    Review & Install Video

Hey everybody, I'm Justin with AmericanMuscle.com and this is my quick breakdown of the Pypes Black Pype-Bomb Axle-Back Exhaust System available for your 3.7 liter 2011 through 2014 V6 Mustang. If you guys are looking for quite possibly one of the most aggressive Axle-Backs available for your 3.7 at a very affordable price, well then, the Black Pype-Bomb here should be at the top of your list. Now, as you guys just heard with our sound clips, this particular Axle-Back will totally transform your V6 in a way you never thought possible, especially with those stock cats in place. Taking a closer look at some of the details here with this Axle-Back, you will notice it's all been powder coated this very aggressive black color which, of course, will definitely give you a very unique look, but also it's going to help resist any possible corrosion down the road. Now, the entire system has been constructed from 100% stainless steel and what little piping there is with this Axle-Back has all been mandrel bent. The signature feature with any Pype-Bomb system here whether it's for your GT or your V6 has to be these absolutely massive four inch tips which do take the place of your mufflers, of course, and do give you the super aggressive tone we heard in the beginning of this video. Now, this is the time guys that I strongly encourage you to head back to the product page of AmericanMuscle.com so you can check out some of the detailed customer images, but more importantly, some of the detailed customer reviews to help you decide if this is the Axle-Back for you. Since this is an Axle-Back, guys, figure about an hour from start to finish on your V6 to get everything in place. Now, Axle-Backs on these cars are generally pretty straightforward and can easily be accomplished with the use of some basic hand tools. But, as always, guys, if you do have any more questions about this exhaust or about the actual install, feel free to hit up a Mustang expert any time. So if you are looking for one of the more aggressive systems available for your 3.7 V6 Mustang, then be sure to check out the Pypes Black Pype-Bomb Axle-Back Exhaust System here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Aggressive Sound. Give your V6 Pony the aggressive sound that will get it noticed on the street or at the strip with a Pypes "Pype Bomb" axle-back. This muffler delete style axleback provides the most aggressive, free-flowing exhaust possible with your factory cats still in place - delivering more power you can feel and hear.

Resonator Tips. The engineers at Pypes designed their new muffler delete exhaust system with specially engineered 4" resonator tips that eliminate that loud annoying popping noise that other muffler delete kits can cause.

Quality Materials. Constructed from free flowing mandrel-bent 2.5" 304 stainless steel tubing, this Pypes "Pype-Bomb" axle-back exhaust features a pair of 4" resonator tips completed in a black powdercoated finish for aggressive good looks.

Application. This Pype-Bomb Axle-Back exhaust system is designed to fit 2011-2014 V6 Mustangs for show quality looks and impressive sound. This axle-back is made to be a direct bolt on to the stock location without any modifications required.

Power Increase Do you expect power/torque increase on this exhaust, if does how much? I want something that I can use for daily driving, is this exhaust obnoxiously loud that my neighbour would hate me (if envy I would just giggle in silence, but annoyance I would certainly think about it). I had an airaid CAI already and this exhaust would be my next project, so I appreciate any input so I would save regret later on.....Thanks...:))

    • I just installed these myself, while I don't have a dyno you should see about 10hp difference, as far as sound, prepare to be stared at,this thing sounds mean

I have a 2011 V6 convertible, and I took it to a local exhaust shop. He removed the xpipe and resonators and it now produces a tinnier sound. Will this a) be legal in NH if I buy the pypes bomb and b) will this create a deeper rather than much louder sound? Has anyone else here installed this on v6 convertible?

    EricG

    • As far as sound and tone go, the Pypes Black Pype-Bomb Axle-Back Exhaust will give you more of a deeper growling sound. It will be a bit louder but certainly a deeper tone, so if that is what you are looking for I would certainly recommend this axle back. As far a legality measures go, I would check with your local authorities to verify if there are any sound ordinances to be aware of so you do no receive some kind of ticket or fine running this exhaust on your mustang.

I see a lot of people say in the reviews that it doesn't line up properly. What is the fix for that?

    NGglobal

    • Our recommendation is to have some play in the exhaust system that give you the room to move the rubber hangers into their location, then torque the exhaust system on all hangers are installed. If not you have to fight the entire exhaust to install on hangers.

Are these legal in California and will they pass the smog test?

    Jordan

    • The Pypes Black Pype-Bomb Axle-Back Exhaust is installed after any of the emissions equipment, so this will have no effect on smog testing. These are considered a 50 state legal part, however depending on your other modifications, it is possible to have these produce more exhaust volume than your area allows.

      Angry Horse

It's been said many times, but this setup is LOUD. But it's extremely pleasing if that's what you're going for. After driving a little over 1000 miles with these on, I'm now used to the drone, but when I was leaving the shop the noise was deafening to me, lol. Be prepared for LOTS of noise if you're giving it gas.

      Great axle-back

Honestly for the price it's a really good product. Drone is sometimes annoying when you just want to drive with the boo, but otherwise who cares things loud!

      Tune free performance

2104 V6 auto convertible decided I needed performance boost, nothing interesting in the chip programmers. A bit of studying told me that the built in engine management system would support fairly wide range of tuning efforts. Based on the stock car losing "steam" as it accelerated I figured the place to start was "in" and "out" of the engine; i.e., a cold air intake and a better flowing exhaust. So I bought the Pypes Pype-Bomb axle backs and the JLT CAI seemed to be the ticket as the were rated as good flowing and described as not needed a retune....that is to say the Ford electronics would adapt. Both items shipped promptly, were adequately packaged and were complete. Install was not difficult, after assessing the prospect of doing the exhaust on jack stands in the driveway I jobbed that install to my regular mechanic. The CAI took about 30 minutes start to finish. At first the Pype-bombs were annoying, loud and hollow sounding, as the car accelerated I got the feeling that the flow of exhaust was not what it could (and would) be. The solution...a long road trip, in my case 2500 miles to and from meeting up with old friends. As the stock computer made its adjustments, gone are the hollow sounds, new are the scene are howling roars..that turn heads. Mileage is up, acceleration is faster, and the power band has a new top end to accompany the new exhaust sound

      Pypes Black Pype-Bomb Axle-Back Exhaust (11-14 V6)

Received the exhaust quick. Came with little to no scratches/imperfections. Took it to a local mechanic to install, he said he had no issues with alignment and it was only $50 to install. He has worked on mustangs before though. The exhaust really resonates in the lower RPMs and that's when it seems to be the loudest since it is so deep. Even my grandma liked the sound of this exhaust so it is not too loud and it gets quiet when you step off the gas. Would recommend as a starter exhaust to anyone that wants to make some extra noise without being obnoxious. You can still enjoy your music or talk to someone in the car also. Drone is a lot when you first start the car but gets tolerable when your driving, have some rattling from the exhaust only sometimes which is weird but hopefully it will go away when it breaks in.

      They’re perfect (kinda)

These things sound amazing! The shop had a little problem with installing them because one of the clamps snapped in half and the drivers side wasn’t aligning perfectly but it was all figured out. The sound is deep on low rpms and they really open up when you step on it. Love them!

Sound awesome but too much Drone

Hi guys .. this exhaust cool for those who keep thier car in garage. I'm a daily driver and i have a convertible and this is not perfect for me. So i just put for one day and change it and it's also didn't fit perfect. So overall it's a no for me as a daily driver. And i don't know it is allow here to tell or no but I bought RTR tactional (magnaflow) exhaust .. Sound is same and no drone at all.

      Loud For Sure

These are loud but don't sound too clean. The drone is pretty loud (my girl hates it). If you're looking for something easy and inexpensive this is a good buy. Not a pro type choice but an inexpensive alternative.

      Loud, very loud, but throaty

The exhaust note is exactly what I was looking for. At idle is give a deep throaty growl. At high RPM is a mean growl. The only drawback is between 2-3K RPM the droning is deafening. The whole car resonates. It already trained me to go WOT at 2K RPM to get over to 3K to avoid the discomfort.
