    Review & Install Video

Hi everyone I’m Justin from AmericanMuscle.com, and I’m checking out Pypes performance pype bomb series axle back exhaust for your 2011 and up Mustang GT. Pype bomb is a very fitting name given the aggressive tone this axle back gives you, that is due to the fact that this kit uses muffler deleting resonator tips. The kit is constructed from durable 304 grade stainless and features 4 inch fully polished tips, which allow for superior looks and corrosion resistance. Install is very simple and should only take you about an hour using standard hand tools. Let’s hear how the pype bombs compare to your factory exhaust.

Aggressive Sound. Give your 2011-2014 GT the aggressive sound that will get it noticed on the street or at the strip with a Pypes "Pype Bomb" axle-back. This muffler delete style axleback provides the most aggressive, free-flowing exhaust possible with your factory cats still in place - delivering more power you can feel and hear.

Resonator Tips. The engineers at Pypes designed their new muffler delete exhaust system with specially engineered resonator tips that eliminate that loud annoying popping noise that other muffler delete kits can cause.

Polished 304 Stainless. Unlike even some more expensive exhausts, this system features a fully polished finish for superior looks and corrosion resistance. And with its 304 stainless steel construction, this system will last just as long as those costing many times more.

Application. This Pype-Bomb Axle-Back exhaust system is designed to fit 2011-2014 Mustang GT for show quality looks and impressive sound. This axle-back is made to be a direct bolt on to the stock location without any modifications required.

Power increase? Will these muffler deletes provide a noticeable gain in HP? If so, would it be more or less than a muffler delete without resonators?

    TheRidge

    • I purchased the Black ones that just came out, OMG the sound a lone is good enough for me but I have to say yes there is a power gain, a lot less restrictive and a lot less weight on your rear-end of the Stang, the LOOK is great as well.

factory clamps? Do these come with clamps or do you use the factory clamps?

    blackstang03

    • You are able to use the factory clamps. You can use a cutting tool like a dremel or angle grinder. I just moved them around back and forth and the clamp came free from the factory muffler.

i was gonna be these for my 2010 mustang gt and i wanted to know if these deliver more power to my mustang i also have a bigger body throttle if they makes any difference to the sound and power to it

    Mustanglover916

    • Certainly by opening up the exhaust, you'll get more power. Don't know if it will be power you can feel right away, but it most assuredly give you a more aggressive sound.

      Very aggressive

I have a resonator delete and these. Coming from Borla S-Types, they are far more aggressive and loud so keep that in mind. With my resonator delete, there was a lot of drone which is the only downside so I added some boommats to help. Would recommend for the price, they sound great! Install took about an hour and a half with a friend and some jack stands. Would HIGHLY recommend you get a friend help. Makes it a lot easier wiggling the exhausts in and out.

      Sound is Great, some annoyances.

I really love the way they sound. I put them on my 2014 Mustang v6 and it made a huge difference. However, since I live in an apartment, I paid someone to do it. Like some other users, they fit horrendously when put on. The driver’s side was touching the bumper and made an awful rattling noise. I took my car back to the shop, and they cut and re-welded the hangers for them to fit better. They then welded the exhausts themselves in. They look much better. They do have a pretty bad drone for the first hundred miles or so (especially if you don’t tune it), but after they’re broken in, they sound amazing. Not quite a V8, but definitely more aggressive than a V6. Overall, I’m very pleased!

      2011 Mustang Cali Special

These sound great, but the fitment is the worst. I would send them back but the local exhaust shop re-did the hangers and welded them so piping can fit and it still doesn’t. Drivers side sticks out a lot more then the passenger side. Wouldn’t buy pypes product unless there is an actual instal video made buy them. Not Happy with the exhaust leak I’m gonna have to deal with until I get another different set of axle-back.

      Good sound

The only issue i had with these is the passenger side pype by the rear diff wasnt lining up right with the axle back. So i had to hold them in place while my friend welded them together. Other than the they sound pretty good. No drone

      Decent

Sounds great, but the drivers side exhaust tip sticks out maybe an inch further then the passenger side. You notice it when you actually look at them. Took my car to an exhaust shop to see what they could do and said they'd have to cut it and reweld it. I paid around $300 for an exhaust. I am not paying to have someone cut and reweld them. Drone is pretty obnoxious

They sound great. If I could keep the volume, and tone I'd absolutely love them. But I do a lot of long trips in my car. The drone gets really annoying.

      Too much drone

A little disappointed with this product. I would rank the quality as less than expected. Does not include the clamps like other axle backs do. But most discouraging is the unbearable drone at highway speeds. Lasted two days before a spent the money and order the Roush axle backs. Very pleased with Roush. Loud when I want it to be and slightly more drone than stock on the highway. If you are looking for an aggressive sound but still bearable on the highway I recommend opting for the Roush axle backs.

I cant believe how good they sound. They did require a little adjustments to make them fit right. Still a great product. I would recommend getting new exhaust clamps.

Save yourself the time and just take it to a shop where they can weld it after they figure out it won't fit.

I like the sound outside the car. Its aggressive. But it has a heavy drone sound inside when cruising. It hurts the ears.

      Great sound

I give these a 5 on the sound and a 3 for the build. Took a little more than expected to get them on and they almost don't seem to line up. Took about an hour and a half to finalize everything. In the end though, we got them on and they were worth it.

      Oh yeah!

Put these on my 2011 GT last saturday. First side took about an hour and a half. Once I figured out what to do the orher side took about 20 to 30 minutes. The sound bites on here do not do it justice. Good deep old fashion muscle car sound. They are loud but not unbearable. Drone at highway speed is not much worse than the stock mufflers and sounds good. Even my wife said it sounded good and she is not into cars that much.

Folks, No Fitment issues as I have read many times over. I WOULD strongly suggest that you loosen the mid-pipe collar on both factory pipes. ( I can see where the PYPES may not line up exactly where you want if you do not do this) With them loose, you can set the tips in the opening and tighten from the PYPES back. I personally tightened everything "SNUG", so that I could move them around and they would stay put. when the "final" position was attained, I fully tightened. I would suggest a car lift as well. Or at the very least have the car safely in the air on jack stands. It took me about 1.5 hours on a car lift as I am particular about them being perfectly centered and symmetric.
