Way too quiet
These mufflers are said to be equal to the bora s type with minor differences. Well, I have to say there is nothing the two have in common other than they are both made by borla. I've heard both setups in person and It's really an insult to even compare this axle back to the s type. They are so quiet I thought I had put the stockers back on. However, it's not all bad, the quality of this axle back is second to none and the tips are beautiful! It really is just a shame that the axle back doesn't sound how it looks.Helpful (7)

Perfect exhaust note
I was looking for something more aggressive than stock but not space shuttle launch loud either. These axle backs are perfect.Helpful (5)

Great look, love the Ford Racing stamped in the tip. Like the rolled lip on the tip edge. I like the welds, clean no rust. Fitment was good although had to bend one of the arms a bit to fit. Sounds great on startup and acceleration, no drone at cruising speeds. Have had many people comment how they love the soundHelpful (8)

Solid Axle Backs For Just the right sound.
I bought the Ford Performance Axle Backs to replace my Borla Ataks. Catless X-pipe and Cobra Jet setup made my exhaust a little too loud for my taste ( loud helicopter with some trumpet sound was not my thing). With the FRPP the exhaust system is now quieter and I have room to add some long tube headers and I expect the sound to be perfect with headers. Currently the sound is nice and opens up to a great race tone when you nail the accelerator. Note that until you put some miles on them they are very quiet. They did become louder for me after about a week of driving and it was a pleasant change. As always AM delivered super fast. For an exhaust that’s a little more aggressive I would look at the Borla S Type and louder than that Corsa. The Ataks are perfect for stock setups and CAI with Xpipes.Helpful (8)

I had the axleback Ford racing mufflers installed, I like the low rumble tone at idle and definitive roar under acceleration, I was reluctant to order these mufflers and considered Borla or Magnaflow, but I decided to keep the Ford brand in my upgrade and I am pleased with the result.Helpful (7)

My Little Pony
I was looking for a nice but not annoying sounding exhaust and these Ford performance mufflers fit the bill. Way better than stock and completely 50 state street legal as well. My only complaint if I were to have one is that they were a little on the pricey side. But as a man once said "Cheap ain't good and good ain't cheap". Installation wasn't too bad and took me about 2 hours laying on my back in my garage. (A lift would have made it a lot faster). They do not come with new clamps so you will have to remove the old ones from that factory mufflers. Once installed the engine seems to run the same with no loss or noticeable gain in power but when you mash the throttle to the floor my little pony sounds amazing!!Helpful (7)

FPS Sport Axle-Back Exhaust.
They have a nice deep tone and look great. Loud but not too loud, just right.Helpful (7)
are these quieter than the GT500 (m5230mgtca1)? I will be adding long tube headers and h-pipe so i need quietest possible muflers since the headers and h-pipe will add more volume. Also i have to replace my over the axle pipes with borla 60521, will these fit with the borla?
The Ford Performance Sport Axle-Back Exhaust would be louder than the GT500 axle back due to their straight through muffler design. We have not tested either of these with the Borla Over axle pipes.
I am having difficulty deciding between the Ford Racing Sport Axle-Back and the Roush Axle-Back. The Ford Racing is considerably more expensive and I am wondering wether it is worth the additional cost. I like the sound of both when listening to audio clips. Thanks for your input. Tim
There aren't many differences between the Ford Performance Sport Axle-Back Exhaust (11-14 GT) and the Ford Performance Sport Axle-Back Exhaust (11-14 GT), item # 50148, (http://www.americanmuscle.com/ford-axleback-2011gt.html). The Sport Axle-Backs feature a T-304 Stainless Steel Tubing while the Roush Axle-Backs feature 409 Stainless Steel tubing. Not to mention the difference in sound. The Roush Axle-Backs are going to be a lot more raspy and the Sport Axle-Backs are going to be more throaty. It all comes down to which sound you like best. I suggest going on Youtube and listening to this Exhaust with other applications installed.
I can only find the Sport and the GT500 axle backs by Ford Racing, but I am not interested in those. Do you sell the Ford Racing "Touring" axle back? Thank you.
We would not currently have the Ford Performance Touring Axle-Back Exhaust at this time.
How do these compare sound wise to the gt500 acle back? Which is louder?
The Ford Performance Sport Axle-Back Exhaust is noise legal in 49 states while the Ford Performance GT500 Style Axle-Back Exhaust is noise legal in 50 states. Both options will give you a deep throaty tone.
Every thing I read is Borla and FRPP for 2015 and newer. Are the 2013 FRPP sport axle backs made by Borla as well?
The 2013 sport axle-backs were Borla made based off of the specs that Ford Racing gave them.
In my opinion they are closest to touring but louder. The touring borla and ford racing touring are pretty much identical.Touring are 50 state legal and sport are 49 legal.
