    Ultimate Performance. If your forced induction or built coyote GT Mustang delivers massive horsepower and torque, but needs a clutch that will let your Pony run with the herd on the street, a SPEC Stage 3+ is the clutch for you. Blending performance with drivability, the Stage 3+ combines the type of compound used in the Stage 3 Clutch to deliver a clutch capable of handling up to 875 ft-lb of torque, but a full-faced disc design means there is less of the "on-off" feel associated with true race-only clutches.

    Street and Strip. The SPEC Stage 3+ Clutches are designed to be the perfect clutch for a high powered street or race car. Unlike other pure race type clutches, the pedal feel of the 3+ is still worthy of the strip, but not so unforgiving as a "puck style." Combining elements of a race clutch with a street clutch means a Stage 3+ can withstand many passes on the strip, while still letting you drive your Pony to and from the track.

    Premium Quality. The sprung hub, full face design of the SPEC Stage 3+ features a carbon semi-metallic friction material for unsurpassed bite and long clutch life. The Stage 3+ Clutch includes the high clamp pressure plate and the full face friction disc.

    Application. The SPEC Stage 3+ Clutch is a performance upgrade for your serious strip Mustang. This SPEC Mustang Clutch is designed for use on the 2011-2014 GT Mustangs, with the MT-82 manual transmission.

    It's recommended that you add an SR Performance Braided Stainless Steel Hydraulic Clutch Line during your new clutch install. Stock plastic clutch lines can fail during aggressive driving. Stainless steel clutch lines help prevent gear lockout and provide superior clutch pedal feel, even under the toughest conditions.

    Technical Note. It's recommended to install a new SPEC flywheel with this replacement clutch for the 2011-2014 Mustang GT. Please view our flywheel page for steel and aluminum flywheel replacements.

      Great grip. A little chatter

      I installed this on my 13 Whipple charged 5.0. My stock clutch was struggling mightily with the Whipple on corn. The Spec 3 has massive grip with only very light chatter. I’m 350 miles into it and it seems to be settling in nicely. Was a bit of a learning curve to start as the pedal was vastly changed but I’m used to it now and it works very well. If anything was an issue, I’d say the bite is a little harsh. There is no slipping this clutch.

      Post-Install Review

      I'm not through my break-in period yet, so I can't speak to that. Install was straight forward and easy. Some bolt holes are slightly off, but didn't end up needing to modify anything for fit other than adding some patients. No shims needed. Got it right the first time. No sound, chatter or other term for a terrible sounding car (steel flywheel used). Pedal is more firm that stock but is becoming less noticeable as I drive it. Glad to have a sprung hub back in my driveline again. Much smoother starts.

      the best single disk clutch available...

      875 ft lbs of holding power. The same grip of a twin disk without all the clatter and chatter. I paired it with the aluminum flywheel on my procharged 2012 5.0. I love it. It holds all the power i can throw at it. Feels a lil firmer than a stock clutch but never fades and gets soft like the stocker. For the price you cant beat it either. All in all its the best thing ive bought to make the mt-82 trans work flawlessly. 2 thumbs up for sure.
