- How to Install Wheels on Your 1979-2013 Mustang
Hey everyone Justin here with AmericanMuscle.com and I’m taking a look at a classic Mustang wheel design and by far our most popular wheel here at AmericanMuscle, I’m referring to these Bullitt wheels for all 99-04 Mustangs. Bullitt wheels have long been the favorite of many Mustang owners everywhere, from their classic 60s muscle car styling, in addition to the factory built Ford Bullitt Mustang in 01, then again in 08 and 09, it’s easy to see why these wheels are so popular on Mustangs of all ages. Our Bullitt wheels are available in 17” 18” and 19” diameters, and your choice of either gloss black, anthracite silver, matte black, or a chrome finish. The wheels are also available in either staggered or non staggered fitment, now a staggered fitment means that your rear wheels and tires are going to be slightly wider than your fronts, giving you that classic muscle car appearance, and that’s exactly what we’ve done on our 2000 V6 behind me. We have our gloss black 17x9’s on the front, and our gloss black 17x10 ½ ‘s on the rear, giving us that really aggressive stance. Now this will also help your traction as well, thanks to the fact that you get to run a big beefy tire out back to help you get that power down to the ground. The wheels are also available with a very cool deep dish option, now deep dish refers to the lip around the wheel itself, as you can see the face of the wheel is set further back into the rim, giving you that really nice lip that’s sure to get you noticed. If you want to check out what some of the other finishes might look like on your ride, then you’ll want to check out our 98 GT back there on the lift that’s sporting the chrome finish, or our 2000 GT back there on our dyno jet, sporting the anthracite silver look. Now whatever finish you decide to go with, rest assured that we have your back, with a 1 year warranty on our finishes, and a lifetime structural warranty on all wheels. Of course you can purchase these wheels individually if you like, however the smart move would be to take advantage of one of our pre built tire and wheel combinations. This pairs your new Bullitt wheels up with some of the top performing tires on the market today, in sizes that are guaranteed to fit your ride without rubbing, even if you’re lowered an inch or two. You also get to take advantage of our free mounting and balancing, optional nitrogen fill, and as always free shipping and handling. Installing a new set of wheels is something any backyard mechanic should be able to tackle, all you need to do is simply crack your lugs loose first, then jack up the car and swap the wheels, start to finish should take you about an hour using standard hand tools and a floor jack. So if you want to evoke that classic muscle car styling on your modern day ride, then these Bullitt wheels from AmericanMuscle will give you an aggressive look that’s sure to never go out of style.

What is TPMS? The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS for short) is a factory installed safety feature on all 2007 and newer Ford Mustangs that alerts you when your tire pressure drops to an unsafe limit.
How do I keep my TPMS feature? Aftermarket wheels do not come with TPMS sensors. However, if you select 'Add TPMS Sensor Kit' and your specific year range from the options listed above, we'll install the TPMS Sensors in your new wheels!

Decent for the price
Got a staggered set and paired them with some Nitto Invo's and they look great. I was a tire tech at the time so I installed them myself. Only issue I have is after a little over the year mark and past the warranty, the 2 rear rims started to peal the black finish. So far only on the inside of the rim past the spokes so not noticable.Helpful (6)
Is it possible to get replacement rivets for these wheels? I've already had one come out within 2 weeks of mounting these wheels on the car.
Hello! Unfortunately, the rivets are not available separately. However, if you give us a call or send us an email we may be able to help you out. You can contact us here: http://www.americanmuscle.com/contact.html
Highway driving vs around town How does the Staggered setup compare with your Normal setup when driving on Highways at speeds of 60 to 80 mph?
The rear will have less side to side sway feeling benefiting from wider stance and grip, but also produces a little more under steer, especially with factory suspension. All in all it’s really difficult to pen point an explanation without standard vs. custom suspension specs you’re currently running or planning to run in the future. Factory suspension will develop a more noticeable difference and may require minor driving habit adjustment compared to higher performance suspensions with lower degree of flex and stiffer reaction limiting body rollout. Normal daily driving conditions will basically feel the same as traditional even size tires on all four corners until aggressive behavior dominates. Staggered offers it’s best during green light takeoff grip and under steer results will increase within reasonable levels based on power to the ground output and it’s easily compensated within 1” variation. However some drivers like under steer driving habits and some prefer over steer and most have the ability to adjust to both.
Does these wheel's ever fade
Are these three piece rims they look to be in the pictures
These wheels are accurately depicted in the photos but they are a one-piece and the rivets are purely cosmetic.
What size center cap does this wheel take?
Our AM center caps will work with the wheel. They are 2.5" in diameter.
Yes these will fit your 2003 GT. The speedometer will be affected, and will have to be corrected.
Unfortunately, these wheels are not designed to be used with a '90 Mustang with the 5 lug conversion and will not be compatible.
I apologize, the widest option we offer on this wheel would be 10".
This kit only comes with 275's and 285's, however you can break up this kit and order each item individually if you were looking to go that route.
It would honestly depend on how much the drop is. As long as it does not exceed 1.5 inches, the 18x9 should fit in the front without any issues.
This staggered wheel and tire kit will fit your 2003 Mach 1 without any modifications. There would be no issues using factory lug nuts however your center cap may not have good fitment because of the depth of the retaining ring. The wheels would come with their own center caps, though.
This wheel will fit on a lowered Mustang up to a 2" drop. We would recommend a low profile tire with a lowered mustang and these wheels in the rear to prevent any rubbing.
The Staggered Bullitt Motorsport Black Wheel & Sumitomo Tire Kit will have a +24mm offset.
We guarantee fitment on our wheel and tire kits up to a 2 inch drop.
The center caps will measure 2-1/2" in diameter on these wheels.
Simple installation for anyone.
