- How to Install Wheels on Your 1979-2013 Mustang
Hey everyone Justin here with AmericanMuscle.com and I’m taking a look at a classic Mustang wheel design and by far our most popular wheel here at American Muscle, I’m referring to these Bullitt wheels for all 99-04 Mustangs. Bullitt wheels have long been the favorite of many Mustang owners everywhere, from their classic 60s muscle car styling, in addition to the factory built Ford Bullitt Mustang in 01, then again in 08 and 09, it’s easy to see why these wheels are so popular on Mustangs of all ages. Our Bullitt wheels are available in 17” 18” and 19” diameters, and your choice of either gloss black, anthracite silver, matte black, or a chrome finish. The wheels are also available in either staggered or non staggered fitment, now a staggered fitment means that your rear wheels and tires are going to be slightly wider than your fronts, giving you that classic muscle car appearance, and that’s exactly what we’ve done on our 2000 V6 behind me. We have our gloss black 17x9’s on the front, and our gloss black 17x10 ½ ‘s on the rear, giving us that really aggressive stance. Now this will also help your traction as well, thanks to the fact that you get to run a big beefy tire out back to help you get that power down to the ground. The wheels are also available with a very cool deep dish option, now deep dish refers to the lip around the wheel itself, as you can see the face of the wheel is set further back into the rim, giving you that really nice lip that’s sure to get you noticed. If you want to check out what some of the other finishes might look like on your ride, then you’ll want to check out our 98 GT back there on the lift that’s sporting the chrome finish, or our 2000 GT back there on our dyno jet, sporting the anthracite silver look. Now whatever finish you decide to go with, rest assured that we have your back, with a 1 year warranty on our finishes, and a lifetime structural warranty on all wheels. Of course you can purchase these wheels individually if you like, however the smart move would be to take advantage of one of our pre built tire and wheel combinations. This pairs your new Bullitt wheels up with some of the top performing tires on the market today, in sizes that are guaranteed to fit your ride without rubbing, even if you’re lowered an inch or two. You also get to take advantage of our free mounting and balancing, optional nitrogen fill, and as always free shipping and handling. Installing a new set of wheels is something any backyard mechanic should be able to tackle, all you need to do is simply crack your lugs loose first, then jack up the car and swap the wheels, start to finish should take you about an hour using standard hand tools and a floor jack. So if you want to evoke that classic muscle car styling on your modern day ride, then these Bullitt wheels from American Muscle will give you an aggressive look that’s sure to never go out of style.

How do I keep my TPMS feature? Aftermarket wheels do not come with TPMS sensors. However, if you select 'Add TPMS Sensor Kit' and your specific year range from the options listed above, we'll install the TPMS Sensors in your new wheels!

I bought the 17x10.5 black bullitts for my GT and installation was easy but the only down side is I need a spacer for clearance so I don’t rub my break lines with the tireHelpful (0)

All I can write, is they are a great looking wheel and very nice addition to my 04 GT. I do wish they came in the 17x9 in the full matt black though, as the rest of my accents are matt. But the extra bit of shine down low, also works too!Helpful (1)

Will this fit on my 2006 v6 without modification?
The 17x10.5" Deep Dish Bullitt Wheel will not fit the 2006 V6 Mustang.
Looking at the 94-04 body styles, will the Cobra front brake kit work with these?
The 17x10.5" Deep Dish Bullitt Wheel will not clear the Cobra front brakes.
I have a 03 GT, stock wheels and tires,.Will I be able to use my same stock size tires on both the 9" (i think its 17x9 stock :s) and the 10.5"? I'm trying to keep my tires as they're basically brand new. If that makes sense to anyone please let me know. Thanks
Hey Charlie, depending on the tire size yes you can for the front tires. But the 10.5 rears will most likely be too wide to fit the stock size tires. Anything smaller than a 275 is going to cause problems
I’m looking at the 17x10.5 bullits would the M/T street comp 315/35R17 fit without modification I’m currently on stock suspension so the car isn’t lowered at all
I read a review on here about someone complaining about this wheel not clearing their borla cat back. I'm curious as to if this is true because I also have a borla system. I'm planning on lowering my 04 GT with the Ford B Spring so the drop won't be drastic. Will this wheel clear that setup?
l would not anticipate any exhaust clearance issues when using your setup.
Yes, the 235/45/17 can work with a 17x7.5-9" wheel.
That wheel/tire set-up will fit the front and rear of the 94'-04' Mustangs.
This wheel will not fit the 2017 Ecoboost. It is confirmed to fit only the 1994 - 2004 models.
These will fit the rear of a 95 Mustang V6 properly yes. The recommend tire size for these here are 315/35/17's.
No, unfortunately, that tire size will not work on a 17" wheel. You will need that size in a 17" diameter.
This wheel will not work on the rear of a 17 GT due to the size of the brakes.
The offset for the 17x9 Bullitt black wheel is +30mm (1.18") and for the 17x10.5 deep dish wheel, the offset is +28mm (1.10").
This 17x9 Bullitt Wheel weighs 22.5 pounds.
This exact kit will not work on your 2007 Mustang as some certain specifications of this kit will not properly fit on your Mustang. You will want a wheel and tire kit that is designated for your 2007 Mustang. https://www.americanmuscle.com/2005wheels.html#shop-by1
We recommend a 315-35-17 for these wheels on the rear of a 94-04 Mustang.
Simple installation for anyone.
