    Hey, guys, Stephanie with americanmuscle.com here with an overview and an install of this Mishimoto Cut and Clamp Resonator Delete H-Pipe available for 2015 and up GT Mustangs. In this video we're gonna be talking about a few things including the sound of this H-Pipe, materials and construction, and the install. I'll talk more about this later, but the install for this one is going to be a two out of three wrenches since you do need to cut. The Mishimoto H-Pipe is gonna be something that you should check out if you're looking for a mid-pipe for your S550 GT. This is an H-pipe, so this is gonna be for someone that's looking for that deeper hardy sound. This is a budget-friendly, full 304 stainless steel H-pipe to replace a factory resonator. Swapping out the resonator mid-pipe for a traditional style mid-pipe like this H-pipe is a fast and easy way to make a big change on your Mustang's exhaust without having to purchase an entirely new exhaust system. We all know that the factory resonator style mid-pipe is a heavy piece of exhaust, with that muffle sound and robs some power from the S550. A cut and clamp H-pipe like this one is gonna be much more free flowing which is gonna open up sound and volume in the exhaust even without changing the factory axle back or any other components of the exhaust. An H-pipe like this isn't going to eliminate the factory cut, and you're still gonna be small and legal, and pass emissions, and get the change in sound that I've talked about. This is that 304 stainless steel that I mentioned earlier. So, you can't get any better material-wise. Stainless steel has some upsides and some advantages over other materials like aluminized tubing. It's not gonna rust or corrode, and it's gonna have a nice long life. This H-pipe is also going to come with sleeve style exhaust clamps, so it's ready for the install. As far as sound, an H-pipe typically delivers more of a deeper tone than a louder raspier note when you compare it to an X-pipe, and an X is going to give you more volume. If you're looking for more of that high-volume, raspy exhaust tone, then you should stick with an X-pipe instead. On a scale of one to five with five being the loudest, I'm going to rate this H-pipe with the stock axle back as a two. If you want this to be louder, you need to pick up an aftermarket axle back. Another thing to mention here is that a great side effect of replacing that resonator with an H-pipe is dropping a good amount of weight. The factory resonator adds some pounds to the S550. So, by replacing it with a simple H-pipe, it's gonna be dropping about 25 pounds which is just another little plus. As far as price goes, you can expect to spend between $200 and $300 for the Mishimoto H-pipe. Now, there are other H-pipes that are available, and other brands, other materials, and at other price points if you wanna shop around for something else, but this is one of the more budget-friendly options, and it's stainless steel. As for the install, you do have some flexibility here. Like the name suggests, there will be some cutting involved, but it's nothing too difficult. You take your time, it's gonna take about two hours to complete, maybe less, and I'm going to call this a two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter but mainly just because the cutting that's involved. The H-pipe does come with those brand new clamps for the rear, and you reuse the factory front clamps, but you always have the option of clamping the front and welding in the rear of the pipe if you want, but that's up to you or your shop. A lot of people like welding in the rear better, but that's not something that you have to do. So wrapping things up here. This is a stainless steel resonator delete H-pipe that can work with either the factory axle back or an aftermarket one. It also keeps the factory cuts, and it's going to create some sound and volume from the GT.     Hi - I have an FRPP by Borla Touring (EC-type) system on my '16 Mustang GT which comes with a resonator. It's a bit quiet. Will the Mishimoto fit as a straight swap for the Borla resonator without additional modification?

    Will this work on a 2019 GT Coupe with Active Exhaust? I ordered a 2019 GT Coupe Premium last week and the description only list 15-18. I assume there is no difference but just wanted to be sure.

    I have a 2017 GT Premium with Performance Package. Recently installed the Ford Power Pack 2. Would I be able to tune this H Pipe with the Pro Cal tool that came with the Power Pack 2 and if so, would the Pro Cal recognize it and install the required tune or would I need to purchase/download the tune? Thanks in advance!

      Ease of install

      Very easy to install. Simply cut out resonator and clamps cover the space so pipe can be put right up and tightened. If you can cut a pipe and turn a wrench, then you can do this.

      Takes it to another level!!!!

      When I had a Roush supercharger and Roush Active exhaust installed, I got everything I could hope for.....except the really loud aspect! This H pipe took care of that. Paired with the active exhaust is the best of ALL worlds. I can pull back into neighborhood (or past that pesky police officer) in a nice quiet nearly stock sound and with the turn of a switch, the monster is unleashed. You will not be disappointed with this addition. Get it welded.

      Unlocked some horsepower.

      Had this installed with the Flowmaster American Thunder Super 44s on a 2018 Mustang GT performance pack stick shift. Aggressive exhaust note that rumbles and turns heads. Freed up a considerable amount of horsepower. Not sure how much but it is very noticeable. Sounds like a Mustang should.

      Clamps leak Exhaust Moisture

      Clamps are junk, leak normal exhaust condensation. If you like black spots in your garage get em. Sound is great.

      Does not fit the 18

      Had a local shop install this. Ran into a couple of snags. so the 18 has heat shields on the exhaust which make it impossible to attach the provided clamps. It does not go on squared up, had to bend the pipe a little bit to make it fit. Although it does look very good and sounds amazing with the stock exhaust. I would not buy again until they actually look at the new 18 GT

      Wow what a sound

      I mulled on which mid pipe to buy...X pipe or H pipe. So I went with the H pipe and it was the right choice. I paired the H pipe with roush axle back mufflers. What a wild growl it has now. The install took about an hour and a half. I did this with my son who was able to help me guide the entire system out. That seemed to be the easier way than trying to do it in car.

      Satisfying rumble

      I wanted a better exhaust flow and deeper rumble than stock on my 2017 GT without a large price tag. This H pipe did nicely. A local muffler shop installed it in 20 minutes. I kept the stock mufflers and the results were as promised in the American Muscle video. The Coyote will howl when I want.

      I just had this installed on my 17 gt. I already had the roush ab and this just topped it off. Really loud!!!! Well worth the money. Premium and high quality build. If you're thinking about adding this to your car I would highly recommend it. That's H pipe gave me the sound I was looking for.

      The beast awakens!

      No video on You Tube or anywhere else will do this product justice. Paired with Roush exhaust, this makes it LOUD! But it sounds what a Mustang should sound like! Has a nice low rumble at idle, no drone at highway speeds, overall great product!

      This one goes to 11.....

      Paired this H pipe with the Roush axle back kit to finish off the catback exhaust, and man does she road now. The axle back from Roush alone we a big diference in sound and volume, but still slightly muted with the resonator still sitting under there. Had the H pipe installed by a local shop, and afterwards the guy who installed it came in to hand the keys over with a huge smile on his face and laughing hysterically. And all he could say was "Yeah, you're gonna get noticed now..." The Hpipe definately amped the volume up a lot, and it does sound like the back end of the car is certainly breathing better even with a light Pugh on the gas, it growls. Obviously this kit is well made and quite a bit lighter as well, so that is a definately a plus. You can still drive it a bit and keep the volume down if you wanted...but why do that!?

      The review I wish was here while researching...

      I had a Roush axle-back and Roush X-pipe on my 2015 GTPP, and just couldn't get past the "raspiness", almost trumpet sounding notes at higher rpms. I expected the "crazy loud", but not the box of marbles "high tech" tones I was hearing... Swapped the Roush X-pipe out with this H-pipe, and although it's is far from night and day difference, I definitely prefer the sound of the H-pipe. Fit, materials, and quality are all excellent, as it feels very robust/heavy duty. Had to cut about 1.5" off the rear pipe to make it fit, (since Roush uses a flanged end, and this one is straight fit with a coupler), but not a big deal with a sawzall and metal blade. I would describe the difference in sound as slightly less raspy, but it still screams when you get on it. A little more rumble, but not a huge difference, and overall slightly quieter, but still wakes the neighbours! Overall I'd guess it's about 5 quieter and less raspy than the x-pipe, which is just enough difference to make me glad I changed it out.
