Hi everyone I’m Justin from AmericanMuscle.com, and I’m checking out Pypes performance pype bomb series axle back exhaust for your 2011 and up Mustang GT. Pype bomb is a very fitting name given the aggressive tone this axle back gives you, that is due to the fact that this kit uses muffler deleting resonator tips. The kit is constructed from durable 304 grade stainless and features 4 inch fully polished tips, which allow for superior looks and corrosion resistance. Install is very simple and should only take you about an hour using standard hand tools. Let’s hear how the pype bombs compare to your factory exhaust.

These pipes sound great! Got a set on my 2005 GT and now a set on my 2011 GT, it's a great way for the neighbors to know when you're leaving or getting home. Excellent sound and made from stainless steel so they last forever.Helpful (0)

Came with the car
So honestly wish they had given these a noise rating to compare with something like roush or the corsa or even the outlaws there not that loud and the tone is just not a good tone the 5.0 is capable of so much better the only part of this system that’s loud is the DRONE do not recommendHelpful (0)

I was a little skeptical at first, but once I got it and installed it, it was a complete night and day difference from stock mufflers. No one would ever notice me driving my car until now! Everyone stops to look! Its hilarious! There is a but of drone on the highway but that is to be expected.Helpful (1)

So I debated on what axle back I wanted and watched hundreds of reviews and sound clips. I finally settled on the Pype’s Pype Bomb. Easy to install. Great sound! Enough to scare my daughter! (She loves the car) and now she makes me ride with the windows down!Helpful (0)

They sound great and I love the deep tone. Not raspy and annoying like most kits I’ve found. But. The fitment was horrible on my 2012. When using the hangers the muffler pipe and pipe on car were and inch off. When attaching to the pipe then putting the hangers on the mufflers went to the side and were touching the bumper. I had to cut off and reweld the hangers to get proper fitment. If you don’t mind the extra work they are worth it.Helpful (2)

Sounds amazing but ran into a problem
The look and sound are great but I had to reinstall the axle back 2X trying to figure what it was. First try was the exhaust hanger was hitting the exhaust hanger bracket, that kinda helped but still hearing rattles so I took of the axle back all the way to the mid pipe where the h pipe is and reinstalled still some little rattle, as of that it sounds good but when you accelerate slowly you can hear the rattle from the trunk.Helpful (3)

Great growl sound!
Has the sound that the 2011 should have. Very easy to install.Helpful (4)
Power increase? Will these muffler deletes provide a noticeable gain in HP? If so, would it be more or less than a muffler delete without resonators?
I purchased the Black ones that just came out, OMG the sound a lone is good enough for me but I have to say yes there is a power gain, a lot less restrictive and a lot less weight on your rear-end of the Stang, the LOOK is great as well.
factory clamps? Do these come with clamps or do you use the factory clamps?
You are able to use the factory clamps. You can use a cutting tool like a dremel or angle grinder. I just moved them around back and forth and the clamp came free from the factory muffler.
Why are people having so many problems with fitment? Is there a quality control issue?
When it comes to Pypes, installation requires a bit more elbow grease than most other brands. It certainly should have any fitment issues in terms of not fitting, however it's not uncommon for a Pypes system to not fit like a glove, so to speak.
will this Axel-back go well with an h-pipe or and off road h-pipe not really fan of the x-pipe sound so I'm just curious before purchasing
Yes, this axle-back will essentially work with any mid-pipe as it attaches to the intermediate/resonator pipes and not directly to the mid-pipe itself.
Does it easily fit with MMD by FOOSE Rear Valance Diffuser? Or it requires its to fit it together
Yes, this Pypes Pype-Bomb Axle-Back Exhaust Will fit with the MMD by FOOSE Rear Valance Diffuser (item #387427) for 13-14 GT Mustangs.
This exhaust will be able to fit the 2012 Boss 302 Mustang.
For your 2014 V6, you will need the Pypes Pype-Bomb Axle-Back Exhaust (11-14 V6), item # 386491, (http://www.americanmuscle.com/pypes-pype-bomb-1113v6.html).
Certainly by opening up the exhaust, you'll get more power. Don't know if it will be power you can feel right away, but it most assuredly give you a more aggressive sound.
did nothing to my pony, took off the factory mufflers and put on the pypes pipes and had to change nothing
Unfortunately, the tubing size is different between the GT and V6. The GT axle-backs will not fit properly on your V6. Please check out the link below and select 2011-2012 V6 tab at the top for all the axle-back kits designed for your Mustang: http://www.americanmuscle.com/2010-mustang-axleback-exhaust.html Hope this helps!
DNovick, Yes, they are compatible! A direct bolt on and easy install; given you have a few hand tools. The passenger side is a little harder due to the clearance above the stock muffler, but overall a very straight forward install on my 2013 GT premium track pack! You may want to keep your stock mufflers for down the road or sell them, not sure what they would be worth. Check out my video review of the TSW nurburgring wheels and you can here the Pypes pype bomb axle back in action on a dyno go from idle up to 6500.
I believe the resinator increases backpressure some, but it keeps the exhaust from popping as much. I have this exact part on my 2012 5.0 and noticed an increase in volume, and a good deep rumble. It is not overly loud unless you are at full throttle at high RPM. I am pleased with mine, as it adds a unique sound compared to other mustang exhausts. Here is a clip I have posted on youtube... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqtvPKpc_-8
I don't believe the V-6 mustang comes with 2.75" exhaust. You would first need 2.75" cat-back to the over axle pipes, instead of 2.5". These axle backs are made to mate up a 3" pipe to a 2.75" pipe.
