      Review & Installation Video

Hey everybody, I'm Justin with and this is my quick breakdown of the Pypes Black Pype-Bomb Axle-Back Exhaust System available for your 3.7 liter 2011 through 2014 V6 Mustang. If you guys are looking for quite possibly one of the most aggressive Axle-Backs available for your 3.7 at a very affordable price, well then, the Black Pype-Bomb here should be at the top of your list. Now, as you guys just heard with our sound clips, this particular Axle-Back will totally transform your V6 in a way you never thought possible, especially with those stock cats in place. Taking a closer look at some of the details here with this Axle-Back, you will notice it's all been powder coated this very aggressive black color which, of course, will definitely give you a very unique look, but also it's going to help resist any possible corrosion down the road. Now, the entire system has been constructed from 100% stainless steel and what little piping there is with this Axle-Back has all been mandrel bent. The signature feature with any Pype-Bomb system here whether it's for your GT or your V6 has to be these absolutely massive four inch tips which do take the place of your mufflers, of course, and do give you the super aggressive tone we heard in the beginning of this video. Now, this is the time guys that I strongly encourage you to head back to the product page of so you can check out some of the detailed customer images, but more importantly, some of the detailed customer reviews to help you decide if this is the Axle-Back for you. Since this is an Axle-Back, guys, figure about an hour from start to finish on your V6 to get everything in place. Now, Axle-Backs on these cars are generally pretty straightforward and can easily be accomplished with the use of some basic hand tools. But, as always, guys, if you do have any more questions about this exhaust or about the actual install, feel free to hit up a Mustang expert any time. So if you are looking for one of the more aggressive systems available for your 3.7 V6 Mustang, then be sure to check out the Pypes Black Pype-Bomb Axle-Back Exhaust System here at

        5 2012 V6 - Iklein0 Installation Time: Afternoon

        No Fitment Issues! Amazing sound.

Like everyone else, I bought this expecting there to be some issues with the driver's side aligning properly within the bumper cutout. Many have suggested to loosen the midpipe connection to the H-pipe, but my bolts were so rusted that I didn't attempt that at all. Installation was very easy, as long as you follow Pypes' instruction sheet. Make sure to use dish soap on the rubber hanger mounts for easier removal/installation. When I installed them for the first time, they were not aligned properly in the bumper cutouts, so I had a helper hold them in the correct position while i loosened and then tightened the bolts for the midpipe clamps. This worked great and they are now lined up perfectly. Installation took like 30 minutes, the hard part was removing the stock mufflers. PB blaster helped a lot and nothing was a major issue. The sound of these is amazing. It sounds much deeper than stock, and has a lot of pop and crackle without it being too loud. It really is the perfect volume; you get an aggressive sound without deafening your neighbors. There is a small amount of drone while maintaining 3k RPM, but it is not deafening and I actually like the sound. I cannot recommend the Pipe Bombs enough. They are well worth the money and now my v6 mustang sounds like a whole new car.

        3 2012 V6 - SethS Installation Time: Full Day

        Pretty Good

Overall, they're pretty good. Great exhaust note, decent HP increase. The only problem is that the driver side pipe did not fit the bumper cut out, even after a mid pipe rotation. Still, these things turned my V6 into a beast.

        Good, but annoying at times

They for sure improve the sound of my 2014 mustang but at high speeds/up hill, or randomly, the pipes make a annoying high pitched sound. I’ve had this product for about 3-4 months and it still annoys me. But overall it’s pretty good.

      5 Top Rated Questions

Power Increase Do you expect power/torque increase on this exhaust, if does how much? I want something that I can use for daily driving, is this exhaust obnoxiously loud that my neighbour would hate me (if envy I would just giggle in silence, but annoyance I would certainly think about it). I had an airaid CAI already and this exhaust would be my next project, so I appreciate any input so I would save regret later on.....Thanks...:))

      • I just installed these myself, while I don't have a dyno you should see about 10hp difference, as far as sound, prepare to be stared at,this thing sounds mean

How is the sound inside the cabin, Im looking for a soft tone inside the cabin and a aggressive tone outside. What you guys recommend?

      • The Pypes Black Pype-Bomb Axle-Back Exhaust will sound aggressive both inside and outside of the car, however the volume will be drastically lower inside of the car.

I have a 2011 V6 convertible, and I took it to a local exhaust shop. He removed the xpipe and resonators and it now produces a tinnier sound. Will this a) be legal in NH if I buy the pypes bomb and b) will this create a deeper rather than much louder sound? Has anyone else here installed this on v6 convertible?

      • As far as sound and tone go, the Pypes Black Pype-Bomb Axle-Back Exhaust will give you more of a deeper growling sound. It will be a bit louder but certainly a deeper tone, so if that is what you are looking for I would certainly recommend this axle back. As far a legality measures go, I would check with your local authorities to verify if there are any sound ordinances to be aware of so you do no receive some kind of ticket or fine running this exhaust on your mustang.

I see a lot of people say in the reviews that it doesn't line up properly. What is the fix for that?

      • Our recommendation is to have some play in the exhaust system that give you the room to move the rubber hangers into their location, then torque the exhaust system on all hangers are installed. If not you have to fight the entire exhaust to install on hangers.

Hey guys I want to buy this exhaust but some of my friends told me that its so loud so I'm confused a little bit. I really like the sound in the video but is it exactly the same sound in real life too? I mean according to the video it's not so loud, it's very good. So for the people who bought this exhaust please tell me if the sound of this exhaust is exactly like in the video and doesn't harass the people next to the car . =)

      • I installed this exhaust in my mustang and I was worried about the sound too but it is not "to loud" in my opinion. You can hear it coming down the street but is only really loud if you put your foot down. To directly answer your question it is a little bit louder and throatier
