Hey, guys. Stephanie with americanmuscle.com, here with an overview and install of the Roush Heat Extractors for the 2015 and newer GT Mustang. In this video we're gonna be talking about a few different things with these heat extractors. We'll talk about the materials and construction [00:00:15] and the install. I'll get more into the install later, but there is a little bit of drilling that you have to do, but I'm still gonna call this one a one out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter. The Roush Heat Extractors are gonna be something that you're gonna wanna check out if you're looking for a small way to change the stock [00:00:30] look of the car. You don't always have to completely change or swap parts to create a different type of look, especially if you're looking to do something subtle, and the Roush Heat Extractors are a perfect example of that. These hood vents are designed to be fully functional, but I can tell you that aren't gonna be seeing or noticing [00:00:45] big differences here. I'd say that these are more for styling than anything else, but that isn't a bad thing. These do come with the raw black that you see here, and they're made from ABS plastic. That means that you can paint-match them if you want, or if you like the contrasting look, you can always just [00:01:00] install them as is. The finish is nice enough that you can just unbox them and install, and they are a clean matte black. A lot of exterior parts are made from ABS plastic and that's because it's lightweight, strong, and durable. It's gonna hold up over time against heat and cold and the sun. So, don't be [00:01:15] thrown off by the materials and the fact that these are lightweight. ABS also has impact resistance and when it's prepped properly, it paints really well. These are gonna come with everything you'll need to complete the install. So, you'll get the heat extractors, themselves, some hardware, just a few screws, [00:01:30] a piece of foam, and templates for your drilling to make the install easier. And don't worry, we'll go over the install more in a second. When it comes to price, you can expect to spend between $150 and $200 for a set of these. Now, you do have a few options when it comes to other hood vent options. [00:01:45] Or you could always go the route of a new hood or a hood scoop if you're looking to differentiate your car, but I will say that these are one of the least expensive options that are currently out there right now.As for the install, you're looking at a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, even though you do have to do a little bit of drilling for these. [00:02:00] You're gonna expect to have this finished in an hour or two tops and if you're planning on getting these painted, I'd just make sure that you test fit them first. You're gonna need a few basic tools and a drill, of course. The hood blanket will need to come off and there are a few pieces of hardware to get the stock vents out of the way. [00:02:15] You use the drill template to drill two holes on each side of the hood. I would just seal these holes after you drill them, so you don't have any rust issues. Then your foam's gonna go right into place. The Roush Heat Extractors clip into the factory slots and then screw into place. Next you can reinstall the [00:02:30] factory plastic piece and the factory hood blanket too. And that's all it's gonna take to get these installed.Wrapping things up here with the Roush Heat Extractors, these are hood vents that are gonna give your Mustang a subtle change in appearance. They're made from ABS plastic. They ship to you matte black, but they are [00:02:45] paintable and they have a great fit. You can check them out more online right here at americanmuscle.com.
