Will these be wide enough? I recently put on 10.5" tires on the rear of my 97 and the tire has about 2mm's of space between this and the shock. I just wanted to push the tire out a tiny bit just so I don't run the risk of it rubbing on my tire. Also will these work with my wheel studs? Or will the studs become too short?

    Kelso

    • The 5/16" spacer is equivalent to 7.93mm and they will begin to push the wheel off of the hub ring, and could cause vibrations when driving. Additionally, the stock wheel studs may be too short for the wheel to be fastened with the lug nuts, and we would recommend extended and reinforced studs. If you perhaps could get away with a smaller spacer, such as a 3/16" (5mm), this will not require long wheel studs for sure.

    Are these spacers hub centric?

    ElCajonBone24

    • No, they are not hub centric. I used two pieces of painters tape to hold them in place then pulled the tape out once the wheel was installed.

I have a 03 Mach 1 with older AFS Mach1 style wheels. They used to come 9" Rear 8 Front. I was wondering if its safe to install 5/16 spacers in front also. Also by counting turns on lug nuts when installing wheels im doing 4 1/2 turns...is this enough or should i need longer studs.??

    Ben03mach

    • The Wheel & Brake Spacers are safe to use front or rear wheels as long as proper lug nut thread engagement is still present. With a Mustangs 1/2"x20 Lug nuts, we typically like to see 8 turns of the lug nut from initial install to final torque of 100 Ft Lbs. With only 4.5 turns, we would recommend looking in to a longer stud, especially if spacers are planned.

I Have a 2017 Gt without the PP, I'm looking to upgrade to the Brembo front brakes from stock. With a 19-8.5 rim would these provide enough clearance to avoid any issues with the new brakes? Thanks!

    Scott

    • Hello! The spacers should give you proper clearance for the Brembo kit to fit.

I bought the spacers and now need longer wheel studs. What length do you recommend and do you heve them in stock? Thank you

    • Hello! Our wheel stud availability, and size options will depend entirely on what year mustang you have. Please give us a call or email in so we can help you further. You can reach us here: http://www.americanmuscle.com/contact.html

INTERESTED IN BUYING THESE FOR MY 08 GT WITH STOCK 18" WHEELS. LOWERED 1",JUST WANT TO SET REAR WHEELS OUT A LITTLE WITH NO CONCERNS. WILL THESE WORK WITH NO PROBLEMS?

    Flipper

    • These spacers would work for your stock 18 inch wheels, however with them being 5/16 inch you may need to get longer wheel studs.

Need 8mm in the front with my Forgestar 18x10 rims I got from American Muscle so I could run 315/30/18 Hoosier A7's on my 2012 Ford Boss 302r.

      I didn't like the texture

They felt cheap. Not going to lie. However I am happy that I got them. I think I should have went one size bigger. Just for cosmetic purposes/stance reasons. All in all I'm happy with my purchase.

      Made my car vibrate

I put these on the front rims at the same time I installed new rims and tires. There was vibration at speeds over 45 and pretty bad on the freeway. At first I wasn't sure if it was the spacer or the balancing of the rims, but as soon as I took the spacers off the vibration went away. I would go hub centric spacers next time over these.

      Terrible product

it will destroy your stock bolts eventually if you don't use extended bolts because it makes lug nuts bit on less thread of each bolt so the force on less thread and they will wear out soon. i had them on for few hours. and unbearable vibration noise. total waste of money and time

      Not bad

Considering the price, these spacers are not bad. I've got the optional 19" wheels on my '13 GT and wanted a bit less inset. No, they aren't hub centric, but it wasn't too bad.

      Fits right on!

Pretty straight forward product. My only small complaint is that they do not fit snugly, meaning that they move around a little bit on the hubs. Because of this, you will want to be sure to tap them with your fingers to center them once you put the wheel back on and before you tighten the lug nuts. Other than that, no issues. It was just enough to eliminate the goofy tucking on my front wheels and stop my tires from rubbing on my struts.

      5/16 wheel spacers

Great product, easy to install. Just the right amount of clearance for my new rear brakes. Pushed the rear wheels out just beyond the lip of the wheel opening for an aggressive stance. No new studs needed. Remove wheels, install, put wheels on and use. That easy. Used on my 04 GT. As always, fast shipping plus a friendly and knowledgeable staff!!!!

      Requred for My Setup

My 06 GT with AM 19" Chrome Offset Bullitt Deep Dish wheels required the spacer in order for the back rims to clear the caliper covers. The 19x8.5" rims in the front DID NOT require the spacer but the 19x10" in the back certainly did. Simple product that provides a simple fix...be advised it will move the tire further to the outside of the wheel well increasing debris that is picked up and thrown against the rear fender. Worth it.

Product not compatable with S-197 wheel studs

I bought this product to get sufficent clearance for my caliper covers with the bullitt replacement wheels I had recently purchased and found that they left insufficent space on the wheel studs to properly secure the lug nuts. I eventually went with Eibach 13/16 inch spacers with pre-installed studs that take the rear wheels with the 18x10 inch rims just a tad beyond the wheel well.

      Product Works As Intended

The spacers work pretty well. They give the perfect amount of spacing and bring your tires right even with the fender well lip. The only difficult part was getting them aligned perfectly on the hub. It takes a little tricky work to get them aligned. I didn't have to change out wheel studs as there appeared to be enough threads left.
