      Improve Overall Performance. A set of Motive Performance gears will wake up your Pony and get it moving faster off the line. Steeper gears are a great way to lower quarter mile times and improve responsiveness without sacrificing driveability. 3.73 gears is a great addition to daily driver, automatic transmission Mustangs, offering a superior combination of performance without sacrificing fuel economy.

      Superior Construction & Precision Fit. These Motive ring and pinon gears are CNC cut from high grade 8620 gear steel, and factory lapped for precision fit. Each set is hardness tested prior to leaving the factory to ensure the highest quality. Unlike other brands, Motive Gears do not have a reputation for "gear whine".

      Recommended Upgrade. Changing the rear axle gear ratio will throw off the calibration of your Mustangs speedometer, but a Ford Racing Speedometer Recalibration Tool is an inexpensive way to fix this issue.

      Application. This Motive Performance Plus 3.73 Ring and Pinion Gear set will fit all 2005 to 2010 V8 Mustangs including the GT, Bullitt and GT500 models. A master bearing kit is recommended by most installers, especially on high mileage vehicles, see drop down option above.

      Attention 2010 and newer Mustang Owners. Starting in 2010 Ford changed the inner rear gear pinion bearing in all 8.8" equipped Mustangs. Because of this you will require a new 8.8" rear gear pinion bearing (Ford part# 9L3Z-4630-A) for proper installation, please see drop down option above.

      Technical Note. Installation costs will vary, but a good rule of thumb is between $250 and $300. Be sure to work with a reliable shop that you trust for installations. You can also save money on your installation labor by having your Trac-Lok rebuilt at the same time as your gears are installed, see drop down option above.

        I found these gears to be smooth and quite compared to my old ford racing 373's, i mated these 373's with the ford racing differential upgrade and what a difference it has made

        great product

        I love these gears I would tell anyone who asked to get these for there car .The install was fairly easy just remember to buy a complete install kit and when doing the install keep parts that you use again marked and they go back to where they came from.

        Good bang for your buck

        I bought these gears about 3 years ago and they are very nice. there isnt gear whine like richmond as long as they are both shimmed correctly. you can def feel the get up and go vs the stockers. You will have to buy either a speed cal or new speedo gear if you have a mechanical speedo.

      gears I have a 2006 mustang GT with a few upgrades. Cai , X pipe, aero turbines welded on the back and I'm wanting more kick out of my pony so I'm thinking about purchasing some 4.10 rear gears but my friends have told me to get 3.73 rear gears so I wanna ask the professionals what's best and whats best and what's gonna give it more kick

      • You can't really go wrong with either choice to be totally honest! If your main goal is getting the best performance, I'd suggest going for the 4.10s. Compared to the 3.73s, they offer faster acceleration off the line, which will get you to the main goal of going fast, faster! Many people debate on 3.73 vs 4.10 due to the fuel economy loss on both, but with either ratio chosen, the drop in MPGs won't make a huge impact. For 2005+ Mustangs, we recommend 4.10s for both the manual and automatic transmissions as being your best option! As many say, don't fear the gear!! Hope this helps!
