Hey, everybody. I'm Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and this is my detailed review of the RTR Tactical Performance Street Spec Axle-Back Exhaust System available for your 2015 and up Mustang GT with your choice of either a polished or black tip. So the Street Spec is the collaboration between RTR founder Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Magnaflow Exhaust. Now, if you guys are familiar with the previous generation RTR Axle-Back, then you'll notice the dual inlet design has made its way over here to the new S550 system. So what's the deal with that dual inlet design? Well, here you go, guys. This portion is going to travel through a more straight through portion of the muffler here, while the top portion is going to enter more of a baffled or tuned section of the muffler. And again, that's going to result in that lower tone. But the best part is no rasp, no interior drone to speak of. Now, this is just one of two offerings from RTR and Magnaflow, the other being the Competition Spec. And that will be the more aggressive of the two offerings. The Street Spec, as you heard, really not all that loud whatsoever. For that, it's an easy two out of five on my one-to-five or one-to-wake-the-neighbors scale. This is not going to be the loudest axle-back on the market for sure, guys. But that being said, this can also be a plus. Because once you add in your favorite X pipe or H pipe, or even your set of long tubes, that volume will go up considerably, and it's nice to know you have a muffler that can keep things down to a reasonable level. But to round things out, again, a very livable system with the factory resonator still in place. It's not going to be the loudest, but it will give you some solid tone. Breaking down the construction here with the RTR Street Spec, you will find a full stainless steel build throughout. What little piping there is has all been mandrel bent, again, the RTR by Magnaflow Street Spec mufflers, all exiting out the 4-inch slash-cut tips. We have the polished stainless here on the mufflers. It's going to cost you a few bucks extra. Or you can always opt for the very sleek black tips. No matter what tip you do choose, you're going to find the RTR logo on that bad boy. Now, we do have to talk about the actual finish here because this is pretty cool. This is a black ceramic coating. This is not a paint. What's good about this? Well, again, because it's not a paint, it's not going to chip. It's not going to fade. It's only going to increase the durability over the years with this muffler as opposed to something that's not even coated at all or something that's spray-painted. Before we get into the install, let's talk pricing briefly here. Now, the RTR mufflers are going to run you just north of that $500 mark, which when you compare your options here at American Muscle, you're going to find that to be the average amongst the other big names such as Magnaflow, Kooks, Borla Ford Racing, things like that. Install-wise, you guys should know the deal by now. There is some cutting involved, so grab your sawzall, grab your eye protection, and it should be making noise in about an hour or two from start to finish. The install itself, really not all that hard, guys. But because there is cutting involved, we have to call it a two out of three wrenches on our overall difficulty meter. Again, just take your time. Measure twice, cut once, and you should be good to go. All right, guys, wrapping things up here. In my opinion, if you're not concerned with being the loudest S550 on the block, then the Streets Spec from RTR is going to be an awesome choice. And here is why. Great, made-in-the-USA quality build, the black ceramic coating is going to be an awesome choice for durability, and overall, it's going to produce a tone that is very livable, meaning you're not going to get tired of it after a week or two of being on the car. With that being said, if you are planning on going long tube, or if you are planning on going off-road X or H pipe, then the Street Spec will help you keep tones to a relatively sane level, guys. In fact, don't take my word for it. Always check out the customer reviews here at AM. I'm Justin. Thanks for watching. And for all things Mustang, keep it here at AmericanMuscle.com.
