    Review & Install Video

Hey everybody, I'm Justin with AmericanMuscle.com and this is my quick breakdown of the Pypes Black Pype-Bomb Axle-Back Exhaust System available for your 3.7 liter 2011 through 2014 V6 Mustang. If you guys are looking for quite possibly one of the most aggressive Axle-Backs available for your 3.7 at a very affordable price, well then, the Black Pype-Bomb here should be at the top of your list. Now, as you guys just heard with our sound clips, this particular Axle-Back will totally transform your V6 in a way you never thought possible, especially with those stock cats in place. Taking a closer look at some of the details here with this Axle-Back, you will notice it's all been powder coated this very aggressive black color which, of course, will definitely give you a very unique look, but also it's going to help resist any possible corrosion down the road. Now, the entire system has been constructed from 100% stainless steel and what little piping there is with this Axle-Back has all been mandrel bent. The signature feature with any Pype-Bomb system here whether it's for your GT or your V6 has to be these absolutely massive four inch tips which do take the place of your mufflers, of course, and do give you the super aggressive tone we heard in the beginning of this video. Now, this is the time guys that I strongly encourage you to head back to the product page of AmericanMuscle.com so you can check out some of the detailed customer images, but more importantly, some of the detailed customer reviews to help you decide if this is the Axle-Back for you. Since this is an Axle-Back, guys, figure about an hour from start to finish on your V6 to get everything in place. Now, Axle-Backs on these cars are generally pretty straightforward and can easily be accomplished with the use of some basic hand tools. But, as always, guys, if you do have any more questions about this exhaust or about the actual install, feel free to hit up a Mustang expert any time. So if you are looking for one of the more aggressive systems available for your 3.7 V6 Mustang, then be sure to check out the Pypes Black Pype-Bomb Axle-Back Exhaust System here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Aggressive Sound. Give your V6 Pony the aggressive sound that will get it noticed on the street or at the strip with a Pypes "Pype Bomb" axle-back. This muffler delete style axleback provides the most aggressive, free-flowing exhaust possible with your factory cats still in place - delivering more power you can feel and hear.

Resonator Tips. The engineers at Pypes designed their new muffler delete exhaust system with specially engineered 4" resonator tips that eliminate that loud annoying popping noise that other muffler delete kits can cause.

Quality Materials. Constructed from free flowing mandrel-bent 2.5" 304 stainless steel tubing, this Pypes "Pype-Bomb" axle-back exhaust features a pair of 4" resonator tips completed in a black powdercoated finish for aggressive good looks.

Application. This Pype-Bomb Axle-Back exhaust system is designed to fit 2011-2014 V6 Mustangs for show quality looks and impressive sound. This axle-back is made to be a direct bolt on to the stock location without any modifications required.

Power Increase Do you expect power/torque increase on this exhaust, if does how much? I want something that I can use for daily driving, is this exhaust obnoxiously loud that my neighbour would hate me (if envy I would just giggle in silence, but annoyance I would certainly think about it). I had an airaid CAI already and this exhaust would be my next project, so I appreciate any input so I would save regret later on.....Thanks...:))

    • I just installed these myself, while I don't have a dyno you should see about 10hp difference, as far as sound, prepare to be stared at,this thing sounds mean

I have a 2011 V6 convertible, and I took it to a local exhaust shop. He removed the xpipe and resonators and it now produces a tinnier sound. Will this a) be legal in NH if I buy the pypes bomb and b) will this create a deeper rather than much louder sound? Has anyone else here installed this on v6 convertible?

    • As far as sound and tone go, the Pypes Black Pype-Bomb Axle-Back Exhaust will give you more of a deeper growling sound. It will be a bit louder but certainly a deeper tone, so if that is what you are looking for I would certainly recommend this axle back. As far a legality measures go, I would check with your local authorities to verify if there are any sound ordinances to be aware of so you do no receive some kind of ticket or fine running this exhaust on your mustang.

I see a lot of people say in the reviews that it doesn't line up properly. What is the fix for that?

    • Our recommendation is to have some play in the exhaust system that give you the room to move the rubber hangers into their location, then torque the exhaust system on all hangers are installed. If not you have to fight the entire exhaust to install on hangers.

How is the sound inside the cabin, Im looking for a soft tone inside the cabin and a aggressive tone outside. What you guys recommend?

    • The Pypes Black Pype-Bomb Axle-Back Exhaust will sound aggressive both inside and outside of the car, however the volume will be drastically lower inside of the car.

Hi there. Is it possible for me to use this in my 2010 v6 which has dual exhaust??

    • This would not be the recommended axle back to use with your 2010 V6. You would want to use this option: https://www.americanmuscle.com/pypes-black-bomb-axelback-0510.html

Hey guys I want to buy this exhaust but some of my friends told me that its so loud so I'm confused a little bit. I really like the sound in the video but is it exactly the same sound in real life too? I mean according to the video it's not so loud, it's very good. So for the people who bought this exhaust please tell me if the sound of this exhaust is exactly like in the video and doesn't harass the people next to the car . =) 1 answer

      Great

They came in on time, fit the car well, and sound amazing. Only thing wrong is that there was a small scratch on the driver side pype, and that they have a lot of drone. I’ve somewhat gotten used to the drone, but my passengers can’t stand it

      Exhaust

These definitely upgraded the sound of my car and added a sleek look to the back. I am very satisfied with these although the alignment was kind of tough to get right.

      Another Car!!!

The best for that price range! sound loud and deep it change complete the feel of been driving a mustang(v6)Also if you stang have some black on it they look AWESOME!! with the help of another person with light knowledge of wrench and a lift and proper tools it took me 45 min ..NEW RECORD!!( save your 100-200 bucks for take it to a shop) if you follow the install instructions there is no way of do it wrong..the alignment was a little tricky but loosing the mid pipes provide you enough room to turn it and centered right ..after that is tight everything and ENJOY!! definitely recommended!!

      Great axle back!

I recently bought these axle backs for my v6 and I love them. I wanted an aggressive sound but not to loud to where it sounds bad. The videos on this product don’t do it justice it’s sounds great it’s loud when you want to hear it and quiet when your cruising.

      axle back exhaust

This is a good product, i love the black finish and it goes good with my grabber blue, but this wasn't as simple of an install as the videos and guide made it seem. factory clamps wont work with this. the passenger side went on pretty easy but the drivers side gave me problems, i had to shim the part to get it to fit better as it doesn't fit my 2012 perfectly. it does sound great and does turn heads, so for the money it was a good purchase. overall am happy with this product.

      Not good

They do not line up well, sound at high speed constant hum, the stock clamps do not work with it. Stays loose even as the clamp is maxed out on the car side.

      Pype-Bomp axle back exhaust.

FIRST let me say. This is the first time I have been really MAD about a product. I have a 14 Mustang. Watched the install videos. Several. WELL guess what. This is not an easy swap. It has to be CUT. Sawed apart. I took a day off to do several things to the car. But this was the biggie. But after an hour NO Luck. List of items required doesn't mention a saw. Bad info. I've never been so mad about a AM item. Please start noting that there is a possibility that it will need to be a saw involved. And that unless you have a lift. Don't recommend doing this. To much work to be under the car. I have NO clue about the actual part yet. As I have to take it to my mechanic shop to have installed. This is in no way a 1 wrench repair. Please look at this again. Thank you.

It's been said many times, but this setup is LOUD. But it's extremely pleasing if that's what you're going for. After driving a little over 1000 miles with these on, I'm now used to the drone, but when I was leaving the shop the noise was deafening to me, lol. Be prepared for LOTS of noise if you're giving it gas.
