Hey, I'm Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and this is my complete breakdown and dyno test of the KNN Series 63 air charger intake, available for your 11'-14' Coyote powered GT. KNN is without a doubt one of the largest names in the automotive after market industry, and for good reason. They pretty much invented the modern day cotton reusable air filter back in the 60s, and have been innovating the market ever since. Now, if you guys want to check out more stuff from KNN for your Mustang, and you're not already watching this video on our site, well then just click the link below to head back to AmericanMuscle.com.Now, right off the bat, I can tell you that the KNN Series 63 intake is gonna be one of the more visually pleasing intakes available for your GT, just judging by this all black stealthy construction which looks very tough. Now my favorite part is definitely the carbon fiber intake cover here. Nothing too flashy, just a really tough looking intake, and it's gonna look even better under the hood. Now don't take my word for it, you can always check out some of the customers submitted images located on the product page. But of course looks aside, the main purpose of a cold air intake like the KNN here is to make power. Just how much power can you expect? Well, we're gonna find out in a minute, but first let's break down some of the finer details. The KNN is a no tune required intake, thanks to the size of the map housing, which does give you the luxury of running the Series 63 either with or without an aftermarket custom tune, and still pick up some power. Now the intake does include the molded plastic intake tube itself, the plastic air-box here, that rather attractive carbon fiber cover I mentioned a little earlier, which you can run with or without the intake, the oiled high flow filter, and then finally all the couplers and hardware needed for the installation.Speaking of the installation, getting the KNN bolted up to your Coyote is a very straight forward task that should take you no more than an hour in the driveway using basic hand tools. Now of course we always try to include detailed instructions on the product page in addition to the manufacturers included installation instructions. But by now guys, you should know the deal. You should get a little jammed up, do not hesitate to reach out to our award winning team of Mustang experts. They're always standing by, ready to help a fellow Mustang owner in need.We already grabbed our base line run using our 6-speed GT behind me, so now with the KNN installed, it's time to get down to business. Now even though this intake is a no tune required intake, we're still gonna take this opportunity to upload the custom Bama V2 tune, to really maximize our gains. In addition to optimizing out cam and spark timing, the tune is also gonna make adjustments to our rev and speed limiters, our drive by wire calibrations, and ultimately perfect those air / fuel ratios to maximize our power. So with everything installed, let's see how the KNN performs. Our baseline run using our manual 2012 GT gave us 370 horse power, and 357 pound feet of torque at the rear wheels. With a KNN Bama combination, the car is now making 380 horse power, and 362 pound feet of torque, giving us a peak gain of 10 horse power over those base line numbers, and gains of as much as 10 horse power, and 5 pound feet of torque throughout the curve. The KNN Series 63 intake is one of those intakes that will perform great and look good while doing so. With a name like KNN, you know the quality will go unquestioned. So if you want to check out a KNN intake for your ride, be sure to find it right here at AmericanMuscle.com.
