      Ideal Replacement. If your clutch is slipping or burnt up on your daily driver 'Stang, consider a SPEC Stage 1 as a replacement. It will hold better than a stock unit without giving you a leg workout every time you need to shift, and will improve your drivetrain's ability to handle power and perform reliably.

      Daily Driver Friendly. This SPEC Stage 1 Clutch is designed for bolt-on naturally aspirated and mildly modified forced induction engines. It's best suited to 'Stangs that see daily driver duty and occasional track use, since it offers the most friendly pedal feel combined with SPEC's legendary durability.

      Premium Quality. The SPEC Stage 1 Clutch offers all the features you need from a more powerful clutch with superior driveability. SPEC Stage 1 Clutches feature their signature high clamp pressure plate combined with a steel-backed and multi-compound woven organic material disc and high torque sprung hub. Like with all SPEC Clutches, an alignment tool is included for easy installation.

        Does not fit.

        Does not fit my 97 GT, it is much smaller then it should be, have to purchase OEM from autozone which is 200percent cheaper, was hoping to have a better higher performance clutch, so much for that IDEA.

        4 1993 LX - JustinW Installation Time: Weekend

        Seems to work fine

        My fox is running a built 347 stroker with the world class t5... it's holding up decent as of now. As I write this review I've got about 1000 miles on the clutch. I put weekend for installation because I installed it over the weekend by myself with a lift in no hurry.

        3 1996 GT - J Installation Time: Afternoon

        Pretty good clutch

        Alright. I've logged about 800miles on this clutch with my new setup (spec stage 1 , new Ford clutch fork with weight removed, new Ford pivot stud, resurfaced OEM flywheel.) First impressions were really good. Clutch was very grabby yet well behaved for the first 2-300 miles and I was excited to get it broken in. By the end of the break in period (500 miles) the clutch grabs more like an OEM replacement and to be honest is a little soft for my liking. I heard all the chatter stories and figured this would be a really grabby clutch but that's just not the case. To be honest I wish I bought the stage 2. Don't get me wrong it grabs fine, it will chirp second if I want it to but it just doesn't have the crisp quick engagement I was hoping for. It's just like the factory valeo clutch only with increased pedal effort.

        Awful

        I bought this clutch per the recommendation of nearly every mustang forum. It was one of the worst purchases I've made. The pedal pressure was 80-100lb with zero engagement or feel. So much force at the pedal, it pulled the pivot ball out of the bell-housing. After months of trying to make it work (replacing the clutch cable with a new MM cable, verifying routing to ensure nothing wasn't binding, locking firewall adjuster etc) I purchased a LUK stock replacement clutch. Much better engagement and pedal feel. I'll never buy a Spec product again.

        A really nice clutch kit at the right price

        Clutch kit arrived from AM in no time. Very pleased with the kit as it contains the two bearings needed for the rebuild/install. Looking forward to having it in my Mustang.Thanks AM!

        the clutch is really good highly recommend for street use. once the clutch broke in its really good and for the price its worth it. I didnt get chatter or noise so im happy and give it a 5/5

        5 1995 GT - Josh95gt Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        Spec Clutch

        I bought this clutch with a spec aluminum flywheel. The clutch bites every time with no hesitation. I think it's a great choice if u don't want the hard pedal from a stage 2 all the time but still need something to keep up.
