrade

    Swapped out the rear pads in about 2 hours. Fit was perfect and no brake noise after the swap. The new pads generate much less dust than stock pad, which is a big plus. I miss the wear indicator tab that other aftermarket pads have, but it's not much extra work to check thickness. My only gripe - for the price, it would be nice if Hawk included new pad retainer clips (hardware) as part if the kit.

    I combined these pads with Powerslot slotted rotors. It seemed to balance the braking a little bit as my front Brembos grab very hard with Hawk ceramic pads. Nice reduction in brake dust.

    very good pads with reasonable price

    I purchased these from AM after calling my dealership for a set of pads. they gave me a price for pads half as good but twice the price.. so I just took the bullet, paid shipping (I live in Canada) and bought it from AM. it was in front of my door in a day! just make sure you buy the tool for the rear brakes, or rent it or something, otherwise it's impossible. I bought the cheap version of that tool which is like a metal cube.. i had to tweak it a bit to get it to work but it was fine afterwards

    great upgrade

    Although I don't use my brakes hard, I wanted to have much better stopping power than the stock Ford setup. I transport my dad (an ex amateur racecar driver) to medical appointments and wanted to keep him away from harm, so I first bought the SSBC front brake upgrade. I was very impressed and decided to go with a rear upgrade. I'm extremely happy with the quietness and great stopping dad commented "that's it". I asked him what he was talking about and he commented on how good the brakes were when traffic stopped suddenly. To me it was not a big deal with the new pads. No drama and great peace of mind. Before, I had to give extra space to stop. It is the stopping power that the stock brakes should have had initially with this type of car.
