Premium Quality. By choosing a premium quality flywheel like a SPEC Billet Steel flywheel for your Mustang GT, you'll enjoy driving it more and also have more peace of mind. SPEC flywheels are made to the highest standards for both performance and safety. These flywheels are are machined to a .001 tolerance (other brands are only made to .01) and designed and weighted for the perfect balance and surface to complement your new clutch.

Protects Your Investment. When replacing your clutch you have two options: resurfacing your old flywheel, or getting a new flywheel. Most times, getting a new flywheel is better than resurfacing, as the flywheel will dictate how well your clutch will perform, as well as how long it will last.

SFI Certified. If you're using this flywheel in high performance or racing applications, SFI Certification is critical so you can run your Pony at the track or strip. And it's great for peace of mind even in a daily driver - at higher RPMs, stock cast flywheels have been known to explode.

Application. This SPEC steel flywheel is designed for use on the 2011 GT Mustangs built before February 2011.

Looking to purchase clutch and flywheel for my 2012 GT 5.0 manual Does this flywheel fit? i have heard that GT's dont have an 8 bolt flywheel.. only the Boss. if so, what are my options for standard GT flywheel? thanks, JEff Check

        • Hello twistedneck...I just went to the AMC page with that SPEC Billet Steel Flywheel-8 Bolt (11-13GT). I f you look under application here is what I found. Application. This SPEC steel flywheel is designed for use on the 2011 to 2013 GT Mustangs with the 4V Coyote 5.0L engine! If your Mustang has that engine then you should be good to go. If not than I'd look for a different flywheel! Hope this helps you out JEff.

            Good Replacement for stock flywheel

This flywheel is made of solid steel and is similar in weight and feel to the stock flywheel. I do not notice much of a difference in RPM decrease or increase. Only issue I had was matching the holes up to an exedy pressure plate, but it fit perfect. Would recommend this flywheel for a stock feel/fit.

            Not what's in the picture

This is a good flywheel, but it is a solid steel (no replaceable friction plate). At first I was pretty angry with AM but to their credit, SPEC didn't have any info or pics at all; I guess it's a rare item. Anyways, I installed this and it is a high quality flywheel. I have perfect clutch engagement and faster accelerator response. I put this on the 3.7 v6, where the factory flywheel is 32 lbs.

Great choice for a new flywheel

I bought the exedy clutch and this billet flywheel, was an excellent fit and a great performance upgrade! The procharger I installed really needed it! Gets the power to the ground now

            better than stock flywheel

i installed the spec flywheel and clutch when the throw out bearing on the slave cylinder took a permanent vacation; i figured, the bell is open, time to upgrade!!! i have elapsed the extended break in period, and this thing GRIPS! bang for your buck is great, and i couldn't justify spending the extra money on the twin disc clutch on a daily driver (maybe in the future if it becomes a straight racer). The flywheel feels a bit lighter than stock, so the throttle reponse is a bit better.
