What's going on, everybody. Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and today I'm gonna be breaking down the RTR Tactical Performance Double Adjustable Rear Lower Control Arms, available for your '05 to '14 Mustang. The Tactical Performance lineup gets it's name from the tactical approach Vaughn and his team take to design, develop, and test each part, resulting in the ultimate performance for your Mustang. Lower control arms are definitely one of those parts high up in the priority list of most Mustang owners for a few different reasons. For one, a set of aftermarket lower control arms like the RTRs here will help eliminate any wheel hop that I'm sure a lot of you guys and myself can attest can be a common problem on these S197s. Secondly, a pair of well-engineered, well-designed rear lower control arms like the Tactical Performance options from RTR will help improve your traction, overall, whether it's lowering your 60 foot time at the drag strip, or helping you put that power down coming out of turns. Taking a closer look at the lowers from RTR, you will at first notice here the signature battleship grey powder coat that Vaughn and his team at RTR have decided to use with the entire Tactical Performance lineup. Now, in addition to that, you will notice they are double adjustable, here. And on-car adjustable, so it is going to allow you to easily dial in your optimal settings, depending on your application. However, the big thing with these lower control arms has to be the overall quality of construction, from the forged ends here, all the way down to these very unique maxi-bushings that are really gonna separate these lower control arms from some of the other options available out there on the market today. Now, these bushings are gonna perform like a spherical bushing, or a rod end bearing, but basically aren't gonna transmit the noise vibration and harshness that oftentimes comes along with a solid-style bushing like that. They're also a dual-durometer bushing, meaning it's gonna help prevent any possible binding. And last but not least, they are completely maintenance-free, meaning you're never gonna have to grease these things, for the life of the product. All right, guys. Getting these rear lower control arms installed is a breeze, for the most part. Simple two bolt install here, that should really only take you about 45 minutes to an hour, tops. It is important to mention, guys, that you should install these with the rear suspension loaded up, and as an additional pointer, I would say adjust these things to the same length as your stock lower control arms, just to get you started. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to hit us up here at A-M, using our 1-800 number. So if you're looking to rid your S197 of that nasty wheel hop, and you wanna help the car get off the line better in the process, then be sure to check out the RTR Tactical Performance Adjustable Lower Control Arms, available right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Not bad for the price but AM provides no support and I can't talk to the manufacture about the washers being way too big making it impossible to tighten the lock-nuts without damaging the control arm.Helpful (3)

Nice Lower Control Arms
Bought these to replace the stock lower control arms since the bushing in the stock ones were ripped to shreds. Haven’t noticed anymore noise out of these over the stock ones, except for over large bumps they sometimes clunk. Very solid control arms, if you daily drive your car and are serious about racing these are a good set of control arms to invest in.Helpful (8)

Nice replacement. I had other aftermarket ones installed that had poly bushings but I didn't grease them enough and they wore out and these ones are much better they also don't require grease. Look like they will last a lot longer I'm happier than I thought I would be. The pictures don't show how sturdy they look in real life either.Helpful (8)

Second times the charm.
Even though it was a breeze to install and with the help of a strong buddy or buddies to push your rear axle so you can bolt everything down. I can give it 4 stars max due to me receiving this item a month after I was supposed to. Long story short I ordered a bundle of Knicknacks and the LCA were the only thing not there. I contacted AM (my experience was pretty good btw) I ended up getting a refund for the lost item. So no harm no foul. I’ll continue to do business with them. Oh I almost forgot...there is a noticeable difference in hooking up now since I have other suspension mods deflection is virtually gone in my mustang rear. Doing pulls has become a lot more fun.Helpful (11)

A must for your lowered 'stang.
Fully adjustable for a perfect fit. Adjustable panhard and lower control arm eliminated rear end instability, and makes for hard, straight launches.Helpful (12)

Bang For Buck
So I had these on my ride for about 2 months, and I must say that it really helps out with controlling your vehicle. I point my car in the direction I want to go and can floor it, and it will go in that direction so I don't really worry when my car starts kicking sideways due to torque (makes it fun anyways). I had these installed in a shop which cost about $100. My only gripe with them is that even though it reports that these is no maintenance required, they squeak like crazy. My mechanic thinks it's the rubber due to all the heat so he'll apply some silicone spray to see if it takes away the squeak. Other than that, I love them.Helpful (14)

I had a set of Sr Performance on and the bushings kept going out. Put these on and wheel hop is completely gone. Very easy installation as well.Helpful (11)
What the lifespan of these lower control arm? Do they compare to OEM? do they make more NVH compare to spherical bushing?
The RTR Tactical Performance Double Adjustable Rear Lower Control Arms will have a lifespan comparable to OEM. These will make more noise than an OEM control arm, but less than a spherical bushing. These will be comparable in noise to a poly bushing.
Would these be an upgrade to the Ford Racing fixed LCAs that come stock on GT500s?
The RTR Tactical Performance Double Adjustable Rear Lower Control Arms (05-14 All) will be a nice upgrade over the lower control arms that come stock over the GT500s. The double adjustability of these allows you to set your LCAs up how you want, they will also further reduce the amount of wheel hop as well as decrease your 60 foot times by improving the amount of tracking that you have on initial launch.
What is better for drag racing the rtr or bmr
Would these make your ride stiffer or just like oem?
The over ride quality should not be affected after installing these. The lower control arms generally help improve traction and get rid of wheel hop.
What can you do to reduce the squeak of the bushings?
Silicone spray or similar type product may help with this.
