    Street Or Strip. The McLeod RST Twin Disc Clutch is perfect for aggressive street driving and occasional drag strip use. Able to hold up to 800hp the RST Twin Disc Clutch kit is ideal for extreme horsepower Mustangs that need a good reliable street clutch.

    Twin Organic Discs. Featuring organic faced twin sprung hub friction discs; this RST Clutch will provide smooth engagement with a soft pedal effort and excellent release characteristics, making this a very driver friendly clutch suitable for all street performance enthusiasts.

    Application. This McLeod RST Twin Disc Clutch Kit is designed for the Late 2001-2010 GT; 2003-2004 Cobra; 2001, 2008-2009 Bullitt; and 2003-2004 Mach 1 with the T-45, TR-3650, or T-56 transmission with a upgraded 26 spline input shaft.

    For cable equipped Mustangs Mcleods Adjustable Clutch Fork-Ball Stud (part# 16909) and Throw Out Bearing (part# 16100) are recommended.; Use of an aftermarket steel flywheel is highly recommended for maximum horsepower holding capacity.

    It's recommended that you add an SR Performance Braided Stainless Steel Hydraulic Clutch Line during your new clutch install. Stock plastic clutch lines can fail during aggressive driving. Stainless steel clutch lines help prevent gear lockout and provide superior clutch pedal feel, even under the toughest conditions.

    Technical Note. Because Ford made changes to the Mustang GT and Bullitt in mid year of 2001, be sure to check and see what kind of transmission type you have before ordering.

        This clutch kit will work with a 2008 GT with the T56 Magnum XL 6-speed manual, correct? I see that it fits the T56 from 03-04 Cobras, just want to be certain it will fit the XL as well.

        • Unfortunately, this Clutch will not fit the T56 Magnum XL. The XL requires its own special clutch, pressure plate, flywheel and so on. This is because the bell housing and internals are different.

        How do I know what spline clutch to get? 10 or 26?

        • The Late 01-10 GT, 99-04 Cobra and 03-04 Mach 1 models come with a 10 spline from the factory. Unless you have the upgraded 26 spline input shaft, we would recommend going with the 10 spline which can be found here:

        Will this fit the 03 GT with a tremec tko600 clutch?

        • The McLeod RST Twin Disc 800HP Clutch will not fit an 03 GT with a Tremec TKO600 transmission.

        Will this clutch work with a 2008 Mustang GT that has had the transmission swapped to a Tremec TR6060 with a 26 spline shaft?

        • The TR-6060 came in the GT500 Mustangs. You are going to need a clutch that fits the GT500.

            This clutch makes a lot of noise ,I hope the noise goes away after the break in period,, I've put about 350 miles on it so for ,,getting no better ,,

            Clutch overall is good. Although, I personally did not notice the feeling of a “lighter clutch” as mentioned, and this clutch definitely does not like heat.

            Awesome clutch not on the cheap side but I’ve spent a lot on my car so I needed a clutch to hold bites hard not as stiff as you would think put in my t-56 to disconnected trans from bell housing not too bad to install

            McLeod RST Twin Disc

            So far so good. Upgraded to a blower and had to upgrade the clutch. This is handling my 540 rwtq 3000 rpm launches with ease. The clutch was extremely grabby during break in but now it shifts with ease. Pedal is very light as well.

            Hooks up hard.

            First off just wanted to say i had no fitment issues whatsoever in my 01 mustang with a tr3650 trans. everything just lines right up. That being said, after the break in period this clutch hooks up really well wile still retaining stock clutch pedal feel. i would highly recommend this clutch over a puck style single clutch of the similar hp rating.

            Best clutch for a higher HP car

            I race my cobra but also take it to shows and to work on nice days. I wasnt sure about how a twin disk would do in traffic but shockingly enough its the best clutch I've ever bought. The peddle is lighter then I expected and it grips like no other. Defiantly recommend to any terminator or high hp mustang owner!

            Third Time's The Charm

            I own a 2006 Kenne Bell Supercharged Mustang GT putting down close to 500 rwhp. The factory clutch was no match for the power, so I originally installed a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch that only lasted about 5Kmiles before slipping and wearing out. I replaced this with a SPEC Twin Disc SS hoping that this would be the last clutch I would ever need. Unfortunately, the shop that installed it for me installed it incorrectly causing premature failure after about 6K miles of use and damaging my 10 spline input shaft as well. After reading reviews and getting advice from several other owners who also track their Mustangs, I finally decided to upgrade to a 26-spline input shaft and purchase the 26-spline McLeod Racing RST Twin Disc. The break-in period of 500 miles in normal stop and go traffic was excruciating to say the least as driving slowly is not in my nature. However, post break-in I must say that the pedal feel of this clutch is lighter than stock, it's much quieter than the SPEC, and it gabs like crazy. I was able to light up my Nitto's in the first three gears no problem. At this point, I believe I now have the best clutch on the market for my needs, plus it's rated at 800hp. So, there's plenty of room for more power down the line. I would definitely recommend this clutch to any Mustang owner running 550+ hp.

            Clutch kit came with everything needed. Fit perfect, definitely recommend for a dialy street driver. Real easy on the pedel and great grip.
