I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and today I have with me 3 different brake pad options, all from Hawk Performance. We’re looking at the ceramic, the HPS, and the HP+, for both front and rear that will offer a broad range of performance that will suit everything from a bone stock daily driver, to an all out race course monster. Any one of these pads will far outperform your stock pads in just about every way, more braking performance, less fade and dust. However it’s very important you select the right pad for your application, so with that in mind, let’s break these 3 options down a little further. First up is the ceramic option from Hawk. These are going to be an ideal OE replacement and be perfectly suited for any daily driver, they’re going to bite strong without needing to be hot, be very quiet, and offer very minimal dust. This is all thanks to that ceramic compounds, which offers a nice balance between performance and everyday streetability. The next pad, the Hawk HPS will be right in the middle between the ceramics and the HP+ and will be for a daily driver or a weekend warrior, whose car does see a little track time and are just looking for a little bit more bite, and less fade. These pads utilize a therocarbon compound which does benefit from a little heat in order to perform their best but still offer great performance when cold. It is worth pointing out that these pads can be a little noisy when cold, and will definitely put off a little bit more dust than the ceramics, but all around, the HPS are a solid performer. Finally, we have the HP+. These are going to be for someone who subjects their Mustang to road courses and auto crossing where repetitive fade and high heat can kill lesser pads. Can you use these pads on the street? Yes, however, these pads feature a high temperature specific compound with a very high friction coefficient, which means these pads need to be hot and stay hot in order to perform at their best, like on a road course or an auto cross track. Once hot, these HP+ pads will bite hard, and offer great performance with very little fade, these pads tend to be very noisy and put off a good amount of dust, however since they’re geared more towards a race car versus a show car, most folks should be fine with that. Installing these pads from Hawk or any brake pads at that matter is a pretty simple task if you’ve never tackled brakes before. Due to the aggressive compounds of these pads, Hawk included a grease, to be used in conjunction with the included shim located on the back of the pad just to keep the noise level down. It’s very important that you use the grease on the back of the pad and not on the front of the pad, just so you don’t mess up your new brakes. Overall, getting the fronts and rears installed should only take you about 2 hours from start to finish. When it comes down to it, brake pads and tires are 2 of the biggest factors when it comes to helping your car stop faster. So try upgrading your Mustang to a quality pad like one of these Hawk options, and discover the difference in your braking performance.

Great Stopping Upgrade
I addded a set of Hawk HP Plus Pads to my 2013 Laguna Seca for a track day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The pads provided great life, as well as much improved stopping power with no fade. I am very pleased with the product and have ordered another set as a replacement, once the current set needs replaced.Helpful (6)

Hawk HP Plus
Threw them on my GT TP equipped with Brembos witch makes installation about 10 min Per side so super easy install even if you've never done it. I'm setting up for auto cross but still use the car as a daily and these are the perfect choice if you don't want the brake fade from the factory pads. As far as feeling the brakes are more of an "on" or "off" but in a few days your used to it. Yes they do make some noise when up to temp but only coming to a stop and really isn't bad. The only real negative of these pads is the brake dust they create but are definitely worth the added stoping power!Helpful (6)

Hawk hp plus music
I had these before and they work good . If you don't have any cooling for your brakes they will be as good as long as they don't get too hot . I use my car for autocross and track days . I noticed I get a soft brake pedal once I start gaining more speed . I will be switching over to high temp brake fluid and cooling it should be more consistent afterwards. Nonetheless good pad for te money ... As any race pad it will emit a lot of dust and chew up rotors .Helpful (5)

Very nice. No fade on track.
Awesome! I have these installed with the Ford Racing brake kit on a 2012 V6. I can stop on a dime, check to see what year it is, replace it with two nickels and still have time to check my mirrors going into a corner on track. Seriously, no fade in sessions lasting over 30 minutes on a highly technical course requiring heavy duty brakes (Calabogie Motorsports, Ontario, Canada). Highly recommended.Helpful (6)

Really Loud Pads!!!
Stop the pony good only side effect is these are really really loud brake pads. Just be aware they made really bad screaming sound when you just tap the brake. Makes you think something is wrong with your brakes. I resurface the rotors to make sure they are smooth. But these brakes make horrible noise unless you step on it really hard. There must be some performance brake pads out there doesn't make horrible noise like these pads. But stopping power is good. Better than stock brembo.Helpful (6)

Awesome Brembo replacements
They fit perfectly and only took an hour to replace all 4 front pads. They are also a lot less dusty than the stock brembo pads, I already clean the car every weekend but now it's easy on the rims.Helpful (5)

Works as advertised
Pads are great for the track but as mentioned not to be used for daily driving. They create a lot of dust and squeal pretty badly when warmed up but not at track temp. But...they work great at the track. So much that instead of my pads fading, I now boil my brake fluid instead. Time to get that factory fluid out of there. Good bite, good stopping power and not much fade at all.Helpful (5)

Great Brakes for Brembo's
I installed these easily in my 2011 Brembo Package mustang. Install was easy and strait forward. I also installed the rear pads at the same time. After bedding the brakes as Hawk described they worked great. When cold (everyday Driving) they work great and do not make much noise. When you get them hot, after some heavy braking they stop your car like your dropping an anchor. They do make a lot of brake dust, but that is expected. I bought these pads for an HPDE event but I have not done the event yet so I cannot comment on how well they work for that. I gave them 4 stars on Bang for Buck because they are more expensive than stock pads. Great PadsHelpful (4)
