    Ask a Question

I have the same question, after installing this pan, I'm showing about a quart low on the dipstick after filling with 5qts. Does this pan add an extra quart of capacity over stock?

    • The OPR Replacement Oil Pan w/ Low Oil Sensor Port is a direct replacement oil pan for the 84-95 5.0L. It has a 5-quart capacity and will not require any more or less oil.

It would appear that some one used this pan on a 5.0 motor I know came out of a 1982 Mustang. It has the sensor port with a plug in it. My questions is: The capacity charts for that motor says 4 quarts (5 quarts with oil filter change). Is this pan the same, or is it 5 qts capacity - 6 with filter change? Thanks for any info.

    Shawn

    • The OPR Replacement Oil Pan w/ Low Oil Sensor Port is designed for the 1984-1995 5.0 models only which will have a stock oil compacity of 5 quarts like this OE oil pan.

Best Pan for girdle, pump, and stroker

There are several reasons for it being the best. One it fits within the confines of a tight chassis with an aftermarket Kmember. It also had enough room to install a Moroso (Canton copy) girdle and clearance was perfect. Then I used a Melling Oil pump (standard flow, high flow is unnecessary) and stock pickup tube modified a bit to all fit into a nice package for my 347 stroker. This pan is affordable and buttoned up the bottom of my engine without a hiccup. It includes a plug bolt for the low oil sender, this is extra cost on other pans from other sellers. Best Pan on the market. Period.

      Oil pan doesn't fit!

Oil pan hits oil pump bolts in the front corner sump area. After tightening bolts, oil pump push through pan putting hole in pan. These aftermarket pans are not made in USA and don't fit. I had another Ford pan on there I bought several years ago with low oil sensor and had no issues Kenny G.

      Replacement I didn't need.

Let me start by saying I ended up not needing it for my 89 Mustang GT. My valve cover gaskets were what was leaking. But this product was very sturdy and lovey out of the box. Thankfully my brother-in-law needed it for is 92 Mustang GT. It's a great fit and good for anyone who needs to replace an old dusty cracked oil pan.
