    I’m Justin with, and today I have with me 3 different brake pad options, all from Hawk Performance. We’re looking at the ceramic, the HPS, and the HP+, for both front and rear that will offer a broad range of performance that will suit everything from a bone stock daily driver, to an all out race course monster. Any one of these pads will far outperform your stock pads in just about every way, more braking performance, less fade and dust. However it’s very important you select the right pad for your application, so with that in mind, let’s break these 3 options down a little further. First up is the ceramic option from Hawk. These are going to be an ideal OE replacement and be perfectly suited for any daily driver, they’re going to bite strong without needing to be hot, be very quiet, and offer very minimal dust. This is all thanks to that ceramic compounds, which offers a nice balance between performance and everyday streetability. The next pad, the Hawk HPS will be right in the middle between the ceramics and the HP+ and will be for a daily driver or a weekend warrior, whose car does see a little track time and are just looking for a little bit more bite, and less fade. These pads utilize a therocarbon compound which does benefit from a little heat in order to perform their best but still offer great performance when cold. It is worth pointing out that these pads can be a little noisy when cold, and will definitely put off a little bit more dust than the ceramics, but all around, the HPS are a solid performer. Finally, we have the HP+. These are going to be for someone who subjects their Mustang to road courses and auto crossing where repetitive fade and high heat can kill lesser pads. Can you use these pads on the street? Yes, however, these pads feature a high temperature specific compound with a very high friction coefficient, which means these pads need to be hot and stay hot in order to perform at their best, like on a road course or an auto cross track. Once hot, these HP+ pads will bite hard, and offer great performance with very little fade, these pads tend to be very noisy and put off a good amount of dust, however since they’re geared more towards a race car versus a show car, most folks should be fine with that. Installing these pads from Hawk or any brake pads at that matter is a pretty simple task if you’ve never tackled brakes before. Due to the aggressive compounds of these pads, Hawk included a grease, to be used in conjunction with the included shim located on the back of the pad just to keep the noise level down. It’s very important that you use the grease on the back of the pad and not on the front of the pad, just so you don’t mess up your new brakes. Overall, getting the fronts and rears installed should only take you about 2 hours from start to finish. When it comes down to it, brake pads and tires are 2 of the biggest factors when it comes to helping your car stop faster. So try upgrading your Mustang to a quality pad like one of these Hawk options, and discover the difference in your braking performance.

      Solid Buy!

      The stock Brembos can get a little squeaky from time to time and can be pretty embarrassing. I wanted to great stopping power without the annoying squeal so decided to try out the Hawk Ceramic Brake Pads. Great Choice!

      Great Pads

      These pads are great. There is no braking noises, and the ceramic material has greatly reduced the amount of brake dust on my wheels.

      Great Bite!

      Really like these pads over stock. They grab and don't let go. It gives me more confidence in the braking where the OEM's seemed to have less resistance. Brake dust is the same though, but not worse. I defiantly recommend.

      Brembo pad change is ridiculously easy to do.

      Same statement applies to the front Hawk pads as their rear pads: cost a bit more than other brands but the Four stars for the B for B. Other brands are less expensive, but the Hawk name and reputation is worth the extra 10 price. The Brembo version is easy to change (if you plan ahead with some type of plier-device to deal with compressing the pistons). Thin-bladed Carpenter's clamps work fine and their plastic-covered clamping pads protect the powdercoating on the Brembo caliper. You'll need two clamps as depicted on many of the YouTube demos.

      Superior Alternative

      Ford quoted me $600 (!!) for replacement Brembos, so I immediately went to American Muscle and found these. They were pretty straight forward to install, and after a week of driving I definitely think they are on par, if not better than the Brembos. Stopping power is excellent and reassuring, and the low brake dust of the ceramics is also definitely a plus. All in all, I think they outdo the Brembos, and for the price it is a great buy.

      Saved some money

      Dealer wanted $750 just for the front Brembo pads. Crazy! I have been braking really really hard and the stopping power is almost as good as stock (I did resurface the rotors). Next time I will try HPS and new rotors. Much less brake dust and they sound the same as stock.

      very easy to install these, i took my time but maybe an hour job

      these seem to have same stopping power as the originals pads on my Boss, I have heard that going to ceramic pads I would have a softer pedal but not the case with these, break in was simple and they stop great, only reason I changed was the factory pads make to much dust, these seem to be a lot better so far.       Great upgrade

      Ordered these for my GT500 on Thursday and had them on my car by Monday afternoon. First thing I noticed was the squeal was gone. The initial bite was hard and was reassuring. Great for daily driving. The best part is the lack of dust. The stock brakes would cover my wheels in a day. Its been a week and so far so good.

      Easy install for Brembos

      Never did a brake pad job myself; took the car to a do-it-yourself shop as I own virtually no tools. Had the car lifted and the pads changed nice and quick, probably 30 minutes total for the front. Don't have to deal with the annoying Ford slotting brake piston in the back, much easier to do with Brembos. I've only had them on a day but I have already noticed they bite nice are hard. And best of all, my brakes isn't squeaking anymore.

      The pads that came with my Vintage Venom Brembo upgrade squealed so badly my wife didn't even want to talk to me on the phone in the car, and everyone always knew when I arrived home because of the noise. It's totally gone with these ceramics, and I still have fantastic braking power. And the reduction in dust on my chrome Cobra R's is like night and day, literally.

      Surprisingly good

      I am very impressed with the increased stopping power. Took a little bit to get used to it. There is the tiniest little squeaky from time to time so I wouldn't call the completely silent but it is well worth it for the performance. I would highly recommend these pads.

      Jury is still out

      So I have to say based on everything I read on these pads I was expecting a different feel. I didn't get it with the stock rotors. They stop fine and the pedal is smooth. People were saying it provides better bite but I'm not feeling it. Now with rotors I'm sure the combination will be great. The biggest win is the dust or should I say the lack of dust. I have driven over a week without cleaning the car and the wheels don't even have a haze of brake dust. Simply amazing. The lack of brake dust and the quiet operation make these an excellent buy even with stock pads.

      Easiest Brake Pad replacement I've done

      First off, YES, these fit on 12-14 Brembo equipped GTs. As always, American Muscle has blown me away with getting me anything I've ordered very quickly. I ordered these on Sunday evening and they were on the truck at my location on Tuesday. UPS delivered on Wednesday morning. Price is fantastic. My local Ford Dealer quoted me $250 just for the pads, so AMs price was right on the money! I couldn't ask for better pricing and service!! I'll be honest; I really should have looked at a video on how to get the pins out before starting work. This was my FIRST install on pads with Brembo Brakes. Once I figured out how to get the pins out, it literally took me less than 15 mins each side to get the old pads out and the new ones in. Compressing the pistons was easier than on any other car I've done brakes for. Overall performance of the brakes is really good. Just a little better than the stock Brembo pads. They've only been on for less than 20 miles so I can't comment on the "ultra-low dust" that Hawk advertised. So far, I'm VERY happy!!! Again, thank you American Muscle!!!

      squeal gone

      I installed both the front and rear pads on my 2008 Shelby GT500. With 12,000+ miles on the car and the original factory pads, a squeal had developed during slow speed stops. Additionally, a short trip of 25 miles would produce brake dust on the front rims. However after replaceing the factory pads with the Hawk pads, I have no squeal at any speed, little to no brake dust and a much better brake feel. Since I had so few miles on the car, I did not have to turn the rotors and the install was easy and quick. I highly recommend these pads for street and track use.

      Excellent stopping power!

      Takes about an hour to install. Heck it takes longer to hoist it up an remove the wheels than it does to change the pads on the Brembo's. Better than stock stopping power and no noise so far. A little high priced for ceramic pads but way less that stock replacements and very high quality. I feel very confident with these braking my GT500 and would recommend them to anyone.

      To say this car made brake dust is an understatement, 50 miles and performance white looked grey. Little dust, smooth and linear feel, no noise, and did I say LITTLE dust!
