Calibrated for Optimum Performance. Did you know that the factory Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor could be holding you back from big power numbers? It doesn't matter if you have installed an aftermarket high flow cold air intake or a force induction set up, the simple problem is that the factory calibrated MAF Meter is limited and will "peg" because of too much air. It is just for these situations that Granatelli Motor Sports has custom scaled and calibrated their High Performance MAF Sensor to accurately read higher volumes of air to ensure optimum performance.

Power and Performance. With a 100% increase in airflow over the stock sensor you can expect to see chassis dyno proven increases of 10 to 18 horse power with improvements in performance starting from 2000 rpm's all the way to red line. By installing a GMS High Performance Calibrated MAF Sensor you will not only see an improvement in power and performance, but you will also see an improvement in your fuel mileage and throttle response.

Plug-N-Play Installation. Designed to be a direct fit plug-n-play replacement for the factory sensor this Granatelli Motor Sports Slot-Style MAF Meter installs with just basic hand tools. No extra modifications are required for an easy 15 minute installation. All necessary parts and instructions are included.

Application. This Granatelli Motorsports Slot-Style MAF Sensor Meter is specifically designed to fit 2005 to 2010 GT and Bullitt Mustang models equipped with the Modular 4.6L 3 valve V8 engine. Sold individually.

    Ask a Question

I have a Steeda CAI, Steeda under-drive pulleys, BBK shorty headers, Ford Racing 62mm throttle body, Ford Racing Manifold and Steeda tune for either 87 or 91 octane. Will this MAF help with throwing lean codes and the pinging? Also with throttle response?

    Doss

    • If your car is pinging and throwing lean codes, we suggest correcting these issues first before upgrading additional parts, as sometimes this can compound issues. The GMS High Performance Slot-Style MAF Meter is not designed to correct pinging, throttle response or a lean condition caused by another issue such as a tune or mechanical issue.

My question is why is there no GMS performance mafs/sensor for S197 2005 v6 mustang out there or is there a way to re-program gms mafs/sensor for the v6 mustang like plug-n-play

    Blackpearl

I have a 06 GT with a Procharger P1 setup, along with long tube header, catted X pipe and a cat back exhaust along with a dyno tune. Will this MAF Meter hinder or help with the tune that is installed if I was to install it without a new tune?

    Skippy

    • The GMS High Performance Slot-Style MAF Meter will work with your existing setup, however gains would be minimal, and with a dyno tune, you would want to have the car checked to ensure the new MAF readings are not effecting the way this was tuned.

I am running a CAI system and just installed a Bama performance tune. Will this MAF give me any more performance beyond this?

I'm running the bama performance tune would I need to retune my vehicle in order for this to work properly

    biggrifff

    • This GMS High Performance Slot-Style MAF Meter / Sensor is calibrated and does not require a tune. We highly recommend a tune, especially if your vehicle is not stock. Unfortunately, Bama Performance cannot tune for larger MAF meters, we apologize.

I recently installed an Airaid race intake with a 91 octane Bama tune. I've notice that my stock MAF sensor can't keep up with the set up and pegs when I engage the clutch. Will this GMS MAF sensor work with this set up or is this specifically for stock/factory settings only? Thanks in advance

    • Hello! The GMS High Performance Slot-Style MAF Meter / Sensor will work for your setup.

      Love it!

Honestly I didn't think this GMS senor would do much but I'm a little bit surprised. It preformed better then I thought it would. Arguable one of the easiest mods you can ever do to your car and for a little over 200 dollars, I believe its worth it.

      GMS HP MAF

Wow, this really made the difference w/ air flow after installing the 62mm twin throttle body and cool air induction. I recommend the High Performance Meter / Sensor. It takes care of the pegging along with high idle in park as well as, slow drop from first gear (automatic.) hanging at 1000 rpm. then drop with brake. Especially if you have a supercharger or turbo.

It came wrapped up pretty securely in the box. Literally took 2 and a half minutes to install. I did notice a slight difference in performance.

      Never installed this

I never installed this see to the bama guys telling me to run stock.. "Unfortunately we need you to go back to the stock MAF in order for the tunes to be compatible with your vehicle. with these aftermarket MAF sensors we've seen on occasion that they skew information perceived by the PCM which dictates our fueling. This is vital that we have proper information being read which we've found that only the stock unit provides. we've had many many cars making well over 700hp while still relying on the stock maf with out issues" That's what they told me. So I returned it.. don't know about the product.

      Awesome Sensor

I installed this maf sensor on my 2008 gt/cs and have a JLT cold air kit, msd coil packs, underdrive pulleys and a Tune for the car. This sensor instantly made a difference right away, better response, smoother running easier starting and Best of all it made quite abit of power over the stock sensor. Very Satisfied, did notice a little drop in gas mileage. Like the improved power better then mileage.

      Fixed "Pegging" issue

I ran into an issue where when I floored my car after about 4500 rpm it'd bog down and throw white smoke, it was pretty scary, but it was fine at half or even 3/4 throttle, I have a turbonetics single turbo kit installed so I herd thay it can over load the stock sensor. I changed it out for this one and the problem went away, I can not go WOT and I get a smooth acceleration all the way to red line with no issues. It really helped me out, I'd recommend for forced incuction. I'm running around 8lbs of boost.

      MAFS Upgrade

I swapped out the sensor in about 5 minutes. I fired up the car and it started right up. No issues or problems at all. It was a perfect fit and so far seems to be working perfectly. I haven't driven the car yet but it sounded fine in the garage. Being that this came from AM, I am sure it will perform great!

      The combo

I'm an amateur at best... When I installed the CAI, I also added a new (GMS High Performance Slot-Style MAF Meter / Sensor - calibrated.) both parts are calibrated for stock mustang engines. These two together made a huge sound and performance difference. In my opinion, the car even shifts smother because there is less restriction. It's a great combo. You have to remove the original sensor to install the CAI regardless, so if you have the money, add the performance sensor with it. Anybody can do the install. Consult your America muscle professional if you have any questions.
