Review & Install Video

Hey, what's up everybody? Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, here with my quick breakdown and sound clips of the Pypes Off Road X-Pipe fitting your 2011 through 2014 Mustang GT. Switching out the mid-pipe on your Coyote powered S197 is a great way to pick up some decent power and can totally transform the way your exhaust sounds. Now, when picking the right mid-pipe for your application, you're going to encounter two different options, H or X-Pipe and Catted or Off Road. This particular mid-pipe I have with me here from Pypes is their Off Road X-Pipe configuration which does not have Catalytic Converters and therefore, will give you the biggest power gains. Now the X-Pipe configuration will also give you more top end gains and give your car an aggressive, raspy tone compared to an H-pipe which will typically give you that low end muscle car rumble. The X-Pipe is constructed using durable 304 grade stainless steel throughout. It's 3" in diameter, does include all the hardware, and, of course, the secondary O2 bungs have already been pre-welded for you. Now this X-Pipe will bolt up to your factory manifolds or even after market shorty headers without issue, in addition to being able to be used with any after market Catback system or even your factory over axle pipes. As for the install, well keep in mind you most of your work, of course, will be done underneath a car here with the exception of the passenger side bolt which will need to be accessed from the engine base. So just make sure you have a couple of long extensions ready to go to crack those bolts. Either way, figure about a couple of hours start to finish, just to give you an idea of what to expect. So if you guys are in the market for an affordable Off Road X-Pipe for your 2011 to 2014 Coyote powered GT, be sure and check out the Pypes Off Road X-Pipe here at AmericanMuscle.com

Improves Exhaust Flow. Remove those power robbing factory catalytic converters and release hidden power with a Pypes Off-road X-Pipe. This Pypes off-road x-pipe creates more power and torque than a traditional H-Pipe by merging the exiting exhaust pulses at the "X" which results in less exhaust back pressure for more power.

Race Car Growl. This free flowing Pypes X-Pipe for the 2011-2014 GT Mustang's not only increases power, but it also adds a loud raspy, race car growl to the sound of your exhaust with its modern "X" crossover pipe design.

Quality Construction. Pypes constructs their Mid Pipes from 3" diameter free-flowing mandrel bent 16 gauge 304 stainless steel tubing, that features a merged X crossover to increase exhaust flow for a significant improvement in power and sound.

Application. This Pypes Off-Road X-Pipe is designed to be a direct bolt-on for the 2011-2014 5.0L V8 GT Mustangs with either aftermarket shorty headers or the factory manifolds installed. Intended for off-road track use only.

          Xpipe is perfect

Matched this up with flowmaster outlaw axle back and it’s very loud. I love it. Does cause drone, thru city and highway but doesn’t bother me. Matched up perfectly. Doesn’t come with header gaskets. Hardest part was getting the old bolts off as mentioned.

took it to exhaust shop to get installed because it was a little too wide. Sounds amazing though.

          Open the coyote sound

I bought my car with the Roush axle back already with it. Yes I bought the car just because of the sound. I was looking to ge tmore power and have to change the stock middle pipe. OH MY GOD I love the sound. the combination with the roush axle back make the coyote engine yell like he need to be. Loud as I like, cold start are amazing show the car is totally not stock . My neiboird is not lik eme, but I do not care, it's only few second of a day, than I have a smile for the rest of the day with this setup. Be careful, the stock bolt on the CAT, are extremely hard to unbolt. I suggest to go on a muffler shop to install it, or with a lift, and torsh.

Gives my car that “race car” sound, considering it’s still mostly stock.

          Sounds of the pOny

After battling tough rusted bolts, then eliminating my catalytic converters, swapping on the pypes cat deletes and their X-pipe has got this 5.0 talkin noise! The check engine came on two days later and will remain on until I upgrade my Headers and CAI followed with a custom tune.

          Pypes exhaust

Installation is quick, does not come with exhaust gaskets!! I teamed it up with mbrp muffler deletes and its ungodly loud, I suggest a set of decent mufflers, only down side, it hangs really low, otherwise satisfied with the product

          Pypes O/R XPipe

Awesome product and amazing sound difference. This xpipe really wakes up the coyote engine. Faster throttle response and better acceleration throughout the RPM range. Straightforward install. Just make sure to have plenty of PB Blaster handy and completely soak the bolts on the headers. Once they're off its smooth sailing from there. If you dont like your exhaust note loud then beware. Slight drone increase as well. Overall I have stock headers, Pypes O/R xpipe, and Pypes Super Bomb full axle-back exhaust with resonators. It makes my 2012 Mustang Gt sound "Angry"!!!

          Great price for the product.

Fitment was great had no issues at all. The only part id say is complicated is getting the nuts off of the factory mid pipe. The welds looked great and all around quality is nice. Really made the car sound great.

Item arrived as promised in 3 days which was awesome. Gave it an afternoon install rating only because removing the old catalytic converters was difficult. Overall it’s amazing quality and sound.

          Pypes Performance Exhaust X-pipe

Product arrived as scheduled time and was very easy to receive. Had to take part to another shop with the necessary tools for install, but it was pretty awesome after it got installed. The persons who worked on it, loved it and said it’s crazy. Thanks to AM for the part! I love the new sound.

          Great product!

This X-Pipe is amazing for the price! And sounds so great with my Roush Axel Back. Little install time and have to adjust it a little bit to line up. But other than that it’s great! I’d 10/10 do it again. Props to the Pypes team for this one.

          Pypes review

The quality seemed to be very good for the price, the install took five minutes. However the stock midpipe was a pain to get off the car. This x pipe will definitely make your exhaust note more raspy than an H pipe setup. The idle is louder now as well.

          She’s a screamer!

Off road x pipe shipped all the way to Washington state in 3 days which was unexpected but nice. Fit perfect after a few adjustments like with all exhaust systems. And the finish was actually pretty quality, I didn’t really know what to expect with the weld but looking at it first impression was that they were actually pretty solid. The sound is amazing! Super loud when I want it to be but on a cold start it’s actually like it’s almost a little quieter. Paired up with Flowmaster outlaws makes my mustang one of the baddest on the road. Overall super impressed and if you want to pick up some good power and great sound this is for you!
