I’m Dave from AmericanMuscle.com and today I have a clutch made for us by a well-known stock and performance clutch manufacturer, Exedy. And this one is the Mach 350 Stage 1 Clutch fitting the 96-04 GTs. The Mach 350 Stage 1 Clutch is sold exclusively at AmericanMuscle.com and is designed to hold more horse power and torque then your slippery factory clutch; in fact it’s a great upgrade from your factory clutch. The quality of this product comes from the fact that unlike other aftermarket clutch manufacturers Exedy makes there’s from scratch; this is not a modified OE part, this is made from high strength ductal steel and is guaranteed to be durable and reliable. And again, this is not an OE pressure plate that has been modified and painted. Combine this with the special friction special friction material on the clutch disc you are going to get a strong and reliable clutch that feels like stock but out performs it. The center of this clutch features a high torque spring that’s going to help absorb and deflect high levels of torque under hard driving; it’s going to help alleviate some of the stress on the driveline, the clutch, and the driver. Now that high torque spring is also going to work great under high RPM clutch engagement to absorb some of that torque and help keep the clutch intact and give you consistent performance from gear to gear. This clutch is designed specifically to handle the strength and bite required for a mustang and Exedy has built and tested this clutch to make sure it acts like a stock, but with loads more power and amazing performance. That’s part of what makes this clutch perfect for the daily driver, or the weekend cruiser or even the weekend racer. The Mach 350 Stage 1 by Exedy won’t blow apart on you and it’s designed to hold the horsepower and torque of the Mustang. Also this part is SFI certified so you can have more confidence it is construction and performance, it’s going to hold up no matter what you use it for or how hard you drive it. Installing this part is a little more involved then your typical bolt on, but it can be done at home, just know that before you get started you do need to remove the exhaust and drop the transmission before you get to your clutch and flywheel bolts. It is possible at home but it’s going to take you about 4 hours to get completed, so if you are not up for the challenge I do recommend you bring it down to your local shop.
