Ask a Question

Two questions. I have the Redline Elite hood struts - will they work with this hood? I didn't see cutouts for the mounts. Second, will the ram air work with my JLT cold air breather or do I have to use the stock airbox? THANKS

  • We do not recommend using hood struts with the Cervini's Concept Hood unless they were specifically designed for aftermarket fiberglass hoods, as these will weigh more than the OEM aluminum, which can stress the hood struts, and over stressing of the fiberglass can occur, causing cracks. A JLT Cold Air Intake can be used with the ram air openings of this hood, but to get the full effect, a stock airbox would be required.

I've been looking at this hood for a long time. I've never seen it mentioned along with the GT500 ('07-). When you say "GT", I assume that includes the gt500. I hope that's the case, b/c I intend to eventually order the GT500 ft. end kit also. Also, the comments seem to indicate that you struts are not strong enough for this hood. Is that true?

  • The Cervini's Concept Hood will only fit 05-09 GT, and V6 Mustangs. It will not fit the 07-14 GT500. The MMD Hood Strut kits are designed for the Factory Hoods. However, the RedLine Tuning Hood QuickLIFT System does have an Aftermarket Hood option. Here is a link to those Hood Struts:

Functional Ram Air I have a couple of questions about the functional ram air option with this hood. I currently have the C&L Street air intake with AM/Bama torque tunes. 1) Will the ram air addition work with the C&L intake, or does it replace it, or is it simply not compatible? 2) Is a tune (or update) required/recommended if I go this route? I know we're not talking about massive gains here, but I also know these cars can be picky about changes in air intake. Thanks in advance!

  • Hi, The Cervini's Functional Ram Air Kit for this Cervini's Concept Hood - Unpainted can not be used with a Cold Air Intake, If you use the ram air kit a tune update will be needed if you are going from a cold air intake to a stock air box.

water intrusion? I live in Florida and wanted to know if there was any way that water could get into the engine bay through the hood vents. i have narrowed my choices down to this hood or the heat extractor hood

  • I can't tell you that you won't get water in the engine bay. Even driving ANY CAR in rain, water will splash into the bay. Looking at it on-line, it looks like a formula hood my buddy has on his car. (I won't say the car's builders), but he has no problem with his. I had a car that took in air directly under the bumper and had no problems. Unless you are gonna drive through creeks it should be fine.

Cervini's Hood for My UK Mustang GT 06

Although large, fitting was simple, and quick. Only the screen washer jets are proving a little challenge as they squirt too low (there is no room to raise them). Also the bulkhead seal rubber clips from the old hood would not fit the pre-drilled holes (too small). The hood came damaged, with a ding on the front edge. It had been repaired badly before shipping. Also it was painted white. (Returned stock ?) The paint shop will make good the damage and build out for a perfect fit. Thus the fitting will be better than the Ford original!! Do I regret the purchase NO. It will look stunning once it is painted T8. As far as I can tell my Mustang is the only one in the UK with this model of hood. Priceless!!

    Nice but Breoken

Hood came sealed in the box but was badly damaged. Must have been packaged that way. Over 7 days and still do not have the shipping labels that were promised to process the return. Frustrated to say the least.

    Cross Brace Clearance

Needed some bodywork to get the front lip to flow perfectly with the fenders. There was also some clearance issues with the strut tower brace - hood closed fine but noticed later that some paint was rubbed off due to contacting the brace. Very sturdy product and the ram air looks good.

    Great Hood

Ordered the hood due to a deer accident, and wasn't disappointed with the results. The hood looks great, fits great, and wasn't too bad on budget either! I'd say for anyone wanting that different, stand out of a crowd look, this is the way to go!

    Cervini's Concept Hood

I bought the Cervini's Concept Hood cause my stock hood had paint coming off from the front. Same old Ford corrosion issues. And after doing a lot of research I decided to go with Cervini's Concept Hood. My body shop guy initially was not excited about after market hood but after seeing the hood he was so amazed with it he said he would recommend this hood to other people and he said he had not seen or installed a better hood than this. And also I love the way my mustang looks now.

    Nice addition

2009 son's. He got a little frisky and we ended up needing a hood replacement. Bought this and the GT conversion kit...along with the halo/projection headlights. Body shop did great work...currently experiencing visual vibration between the hinges...rough road translates through the body and the hood vibrates. Haven't had a chance to talk to the body shop...anybody have any ideas?

    Great looking hood!!!

This hood is a great looking hood but it didn't start out that way one side of the hood was longer then the other the width was uneven too but the shop I brought it to was great and was able to fix the problems I other then that it's a good sturdy Hood and It really gives a mean look to my stang

    Functional aggressive look!

Great quality with Cervini. Like all body parts I would recommend having painted/installed at collision repair paint/body shop. They have all the experience. I purchased ram air kit, nozzle relocation kit, and hydraulic supports to go with hood. All look great and work well. You will have to purchase a little longer mounting bolts for hood due to that included bolts are ment to be installed with hood hinges only and with added hydraulic supports the width is increased. Small fix for such a dramatic look and functional hood.

    High Quality Product

Very high quality fiberglass hood. Heavier then the stock aluminum hood. Best to leave this one to the paint pros, requires a fair amount of prep work and baking in a oven to have it come out correct and clean in the end.

    Great product

I had the unpainted hood shipped to my body shop to save on the shipping cost. The shop had to block sand the hood to smooth out some ripples, basically paint prep work. They also elongated the hood bracket holes to pull the hood back about 3/8" for a perfect fit. There was already a prop rod hole and I was surprised to see that the hidden washer squirters were also included and looked great. The shop guy said it was a very good hood and I'm completely satisfied with the result.

    Perfect Fit

This hood is a perfect fit for my 2009 GT. Physically perfect - and the lines fit very well with the fastback body. One tip - you may need stronger hood struts to keep the hood up with the added weight of the Ram Air kit to the front of the hood.

    Cervini's concept hood

I actually received my car with the hood already on it so im not sure where it was bought from but the hood itself is great it looks amazing and actally works good on cooling the engine bay. the only problem is it's fiber glass so it's a little heavier so im getting the cervini's struts for it to make it a little easier when working under the hood. overall great buy for sure! not too bulky nor to blank of a look. i get compliments all day long.

    Great Look!

My hood looks great! but it was a pain to get done. It was damaged when I received the part, and it required a lot more prep work. The whole thing had to be touched up before they were able to apply any paint and ended up costing me an extra $200

    Mean Hood!

I ordered this hood on a Wednesday and it was literally on my car, painted, and ready for the show room by the following Tuesday. It required minimal prep work prior to painting and looks amazing. I would recommend getting the optional Ram Air Kit as well. Otherwise, your engine bay is going to get a little dirty.
