- How to Install Wheels on Your 1979-2013 Mustang
Hey I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and I’m checking out the AMR wheels fitting all 2005 and newer Mustangs available in your choice of either gloss black, silver, and charcoal. These concave multispoke design wheels have quickly become a fan favorite and are a good option for a Mustang owner who’s looking to take a break from the standard 5 spoke wheel design, typically found with a Bullitt or Cobra style wheel. The lightweight aluminum AMR’s are offered in several different sizing options, including an 18, 19 and 20” diameter, and an 8, 8 ½, 9 and 10” width. Because there’s several different sizing options, you can easily stick a wider wheel in the back with a more narrow one up front to help you achieve that classic muscle car stance known as staggered fitment, or on the other hand, you can put the same width wheel on all 4 corners, which will give you a standard fitment and allow you to properly rotate your tires in the future. To give you a better idea of how these wheels might look on your own ride, we outfitted some of the cars here in the shop with the wheels, starting with our 2011 GT behind me, which is equipped with the 20” version in charcoal, our 2013 back there on the lift is sporting the very sleek 18” AMR’s in gloss black, while finally our 2000 V6 back on the Dynojet is rocking the 19” version in silver. Of course you can purchase these wheels by themselves if you’d like, however the smart move would be to take advantage of one of our pre built tire and wheel combinations, where we pair your new AMR’s up with some of the top performing tires on the market today, in sizes that are guaranteed to fit without rubbing, even if you’re lowered an inch or two. On top of that, you get to take advantage of our free mounting and balancing, and free shipping and handling. Finally, all AmericanMuscle wheels are backed by a 1 year warranty on all finishes, and a lifetime structural warranty. When you receive your new set of wheels and tires from AmericanMuscle, you’ll find that installing them is just as easy as ordering them, you’ll first want to make sure the car is on level ground and then crack the lugs loose before you get the car in the air, after that, jack the car up and swap out all 4 wheels and tires, and that's it, you can easily do all this in your driveway in about an hour’s time using some basic hand tools and a floor jack. These AMR wheels have become more and more popular with Mustang owners everywhere, and after seeing them on our own cars here in the shop, it’s easy to see why, so be sure to check out a set for your ride, right here at AmericanMuscle.com

Mounting & Balancing: AmericanMuscle offers professional mounting and balancing on all wheels and tires when purchased together on the same order. This will allow you to swap out your old wheels for your new set when they arrive.
What is TPMS? The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS for short) is a factory installed safety feature on all 2007 and newer Ford Mustangs that alerts you when your tire pressure drops to an unsafe limit.
How do I keep my TPMS feature? Aftermarket wheels do not come with TPMS sensors. However, if you select 'Add TPMS Sensor Kit' and your specific year range from the options listed above, we'll install the TPMS Sensors in your new wheels!

Overall I’m very pleased with these wheels. They do take a lot of weight to balance them but for the price you get a very nice looking wheel. They will catch a lot of dirt in the valleys though. You’ll constantly be cleaning them but they look great.Helpful (1)

I couldn't believe the lack of quality in these wheels. When i got them i immedialty found spots on all four wheels where the paint had ran before it was dry. Have had them for a couple months now and still can't get them balanced to smooth out the ride. The worst part was when i tried to put them on, the rear wheels would not bolt on all the way because of the amount of offset. AM had to send me a set of 1/4" wheel spacers. The rear tires in the kit are a lower profile than the front ones as well, so if you are looking for a true staggered set up with a little fatter tires on the back, DO NOT GET THIS SET. They do look alright from a distance thoughHelpful (9)
Brake clearance Will this wheel on the front clear Brembo brakes without wheel spacers?
yes! I have the brembos on my gt500 they have plenty of room you can actually stick your finger in between the brake cover and rim thats how much space there is. Great wheel for a great price. I am very happy with them.
255/40ZR19 Tires Fit Will the track pack's 255/40ZR19 tires fit on these rims?
Just wondering when you order a staggered kit why is the front tire always 5millameter higher
The sidewall actually doesn't work out to be that simple. When you see a 245/45-19, this is listing that the tire is 245 millimeters wide, and will fit on a 19 inch tall wheel. The 45 number is a percentage. So, in this case, 45% of 245 is what the sidewall will be comprised of. So, if you do the math, the 245/45-19 has a sidewall height of 110.25 millimeters, and the 275/40-19 has a sidewall height of 110 millimeters. So, it turns out they are basically the same height!
Hello. probably a stupid question......If I fill with Nitrogen and the tire pressure goes down...can I fill up with (regular) air? Will this unbalance anything/cause problems? Thank you in advance!
Yes, you are able to fill you tires back up with air, but you would lose the benefits of nitrogen if you did this.
Do they clear the '13 GT500 6 piston brembos? Do the fit over the 6 piston brembos on the 13 gt500? From what I can see, the clearance drops off from the outer rim to the inner side of the wheel Please advise
The AMR Charcoal Wheel in a 19x8.5 should be able to clear 2013 GT500 Brembo brake kit. There is a fitment guide on the item page that shows what year and model mustangs these wheels will fit. If you have any other fitment questions please call or send us a email we can help you out with any of your questions. http://www.americanmuscle.com/contact.html
The Staggered AMR Charcoal Wheel & NITTO INVO Tire Kit - 19x8.5/10 (05-14 All) will clear all brembo brakes.
Yes, increasing wheel/tire diameter will affect your speedometer. By increasing the tire diameter, you change the RPM of the tire, which will throw off your Speedo. You can correct the speedo easily with a handheld tuner.
It's generally between 30-35. We recommend checking the vehicle manual to confirm.
You should follow inflation instructions that are detailed on your vehicle's inner door jamb for optimal pressure.
Yes, that wheel will fit just fine. We can guarantee fitment for as large as a 275 in the rear considering the 2 inch drop.
Spacers are not required for stock applications.
Yes, these wheels will work with your Mustangs brembo brakes and would have enough clearance.
This wheel and tire kit will be compatible with lowered mustangs up to a 2" drop. As for the TPMS sensors, you will be able to reuse your factory sensors with this kit.
The AMR Wheels are constructed of a cast aluminum design.
The 255's will be a 27" diameter and 10" wide whereas the 305's will be a 26.2 diameter and 12" wide
