    Hey guys, Stephanie with AmericanMuscle.com, here with this SR Performance Cut and Clamp Resonator Delete X-Pipe, available for 2015 and up GT Mustangs. This Resonator Delete X-Pipe from SR Performance is going to be for the S550 GT owners out there that are looking to increase the sound level of their car quickly and without necessarily having to spring for an entirely new exhaust system. This makes it perfect for those of you out there that are on a budget but that need to open up some value and create more of a muscle car sound. Replacing the resonator with an X-Pipe can totally change the sound of the car, even with the stock axleback still installed. The Resonator Delete is firstly going to free up some power and, of course, volume, since it will be replacing that restrictive factory resonator with a 409-grade, stainless steel X-Pipe that is more free-flowing. So not only are you going to have a major change in sound with this X-Pipe, but you'll also be freeing up some power as well. While this does reuse the factory cat so it stays smog-legal, you're still going to have those sound and power gains here and reusing the stock cats will save you money, which is always a plus. This X-Pipe is 2.5" in diameter and [inaudible 00:02:18] and like I said, it is 409-grade which is great for those cars that are daily drivers or those that see weather conditions other than the sun. It's going to offer great corrosion resistance and, like I mentioned earlier, one of the cool things about this X-Pipe is that you can pair it with your stock mufflers for a change of exhaust note, or you can run it with an aftermarket axleback. So you'll cut and remove the factory resonator and clamp into place the new X-Pipe, no matter what axleback you back. But either way you'll still maintain the use of the stock cats. So like a typical X-Pipe, this X-Pipe from SR Performance is going to force the exhaust gases to cross and even out. It's going to create a raspy note and a lot more volume, even with the factory components. On a scale of one to five, with five being the loudest, and keeping in mind that you're still going to have your stock cats, I would rate this X-Pipe with a solid two with the factory axleback. It definitely opens up some sound, but it's not overbearing or crackly or too raspy with the factory axleback. But if you're planning on swapping your factory axleback anytime soon, just know that this X-Pipe will help make things a lot louder. Depending on which axleback you end up choosing, you could be looking at more of a four on the loudness scale. As far as price goes, this X-Pipe Resonator Delete is the most affordable on the site, especially when you start to consider how much exhaust costs for the S550. This X-Pipe costs just a little over $100 and there currently is only one other X-Pipe that even comes close to this price. But the real kicker is, this other option is made from aluminized steel, while the SR Performance X-Pipe is that 409-stainless that I mentioned. At the end of the day, I would say that this is a great deal. You have a fast and easy way to totally change your exhaust and it's also a high-quality material. And if you think about it, if you pair this with an aftermarket axleback, you've effectively created a cat-back for your GT and you've paid a lot less for it. As for the install, you do have some flexibility here. Like the name suggests, there will be some cutting involved but nothing too difficult. If you take your time, it's going to take about two hours to complete, maybe less. And I'm going to call this a two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, but mainly just because of the cutting that's involved. The X-Pipe does come with brand new clamps that SR Performance has upgraded so they'll perform correctly, and like I just mentioned, you always have the option of clamping the front and welding in the rear of the X-Pipe. But that's up to you and your shop. A lot of people like welding in the rear better but that's not something that you have to do. I will say that the X-Pipe is 2.5" out the rear as well, which means that you will need to slit or expand the ends so you can slip it over your factory exhaust. That's going to be the only downside here, but ultimately that's really just a small bump in the install road. It's nothing to really rain on the parade of the value of this piece, especially if you have a good shop installing it. So overall, this is a high-quality, stainless steel Resonator Delete X-Pipe that can work with either the factory axleback or an aftermarket one. It also works with the factory cats and it's going to free up some sound and volume from the GT.     Can the 409 stainless be confirmed? I saw on other sites this was being advertised as aluminized steel.

    • I am not sure which other site this x-pipe was advertised as aluminized steel, however, American Muscle is the exclusive dealer for SR Performance and they are indeed constructed of T409.

    What is the weight of the x-pipe. I was told the stock resonator weighs about 15 pounds. I was wondering what the savings in weight might be.

    • The SR Performance Cut and Clamp Resonator Delete X-Pipe is specifically designed for use on the 2015-2017 GT Mustangs only and will not fit on the V6 models due to the size difference.

    • Hey Champ, To say one is better is really relative, they both are about the same in terms of power, the difference lies mainly with sound. H-pipe you generally get a deeper sound than an x-pipe. But x-pipes are usually louder.

    So if as some have said and this x pipe has the same diameter as your stock pipe, how do you attach it to the cat pipes? I don't want to weld it as I want to do it myself. Do I need to get extra parts? What do I need, where can I get them? Thanks

    • Hi, you will use the supplied exhaust clamps to secure the resonator delete pipe onto factory cat back, and use the factory exhaust clamps to connect this SR Performance Cut and Clamp Resonator Delete X-Pipe to the mid pipe.

    2016 mustang gt convertible. Will this void my warranty if I swap out resonator with the xpipe.

      Bang for the buck...

      Best bang for the buck...or should I say growl for the buck. I already had the Roush Cat backs on whichsound good. The xpipe took it to another level. Every time it is driven I get complements. My neighbor has a repair shop so I let him install and he said it was super easy.

      Could be better..

      While the product sounds amazing the fit could be better. This pipe should come with a slip end instead of butting up and needing to cut the heatshield to install.

      Good quality at best price

      I used this x-pipe on my C-63 AMG. It is a really good quality x-pipe and priced very well. I would suggest buying this over any other named brands.. Buying this product you are not paying for brand names and yet getting the right quality and fitment.

      Great X Pipe!

      The SR performance X pipe was a great buy! It was an easy install and it gave me that deep tone I was looking for! My only complaint about this buy is the sleeve clamps that it came with are on the cheap side... other than that no complaints! My set up is this X pipe with the mbrp muffler delete.

      2018 w/ active exhaust

      This product works on everything except a 2018 Mustang GT with the active exhaust feature. The diameters of the stock resonator and the x-pipe are the same 2.50 inches when with the active exhaust feature. In order to install this product, you will need to cut and flange (expand) the pipe - as it will not slip into the stock piping. I cut my x-pipe, as the pipe was too long (not the advertised 47ish inches) and I did not want to cut off the heat shield (metal plate protectant). Overall, I would recommend this product; it gives an excellent, raspy tone, and livens up the 2018 GT w/ active exhaust a huge deal.

      Price, Quality, Material

      Received my order quickly and in perfect condition. Deliberated between h and x pipe for 8 or 9 months. This sound is cleaner without the helicopter flutter of EVERY h pipe on the market. This mod is more efficient and paired with American Thunder my mustang is deep without sounding like an 87 pick up truck.

      Sr performance cut and clamp

      Took 30 mins on the hoist. Remember to use a new blade and cut away from the fuel tank. I had no problem installing the pipe while exaust remained in the car. Compliments the stock muffler for sure. I did later install axle back because my wife heard a “louder” mustang on the street! (Roush axle back) That May be a bit over the top for some.

      Really makes the 2018 stock exhaust come alive

      Was a great great first addition for my 2018 GT 10 speed w/ no active exhaust. The exhaust now has more volume and has a great tone. Also the 2k-3.5k rpm range sounds so much better. I cant recommend this enough for GT owners who want a little more volume but still daily the car.

      Great Value

      I would give this a 5 star except the clamps provided don't completely seal. Needs to come with the Torca style exhaust clamps. Sounds great on the 2018 GT. My butt dyno says there is some improvement too! Install was a snap ( I'm a Auto Tech so I have access to tools and a lift). I recommend this pipe. This gets rid of the odd exhaust sound of the stock system
