What's going on, everybody. Justin with, and today I'm gonna be breaking down the RTR Tactical Performance Double Adjustable Rear Lower Control Arms, available for your '05 to '14 Mustang. The Tactical Performance lineup gets it's name from the tactical approach Vaughn and his team take to design, develop, and test each part, resulting in the ultimate performance for your Mustang. Lower control arms are definitely one of those parts high up in the priority list of most Mustang owners for a few different reasons. For one, a set of aftermarket lower control arms like the RTRs here will help eliminate any wheel hop that I'm sure a lot of you guys and myself can attest can be a common problem on these S197s. Secondly, a pair of well-engineered, well-designed rear lower control arms like the Tactical Performance options from RTR will help improve your traction, overall, whether it's lowering your 60 foot time at the drag strip, or helping you put that power down coming out of turns. Taking a closer look at the lowers from RTR, you will at first notice here the signature battleship grey powder coat that Vaughn and his team at RTR have decided to use with the entire Tactical Performance lineup. Now, in addition to that, you will notice they are double adjustable, here. And on-car adjustable, so it is going to allow you to easily dial in your optimal settings, depending on your application. However, the big thing with these lower control arms has to be the overall quality of construction, from the forged ends here, all the way down to these very unique maxi-bushings that are really gonna separate these lower control arms from some of the other options available out there on the market today. Now, these bushings are gonna perform like a spherical bushing, or a rod end bearing, but basically aren't gonna transmit the noise vibration and harshness that oftentimes comes along with a solid-style bushing like that. They're also a dual-durometer bushing, meaning it's gonna help prevent any possible binding. And last but not least, they are completely maintenance-free, meaning you're never gonna have to grease these things, for the life of the product. All right, guys. Getting these rear lower control arms installed is a breeze, for the most part. Simple two bolt install here, that should really only take you about 45 minutes to an hour, tops. It is important to mention, guys, that you should install these with the rear suspension loaded up, and as an additional pointer, I would say adjust these things to the same length as your stock lower control arms, just to get you started. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to hit us up here at A-M, using our 1-800 number. So if you're looking to rid your S197 of that nasty wheel hop, and you wanna help the car get off the line better in the process, then be sure to check out the RTR Tactical Performance Adjustable Lower Control Arms, available right here at

Improves Traction. If your 2005-2014 Mustang can't hook up, it's no question you're going nowhere fast. That's why RTR Performance designed these Double Adjustable Rear Lower Control Arms to improve traction, eliminate wheel hop and decrease your 60 foot times. These LCAs are a great addition to your S197 for both street and track use.

Double Adjustable. Unlike some other aftermarket control arms, RTR Performance Rear Lower Control Arms are on-car double adjustable. This allows you to precisely dial in your settings, specific for your application, ensuring you stay straight down the track every time.

Superior Construction. Made from tubular DOM steel tubing for superior strength and rigidity, these RTR Double Adjustable Rear LCAs feature Synthetic Dual-Durometer Elastomer MAX-C Bushings with a multi axial composite design and have been completed in a silver powdercoated finish.

MAX-C Bushings. The Dual-Durometer MAX-C Bushing compound of these LCAs helps dampen NVH, the reinforcement sleeve inside redistributes load to prevent binding or gapping and the PTFE liner serves as a lubricating agent for a grease-free, silent operation.

Application. This set of two RTR Performance Double Adjustable Rear Lower Control Arms are designed as a direct bolt-on upgrade for all 2005 to 2014 Mustangs, including the V6, GT, Bullitt, and Shelby GT500 models.

Would these be an upgrade to the Ford Racing fixed LCAs that come stock on GT500s?

    • The RTR Tactical Performance Double Adjustable Rear Lower Control Arms (05-14 All) will be a nice upgrade over the lower control arms that come stock over the GT500s. The double adjustability of these allows you to set your LCAs up how you want, they will also further reduce the amount of wheel hop as well as decrease your 60 foot times by improving the amount of tracking that you have on initial launch.

A must for your lowered 'stang.

Fully adjustable for a perfect fit. Adjustable panhard and lower control arm eliminated rear end instability, and makes for hard, straight launches.

      Bang For Buck

So I had these on my ride for about 2 months, and I must say that it really helps out with controlling your vehicle. I point my car in the direction I want to go and can floor it, and it will go in that direction so I don't really worry when my car starts kicking sideways due to torque (makes it fun anyways). I had these installed in a shop which cost about $100. My only gripe with them is that even though it reports that these is no maintenance required, they squeak like crazy. My mechanic thinks it's the rubber due to all the heat so he'll apply some silicone spray to see if it takes away the squeak. Other than that, I love them.

      Very nice!!!

I had a set of Sr Performance on and the bushings kept going out. Put these on and wheel hop is completely gone. Very easy installation as well.

RTR Tactical Performance Lower Control Arms

I daily drive my mustang, but like most other people, i wanted more out of my car, so i ordered these lower control arms. Really great product right out of the box that they shipped in. The install took about 30 minutes for both of them. The hardest part about the install was getting the bolts towards the front of the car out since you can't fit an impact under there, and an air ratchet is too weak. However, once these things are done, installing the new control arms is very easy. I used ramps for the install and they worked just fine. The thing i immediately noticed after installing is that the car is definitely more responsive when accelerating from a stop. I haven't done any hard launches yet due to wanting to have a break-in period, but there is a noticeable difference in how the car behaves. Overall, i definitely recommend this product!

These are great lower control arms. They are super easy to install and I love that the bushings do not have to be greased, EVER. There is a definite handling advantage, but keep in mind you will not really feel it driving around the city. You will feel it when launching for sure. The only thing I don't really like is the EXTREME noise when driving around. You WILL hear every bump in the road even if you don't feel it. This does not retract from my 5 star rating because that comes with any lower control arm with good bushings. I seriously underestimated the amount of noise I would be getting. If you are not okay with a lot of noise, aftermarket lower control arms are not for you. Another thing to keep in mind, if you steering wheel is off center it is because these are fully adjustable and the rear axle is off center. This is an easy fix. Just adjust them until your steering wheel is centered. You will need to drive it to know when it is centered but adjusting these is easy. I took my car to an alignment shop after install and they told me they couldn't align my car because "it isn't supposed to have those adjustable track parts on it". Yeah. Great shop huh? Anyway, I didn't really need an alignment, just needed to adjust these until my steering wheel and rear axle were centered. Overall, these are well worth the money. Good quality construction and materials and do exactly what they are supposed to do.

Great but a lot of noise

I already had lowering springs and I was trying to figure out what next to buy. So I decided to go with lower control arms, very easy to install, the only thing is the noise increase in the rear of the car. Other than that I like them.

      Worth it.

The handling and traction improvement was immediately noticeable. I feel like I added a power at the same time. That's because the rear wheels are hooking up so much better and putting the power to the ground. Significantly reduced the wheel hop. If I had to install again I could do it in less than 90 minutes. Took me 4 hours due to lack of knowledge and proper tools. I bought these because of the maintenance free factor once installed. No noise or squeaks. Get yourself a big crescent wrench, you will need this to tighten the big jam nuts.
