Review & Installation Video

Review & Install Video

Hey, everybody. I'm Justin with AmericanMuscle.com and welcome to my detailed review of the Corsa Sport Catback Exhaust System, available for your 2015 and up Fastback GT. The Corsa Sport Catback is the combination of the Touring Series Axleback here paired with the unique double helix X-pipe from Corsa. Now I'm not going to lie, the Corsa Touring Series Axleback by itself paired up with the factory resonator is pretty mild. But once you remove that resonator and replace it with the double helix X-pipe, the exhaust really comes to life as you guys just heard. In my opinion, it's going to be the perfect middle-of-the road catback. Meaning it's not going to be too aggressive and it's definitely not too mild. These systems aren't exactly cheap. In fact, the Corsa systems are some of the priciest here on the site. But with that in mind, those of you who are prepared to throw down a rather large investment on a quality catback will not be disappointed and here's why. You're getting full 304 grade stainless steel from tip to tip, 3" mandrel-bent tubing, beautiful welds, the included double helix X-pipe of course, and 4-1/2" tips. Polished is going to be your stock option. You can spend a few more dollars and opt for the black chrome, which I have on the table with me here. And last but not least we have the Touring Series mufflers. Now I know what you're thinking: "Touring series? I thought this was a Sport Catback?" Well, here's the deal, guys. Corsa has essentially created four different systems using only two mufflers. You start with the Touring Series muffler here, add in their double helix X-pipes, and you they have the Sport Catback. Start with a slightly more aggressive Sport Axleback, add in that same X-pipe, and now you have the more aggressive extreme cat-back. I know it sounds a little confusing, but you can consider yourself brought up to speed. The mufflers also include Corsa's patented RSC Technology or reflective sound cancellation, which basically means these things are going to offer plenty of bark when you're on the loud pedal but are going to be whisper quiet and drone free when you're cruising on the highway. As you guys just heard, the Corsa definitely delivers some solid tone. It is pretty aggressive. So for that reason we'll call it a four-out-of-five on my one-to-five "I don't want to wake the neighbors" scale. Now my opinion, it is the perfect cat-back. It's not too loud. It's not too quiet. The Corsa Extreme, if you are going to sheer volume, then that is going to be the cat-back for you. This styles it down a notch or two, and again it's just right in the middle. It's not going to be too crazy or obnoxious but it's still going to be heard when you're on the road. All right, guys, we talked about a lot of things so far in this video. Now let's get into the install. One of the nice things about the cat-back systems for the new S550 GTs is they require no cutting for the most part. That's certain true here with the Corsa. This is a direct bolt-on modification, it's an easy one-out-of-three wrenches on my difficulty meter, maybe an hour or two worth of your time when it's all said and done. I will say it's a little easier if you do have an extra set of hands on hand ready to help you out here. But either way, figure some basic hand tools and you'll be making noise in no time. The Corsa Sport is one of my top three favorite catbacks for the new S550 GT and here's why. It offers a tone that's going to be get you heard. It's not going to be obnoxious yet it's still livable even if and when long tube headers do get factored into the equation. If you're cool with selling a kidney to get a top quality premium exhaust system, then you're definitely going to love the Corsa Sport. Available here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Sport Performance Sound. Corsa Performance Sport Cat-Back systems are acoustically styled and engineered to give your 5.0L Coyote powered S550 Mustang a robust high performance sound under acceleration and a nice growl at idle all without interior cabin drone. A Corsa Sport Cat-Back will also improve your pony's exhaust flow for an increase in overall performance.

Race Car Growl. The included Corsa X-Pipe for the S550 GT Mustang's not only helps improve exhaust flow for an increase in power, but with its modern double helix "X" crossover design it also adds a crisp raspy, race car growl to the sound of your Pony's exhaust.

RSC™ Technology. Corsa designs their mufflers using their own patented Reflective Sound Cancellation® Technology (RSC™) to give your Mustang an aggressive sound under acceleration and a drone-free experience while cruising.

Quality Construction. Corsa Cat-Back systems are manufactured in the USA from 3.0" diameter premium grade 304 stainless steel tubing for a improved exhaust flow and a perfect fit. The system includes a double helix X-pipe and features two straight-through mufflers that end with mirror polished 4.5" Pro-Series tips. This 3" Cat-Back also includes step down flanges so it can be installed with the stock 2.5" exhaust.

Application. This Corsa Performance Sport 3.0" Cat-Back exhaust system is designed as a direct bolt on replacement for all 2015-2017 GT Mustangs equipped with the Coyote 5.0L V8 engine. Please select Fastback or Convertible from the options above.

2016 Gt Premium and Performance pack: I racked my brain for ever and a day before deciding which exhaust to go with. This is the only exhaust that does not have that sound of "tin" being banged in the upper rpm range. I had trouble deciding between sport and extreme and if you are reading this review I bet you are in the same boat. Biggest difference is the sport does sound deeper and throatier. The extreme is high pitch and sounds good, but do not be fooled the sport is loud when you get on it, and sounds great up to 7,000rpm. Deep tone, loud when you want it to be.

    Corsa Sport Catback

I just picked up a 2016 GT Premium and my exhaust was already on the way. The install of this product was not difficult at all and took a couple hours, which included aligning the tips and such. Had a bit of trouble getting the left factory exhaust clamp off but that is not an issue with the Corsa Sport product. The sound with this exhaust is amazing, driving around calmly there is a nice rumble but as soon as you step on it it screams. I love it. Start up is fairly loud for a couple seconds and then it settles back down. There is absolutely no drone at all. Theres a great rumble when accelerating but when cruising its like you have stock exhaust on, which is really unique IMO. When Corsa says no drone they really mean it. This exhaust is great for anyone who wants to be quiet when they want to, but loud whenever they feel the need. Great product by Corsa and I highly recommend it.

    Perfect sound!

Purchased this system last week. Install was pretty straight forward. I bought a set of ramps and backed the car up on them. Was a tight squeeze as I am not a petite guy!. But only took a little over two hours with hand tools. My only variation from instructions was that I loosened the brackets closest to back bumper to allow sliding the old exhaust back enough to come free from the mid pipes. Quality materials and the sound is exactly what I wanted. Quiet in car when you want and roars when you hit the throttle!

Sounds like a Mustang should sound

You get what you pay for. This product fit perfectly and is everything it was advertised as. The sound is beautiful and when people ride in my car they can't believe how quiet it is with the windows up. It took my authorized Ford mechanic less than an hour to install.

This exhaust has exactly the sound I was looking for! One of the pieces was bent on the end. I had to hammer it out so that the two pieces would fit together. Other than that great construction and craftsmanship. I think this issue could have been corrected with better attention to detail when it was originally packed. It took about 2 hours to install. That time includes jacking up and placing on jack stands.

    All Fun No Drone

The Corsa Cat-Back Exhaust is one the best I've ever had before. While accelerating the car really comes to life but is incredibly silent when driving along the highway. Anybody interested in an exhaust that will provide plenty of noise when wanted but not an obnoxious amount when cruising should certainly purchase a corsa exhaust immediately.

    Impressive sound

This exhaust sounds amazing. Very smooth and crisp. It is also quiet while cruising with no drone and also not too loud during normal driving which is why I chose the Corsa Sport over the Xtreme. I would definitely recommend this exhaust no complaints at all.

    The perfect catback

On my 17 with cats, the corsa is exotic sounding and just plain rips at WOT. In 5/6th gear cruising on flat road, it is almost silent. Absolutely zero drone at any time. On an incline when under slight load you will hear the exhaust inside, which emits a very low freq. growl, but just barely. Even when WOT it is not loud in the interior, but definitely can wake the neighbors. Cold startup is pretty loud, but quiets down quickly. The fit and finish are exceptional.

    Great growl, perfect fit

I had a professional mechanic install a "Corsa Sport" cat-back exhaust system on my 2016 Mustang GT/CS. The installation took 45 minutes, and the mechanic said that unlike some after market exhaust systems that require significant amounts of rework (cutting and welding) during the installation, the Corsa system fit perfectly with no rework required of any kind. The system has the unmistakable Corsa 'growl' during any acceleration whatever, but it is whisper quiet in cruise.

    Corsa Sport

After a lot or research, I went with sport over extreme. It was delivered the next day and with no damage to the box. Buying with AM has always been a positive experience. I haven't heard extreme live, but the sport is loud at WOT and low enough to talk in cabin in lower revs. It's pricey but a solid investment. The build quality is good, installation was fast and it changes the attitude of the car entirely. By nature, it is not obnoxious, but can get that way if that's what you want. It's nice to have the option. I have and will continue to spend my money with AM as long as the customer service quality stays the way it is, which is excellent.

    Great system!

This exhaust is everything I wanted and more. I chose the sport because it sounded deeper than the extreme. They don't lie this system has zero drone. Sounds good from inside the car but even better from outside the car.

Sounds better than any clips you can find!

Love it!!! Straight forward install... actually took longer to get the stock exhaust removed than to install the Corsa. This thing sounds awesome!! Zero drone when cruising but when you are on the gas it sounds sinister! Well worth the price.
